Create your own reality.

We hear that alot these days. A melange of buddhist thought and modern spirituality blended together. One that gives us a sense of being empowered here on our wildly spinning globe in a huge mostly empty infinite void.

Creating your own reality also comes with a sense of responsiblity for what happens in one's life so that rather than life happening TO you it happens WITH you. Jose Argueles harvested this gem from him explorations of the Mayan culture. Surf the Zuvuya... ie don't drown in the swirl of life's waves but get up on the board of your own conciousness and Ride baby Ride!!!

So create your own reality right?
Easily discounted by pudits of doubt
Who are able to turn on their mic's and shout
IF your creating reality then turn day into night!
Give yourself the power of flight
Bless the blind with renewed sight
We will scoff and remain aloof
Til you hippies show us some PROOF!

In a translation of the Heart Suttra by Edward Conze (which is not perfect but pretty amazing nonetheless) called The Perfection of Wisdom in 10000 lines, the buddha busts out with the concept of "Conditioned Co-Production"...

I was lucky to be studying theatre arts at the time when I read this and it was very clear to me how this applied to life.

SURE you do get to create your own reality. In fact you get a HUGE set with unlimited resources and infinite costumes.
That's the PRODUCTION part: The "Create" In Create Your Own Reality...

The Conditioned part refers to something all producers, directors, actors and audiences deal with: The Limitations of the Theatre.

As stated above, the set of "Earth" is enormous and has for most things unlimited resources, but it is STILL a theatre and as such comes with it's own set of Conditions. Gravity is a good example of this... or ...having to breathe air...or the need to cut loose and dance like a freaky wildperson...

Thus: Conditioned Production... Make what you want within the parameters of this Theatre Earth.

Last but not lesser is the "Co" Part.

YES YOU, whomever you be, get to Create in Theatre Earth.
However there are a zillion other beings from your sister to an ardvark to a school of plankton to Tom Cruise to a redwood tree that are ALSO creating their own reality.

Conciousness springs forth from nowhwere, exists for no time at all and then zooms into nothingness, having never been. Yet also from this conciousness in our minds, comes the intentions that we place into the world. The script we are writing for our past, present future, woven of the threads of our thoughts.

Impossible to track, a sonofabitch to find, totally utterly hopelessly slippery, and yet the pinpoints of these unmoments stitch together the pathway of our lives.

I suggest that you take a moment to see your life as a production as the buddha suggested, (probably with a smile and a wink ;o).

After you see your life as a production of YOU. Next take a look at how your production can expand into a Co-Production.

Reality Creation Teams are formed and constantly re-forming all the time. Who is on your team? How are you contributing?

Like the surfer must stay perfectly focused and present with their body, the wave and the board, so We Theatre Earth Co-Producers benefit from this presence in the Now.
