A longing to experience devotion

Just returned form Sofia Diaz yoga class in SF called Softening the Edges of Being. have never felt so moved in a yoga class before; I found her to be accessible. humble, honest, humorous, deeply wise,and strong. At the end of class I felt disoriented like I was on drugs, dissolving, and then feeling scared...I felt stirred up and down on multiple levels. I was left thinking about my longing to experience depthful and lasting devotion on a daily basis. I notice how I invite shame in as an easy habit. And I experienced a shift, choosing to enjoy and accept that I am in actuality a mostly non devoted typical westerner, hardened in an often empty state of disbelief, searching for meaning and healing and wrestling with my ego's huge need for attention. I drove home thinking about how longing (craving) for devotion plays out in my life and in areas I have little trust. I will go back for tomorrow's women only class

The longest night ending our 2007. Decided to skip the annual Solstice Ritual in favour of a short & sweet visit with P. and to process photos from the fabulous and prolific photo shoot yesterday. Konrad came over for an afternoon of pole dancing with the camera. It was a wonderful and productive afternoon- the muses were with us and I think K and I are well on the way of being loving and caring friends. As for the holidays, i have already received my gifts 5 times over staying here in this mansion for 3 weeks. I plan to be here and enjoy quiet time by myself. I may even work! I have been given the lovely honour of house-sitting for 3 weeks in the gorgeous hills of Oakland at my dear friend David's mansion-like home until December 26th. I am filling up on spaciousness and light.. My heart feels giddy and open. I have been dating/connecting with a lot of super yummy wonderful people as well as focusing on my business again. The heart ache of break up is so officially over. I am in my flow and joy of life and all possibilities. //ahhh

Thursday evening I went to One Taste to participate in Jerry Ya's Healing Prayer Meditation circle. I have been getting body work with him and so I knew about this event and wanted to check it out because I believe Jerry is a gifted and knowledgeable healer/body worker (particularly pelvic massage for women). At first I felt my reluctance to commit to sitting on one spot for more than an hour and I am so grateful I did. The first thing I experienced was gratitude. I got it! How lucky am I to be in a beautiful body and in my rich life this time around. During and after the meditation prayer, I felt acute expansiveness beyond words, I experienced myself outside of myself, glimpsing at my pattern of pain as an observer, with deep love, wisdom and compassion. I felt this deep compassion and insight for my friends and my family. And felt my love for them. And a layer of forgiveness unveiling. Single and Delicious

I am starting to really enjoy the deliciousness of being single. I do not need to take care of anybody or check in about my whereabouts. There is freedom in this. I can move closer to each moment as it unfolds and make spontaneous decisions. I am starting to experience attraction again. YUM! And dancing has taken on an even deeper, richer value as a direct pathway to immediate expression and connection with myself and others. I am becoming more embodied. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO I have noticed lately, when my heart feels cracked open, sometimes I can't tell if it is pain or just cracked open in love..I like that.

my temple of emptiness...returning to love

Broke up with my partner...deep sadness

My primary partner and I have broken up. Instead of taking down photos of us in my bedroom, I remove photos in my profile. I am deep in heart grief as well as other raw feelings, some of which do not feel loving. I know that the longer I avoid moving thru these harder feelings, beyond loss, I am stuck. It is my intention to stay in love as we transition to friends. We share our most intimate communities so there is no running away. We are in the same chosen extended family. I am still deeply in love, as is he, and yet I am also filled with rage, resentment, and feelings of betrayal. My deep compassion for his experience sometimes gets in the way of me acknowledging my truth. I am creating balance in awareness and moving towards being more self-ful in my own needs for expression, healing and release. I am letting go of my need to create safety for him to be able connect with me in my pain. I am ready to feel alone again in this break up even though it is much sweeter when the journey of loss is shared. I am looking forward to feeling free and single and exploring lots of yummy people and experiences again. I want to explore the sensations and emotions in surrendering with a lover(s) or master (with power play), I want to explore erotic tantric energy beyond the genitals, and I want to experience raw passion with deep trust. I want to create healing experiences for the secret hurt shameful places in my sexuality. I want to indulge in the joys of uncovering the deepest self in sex and love. I am still in deep heart ache and I trust this will dissolve when I am ready. I am letting go of Konrad. Sending myself hugs and love x Catherine

Hi A few months ago I performed at a Pole Dance Showcase where someone informally shot a video of my performance. I’d like to make it more usable for my website. I’d like to hire someone to make the lighting sexier and add by business name and music credit to the .mov. I have a 128MB file- pretty small but it doesn’t need to be fancy as it will be viewed pretty small. Driving Chronicles Update and Trip to Harbin Hotsprings!

So... I have been driving for 3 months now. I am an official driver!! And I love it. I drove up to Harbin Hotsprings by myself and back for the first time from Marin last Thursday (March 22). I have been going there as a passenger for about 10 years. Yes it took me longer to drive that winding strip and I pulled over a lot for the faster cars but I got there in one wonderfully pleased piece. I arrived late afternoon, and soaked all evening up until the Unconditional Dance which was a ton of sweaty fun. Saw a number of close and new friends and felt very connected. I had Azalea 20 for the night with Ms Rebecca and it felt so fucking grown up to be the one who rented the room and invited a friend. Stayed up far too late that night floating with the V and slept little in. Cuddled with Ms R and then had the most incredible and impactful astrology reading in the morning with Hunter Reynolds. If you are looking for an astrology reading to crack you open, find him. I have had a number of readings over the decades with some renown astrologers (Jeff Green, Antero Ali etc etc) but none took the leap to connect the data to immediate emotions (how I was in that moment of receiving the reading) and current circumstances like he did. Pertinent, relevant and powerful. The reading was profound for me and has already contributed to a major shift in my life just a few days later. So, back to driving. I fucking love it. I love the freedom, I love being in my own space moving. No more waiting except for traffic jams. When I drove back from Harbin Sunday night after being on team as an assistant for a L3 HAI workshop (amazing workshops BTW) I missed my turn off of Tubbs Lane onto 128 and Petrified Forrest and had to call my BF to orient myself on 29 about 5 times. I got back to his place almost 3 hours later. It was a challenging commute at night because I was sleep deprived and my contacts were bugging out until I tossed them and put on my glasses. And it was dark and everything was foreign. I am use to going to Harbin with others via East Bay and not the 101. But I truly see all of this as my education on major freeways: what goes where and how. Even thought this typically 90-2 hour commute took me 3, I feel lucky and proud to have succeeded in my longest commute ever-going to Harbin and back, I feel simply great about making the trip. Every time I go to my car and feel a rush of joy and a sense of freedom. Every time I park my car in the lot across the street I feel lucky that I have eliminated what had always felt like the dreaded commute home after teaching a night class in SF. No longer at the mercy of pub trans. leaving my studio @ 10:30pm aand getting home an hour or more later. This commute is now 20 minutes! Time. I have much more time...and my actual commute is exciting. Driving is still so new and that tingle of excitement and me calling on myself to be alert as I listen to music or my learning tapes. Last week I wrote that I was being interviewed LIVE on Sex with Emily FM 106.9. Free Radio.(Sat. night) It went really well meaning I had a lot of fun. I thought I'd be more nervous but as it turns out, I loved Emily and being on her show was a treat-I had my notes and felt like I had a lot to say (of which I got thru about 25%).
