John McCain...makes me want to throw up. And I'm a disabled Veteran too. So?

    </a>
										<div>Dear MoveOn member,
For all the coverage this week of Senator John McCain's background, there are some important things you won't learn about him from the TV networks. His carefully crafted positive image relies on people not knowing this stuff—and you might be surprised by some of it.

Please check out the list below, and then forward it to your friends, family, and coworkers. We can't rely on the media to tell folks about the real John McCain—but if we all pass this along, we can reach as many people as CNN Headline News does on a good night.

Click here to tell us how many people you can pass it on to—and to see our progress nationally:

http://pol.moveon.org/mccain10/?id=12407-8076001-9aVuFd&amp;t=231

10 things you should know about John McCain (but probably don't):

1. John McCain voted against establishing a national holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Now he says his position has "evolved," yet he's continued to oppose key civil rights laws.1

2. According to Bloomberg News, McCain is more hawkish than Bush on Iraq, Russia and China. Conservative columnist Pat Buchanan says McCain "will make Cheney look like Gandhi."2

3. His reputation is built on his opposition to torture, but McCain voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban.3

4. McCain opposes a woman's right to choose. He said, "I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned."4

5. The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children's health care bill last year, then defended Bush's veto of the bill.5

6. He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations.6

7. Many of McCain's fellow Republican senators say he's too reckless to be commander in chief. One Republican senator said: "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He's erratic. He's hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."7

8. McCain talks a lot about taking on special interests, but his campaign manager and top advisers are actually lobbyists. The government watchdog group Public Citizen says McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates.8

9. McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult."9

10. He positions himself as pro-environment, but he scored a 0—yes, zero—from the League of Conservation Voters last year.10

John McCain is not who the Washington press corps make him out to be. Please help get the word out—forward this email to your personal network. And if you want us to keep you posted on MoveOn's work to get the truth out about John McCain, sign up here:

    </a>
										<div>To EVERYONE reading this: in todays world of pollution, electromagnetic radiation, high stress levels, crappy diets, lack of enough/proper exercise &amp; many other factors, It is vitally important that you/your loved ones rely not just on Western Medicine, which definitely has its advantages but is functionally limited and blind in many critical ways; but also on other methods that have been around for literally thousands of years and have long proven track records of efficacy. I'm not just talking about Traditional Chinese Medicine, which includes both Acupuncture &amp; Herbology, but of Homeopathy, Naturopathy, and Ayurvedic Medicine Traditons.
These methods work, people. At the very least, they can fuction as adjuncts to Western medicine methods to alleviate the disastrous side effects of treatments where the cure is almost as damaging as the disease. I know y'all are sick of hearing this from me, but I have to say it, my conscience demands it. I know that there are other options out there, they are deliberately suppressed by pharmeceutical corporations that criminally do know better but don't care where money is involved, the AMA who are just looking out for their own interests (see "where money is involved"), the FDA who is held hostage by these organizations, and individual MD's who just don't have enough information about other options out there. They really just don't know. Research is being conducted at thankfully increased rates, and is proving by leaps and bounds by scientific methods that these medical options work. Don't wait until its too late!
Conditoning &amp; propaganda are extremely effective techniques for keeping people blind, look through these and SEE. There is a vast wealth of information out there, grab some of it for yourselves. This is a HUGE part of the expanding consciousness that is crucial to evolving to our next level of Humanity.
Namaste y'all!
Cathy

    </a>
										<div>'M,Kay, I've been MIA for a time now for several factors: 1. Finances 2. School 3.1st crusie ever
I'm full steam ahead into my second semester of Acupuncture/TCM and have found my center, my home. my life, my way to achieve my dreams. Yes, I, the perpeptual student, have found that Holy Grail of Knowledge Acquisition...something I can be learning for the rest of my life. Which, as a result of said school, now appears to have vastly improved odds of continuing for a much longer &amp; healthier period of time.
As a super extra special bonus with vanilla bean ice cream on top, EVERYTHING I have ever done, studied, learned or worked at in my life has bearing or something to relate to learning this incredible Healing Art (very quickly becoming a fully validated Science as well). Even checking the pH...:) My mind is like a flower blossoming with all the avenues opened up before me. I can even smell the honeysuckle! Which reminds me: Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine WORK! From my personal experiences of being treated at the Clinic, I can vouch for the efficacy of being treated. What Acupuncture &amp; Herbs can't outright heal or cure, It can help alleviate symptoms of. It can help with pain (chronic and acute!), stress &amp; emotional disorders, nervous system disorders, congenital disorders, addiction issues of all kinds, build up &amp; support the Immune system (Lupus, Diabetes &amp; HIV pay attention!), treat Stroke &amp; Heart patients, change breech babies positions, and the list, seriously, goes on &amp; on. Virtually any condition can be supported &amp; helped, so please give it a shot! I have noticed with my own treatments that after several treatments, I started getting what I'm gonna call for lack of a better term "caffeine addiction headache syndrome" affect. Allow me to explain: you know that headache you get the next day when you havn't had your regularly scheduled caffeine fix? Personally, when I realize I have a headache &amp; go "yum, Dr. Pepper sure would taste good right now" my headache STARTS to lift. Doesn't go away, but knows caffeine is coming soon, and gets primed. This happens with Acupuncture too, your body remembers! It took me 42 years to get my body as problematic as it is, but after just a couple of months treatment I have noticed vast changes. So please, try this! If you want the mind boggling details of HOW it works, check out this site: http://www.yinyanghouse.com/theory/chinese/acupuncture_information for starters.
It really truly works! If you live here in Houston, its so cheap &amp; accessible that people need to know this resource is here, so tell your loved ones too...the phone number for the clinic is 713-780-9786, and the School website is: http://www/acaom.edu Check it out! MD's can get their Acupuncture credentials after just 100 hours, so tell your Dr.s too...most of them honestly just don't have enough information about Acupuncture. Any other ???? I can help answer, feel free to ask. I'm just not on the computer much, I dast not linger for fear of being sucked into the Tribe Time Trap vortex so if I'm slow getting back to you....its nothing personal, just LOTS going on right now. Good stuff, I assure you.
To all my friends trying to quit smoking: I'm so darn proud of y'all! It is seriously one of the hardest things you will ever do in your life, and I assure you the good feelings you will have about yourself later on blow away any feeling you think you get from a cig. So yayy for you! I found one of the hardest aspects of quitting was breaking the HABITS built in place around it. You know, you get in your car, close the door, put your seatbelt on, light up....or the first drink...or set break or whatever the situation where you normally smoke, you don't REALLY crave the nicotene, your just used to having it in your hand. Once you become aware of these, they don't trip you up. You know why your EXPECTING to have a cig in your hand, and that alleviates the COMPULSION to do so. Good luck! I'm seriously rooting for you!

On to...damn, College is EXPENSIVE! I know I have 3 fairly minor outstanding debts, I assure you they are on my mind but I just flat out can't settle them right now. I will do so ASAP, with interest, when I can. So Freddie, Stine, &amp; David: I know.

Which leads me to: Looking for work! I am a very talented Massage Therapist, and have gotten immensely better since learning about Acupuncture points &amp; meridians. I will come to you for a reasonable price, give you an outstanding massage, and leave you melting in your domicile. I truly want to avoid working for a company, and have reasonably flexible hours to work around schedules. I suggest you get me while I'm still reasonably priced, in another semester my prices increase dramatically (but not without good reason). My email is phlyfiremama@yahoo.com , so hit me there &amp; I will give you a landline #.

My Cruise experience: Amazing fun! Pete is my very favorite person in the world to be around, and his family is just about as nice. His parents, his Brother &amp; his wife, &amp; Pete &amp; I went to 6 Carribean Islands in 10 days. We flew to Puerto RIco (gorgeous Island! I'm in love...)
and went to sea on The Carnival Ship Destiny (Hee hee! Guess who I thought of every time we got back on!). Pictures will be forthcoming, as soon as I can get my Love to give me a copy from his computer. Our 1st stop was St. THomas (6 very enthusiastic thumbs up!), the next day we hit Domenica (quickly, invest your money into this Island before the rest of the world finds it! Invest now, plan on living there in about 10 years...from E. F. Cathy), 3rd was Barbados (surely one version of Paradise, for sheer awesome scenery it won hands down-and the prices reflect it), the 4th Island was St Lucia, &amp; Fifth was Antigua (sigh). 3 words about Antigua: Admiral Nelson's Dockyard Not what you think. One full day back at sea for Carnival to get one last chance at extorting money from you, and back to glorious PR! If you ever make it there, I will give you the information to go on an "off the beaten path" drive Pete &amp; I found by happy accident. BIg Fun! I had to scramble hard when I got back to make up the 2 days of school I missed, but I must say it was worth it.
I have to go for now, but thanks for checking in &amp; I will see you sooner or later...
Take care, safe travels, and keep on keepin' on!

    </a>
										<div>Now that I have your attention, I really am going to do this. First &amp; foremost, let me assure you that I would never turn away from what my true core beliefs are even if I DID use the current political structure to my advantage to vote for the Republican candidate I want in the PRIMARY elections. Bare with me, some people I know don't entirely get the whole voting process. Pay attention Class!!! The first round of elections are called the Primary elections, and those are the elections where the individual political parties pick their own Party members to go on as the General Election candidate. Democrats MUST vote for other Democrats; Republicans must vote for other Republicans, and so on. But, when the General Election rolls around not to long afterwards anyone can vote for anyone REGARDLESS of their political party affiliation. Its like you get 2 votes. At least I get to choose which REPUBLICAN wins in the Primariy election, and than I still get to vote again in the General election for whoever I want. Sweet!
I think this is my Republican guy: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/ Seriously, check him out. Watch the Colbert Report clip! I like him lots.
Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/videos/2007-06-13-colbert-report/
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Why Romney is a very very bad idea

<div>As a recovering mormon, I feel an urgent need to put forth this information, that the mormon church will most definitely not. The bottom line is, that if you are NOT a mormon, you don't count. Your going to hell anyway, so you don't matter in this life. They don't care if your another christian religion (ANY other religion), what your race is, what your personal beliefs are, if your not mormon your meaningless. Convert or else. What can you expect from a religion whose official doctrine divides heaven into 3 categories, so that you have to be the mormon-iest amongst the mormons to get to the 3rd level. Only in the last couple of decades has the mormon church even allowed people of color to be admitted to heaven, much less to hold all positions in the church.
I've said for years that they are the nicest snobs you will ever meet, but with so many in positions of real power this has become an almost prophetic phrase, and not nearly as cute as I once thought it was. If Romney wins the presidency, we will be in a religious dictatorship, aka Theocracy, under mormon rule. Make no mistake, this is a very real threat. The Bush regime has proven that there are NO checks or balances, and nothing will stop our country from plunging into catastrophe on a global scale. Who will care what happens to the earth, if "they" believe they are going to a better place anyhow?
So if someone asks why not the "great morally upright guy", keep in mind that if you aren't mormon, you DON'T MATTER. Period.</div>

I accepted at one point, and one day I realized as I was "read my friends blogs"-ing that virtually all of the posts were from this totally random stranger, all with pithy sayings I could have gotten off a cereal box. So I said, Self, this ain't right, deleted It from my friends &amp; now get to read unimpeded things that actually matter to me! So blog on, my friends, blog on, and know that at least 1 person reads your musings....
And hey, did you know that "Love is Everything" is LIE as an acronym? hmmmmmm..... </div>

The Weight of Cats

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/cathywhite/blog/64a22d1e-9ec9-4cbc-ae98-518f7e525037">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/b49/798/b497981e-63a9-47e1-8d41-27d6cab7faf7.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>Ok, so we all know the mythical equation of 1 year of human lifespan = 7 years of dog lifespan.
I hereby propose that there is a similar equation at work with the weight &amp; space taking capacity (catpacity?) of cats, insofar as a tiny 8 pound dainty feline suddenly weighs about 25 or so when they are laying on you, and that they can take up an entire king size bed, leaving you a tiny little sliver in which to comport yourself.
Similar experiences, anyone?

Ok, if you made it this far this is actually a several part blahg, with the secondary purpose of letting y'all know where I am right now. Pete &amp; I are gearing up for our Singapore/Thailand trip, so I've been laying low so as not to catch some indescribably horrid illness from sources unknown but lurking out there trying to infect me with some upper respiratory thing....heck, I can get that in Asia...:) Also, since we are leaving on Xmas day my holiday gifting prior to our trip is going to be slim &amp; sparse. I intend to redeem myself, however, by doing some incredibly cool shopping in THailand &amp; finding fabulously fun, appropriate, &amp; entertaining things to bring/ship back. I am chortling with happiness right now, thinking of being in foreign lands &amp; finding just the right thing for just the right person, and sharing my experience that way.
I am so looking forward to this, I've never been to Asia before! Lots of experiences in Western Europe, but it has long been a dream to hit the Far East. We fly into SIngapore, and will be taking a train along the coast to Phu Ket. Life is good y'all....
Love &amp; light,
Cathy

    </a>
										<div>I love the abbreviated version of things! I can usually fill in the rest, once the basic principle gets across...:)

The Four Agreements - By Don Miguel Ruiz
BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD.
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word
to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of
your word in the directions of truth and love.

DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY.
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a
projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune
to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of
needless suffering.

DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS.
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want.
Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid
misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement,
you can completely transform your life.

ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST.
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be
different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any
circumstance, simply do you best, and you will avoid self-judgement,
self-abuse, and regret.

    </a>
										<div>OK y'all, so the 3 of us made it back safe &amp; mostly sounder...:) Disclaimer: There is absolutely no way I could possibly explain what &amp; how Burning Man is unless you've been there. That being said, I have returned from the most incredible series of experiences in my lifetime. And I've made it a point to live a life much less ordinary; with lots of different facets to my core being. All the freaky people make the beauty of the world (Michael Franti, you said a mouthful!) and y'all give me a stack of useless bibles &amp; I'll swear on that. I cried lots, just like a little girl, at the sheer beauty in the world. People, music, clothes, paint, color, artistry, innumerably precious gorgeous pretty awe inspiring expressions of the human soul, to share with your fellow humans with no barriers and few obstacles. Unity, acceptance, respect, humor, love of life, cooperation (not competition!), space for expression without fear, and just plain playing. If you ever want to question how narrow your views on beauty, life, true tolerence, relationships, &amp; art are, than go to BM.
Besides, there are lots of really pretty blinking lights.
Bear (Bare?) with me y'all, I have been through a life transforming experience &amp; will be busy processing &amp; integrating this new &amp; improved reality. Wheeeee!

Tagged again!

<div>Yeah, alright already, I know the rules...if you see my blog, than tag YOURSELF again &amp; post 8 more, different facts about yourself. But no need to tag others, just post more info so we know!
1. My mom Marsha has been a societal outlaw since I can remember. I guess I get it from her. Yay Mom! Thank you so very much for a life less ordinary.
2. I love my contacts-I can come in from the cold without foggin up, walk in the rain &amp; still see, &amp; don't have to fumble for glasses to be able to see the clock. Yay!
3. My son Josh awes &amp; humbles me. He is such an amazing young man, smarter than me I'm very glad to say.
4. I can hoop like crazy, but want to learn more tricks. Yay hooping! It makes exercise fun....
5. San Francisco is my very favorite city, but I'm glad Idon't have to live there. The thought of having to evacuate from there makes me cringe.
6. I detest the current governmental regime. I hope they get turned out on their asses. The fact that Katherine Harris from Florida can even hold a public office throws the credibility of our entire govt into question. Judging from the crimes commited the last 2 elections, I'm not holding my breath for anything to improve.
7. Tribe rocks. Ive met more cool people thru this than just about anything except for Cheese tour, and I've even met most of them! And plan on meeting most of those I don't know already.
8. I live life in today. The future will take care of itself. I want to enjoy my life now, while I can, and work to make a living, not to make a dying like most people. Present company for the most part excluded.
So there! Anything else you really do need to ask me more...you know where I am.
Love &amp; light y'all!

    </a>
										<div>So, I have coined a new word: Freaknicity. Its sort of like ethnicity, but better. For example: My freaknicity is (insert word/words of your choice): Burner, hippie, deadhead, jellyphisher, etc. So, whats your freaknicity?

										<div>I have been tagged by August

RULES - Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 8 facts/things/habits about yourself, saying who tagged you. In the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.

1. I was in the military for a total of 12.5 years, and was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany for 2 years as a law enforcement specialist, where my son Josh was born. I met Terry Waite, who later got kidnapped &amp; held hostage.
2. The Hightailers &amp; the family at the Last Concert Cafe totally changed my life for the better, by showing me that there were truly people of love &amp; light "out there". The Jellyphish Lounge is a miraculous extension.
3. I was born in Dall-ass, TX; and have at various times lived in Houston, Sacramento, New Orleans, McAllen TX (Rio Grande Valley), Victorville CA, &amp; Germany.
4. I have been to London, Berlin (East &amp; West), Austria, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Venice, Milan and still want to hit Paris, Australia, the Far East, &amp; Central/South America.
5. I love costuming &amp; dressing up, &amp; partying like a rock star.
6. I met the greatest love of my life at Burningman Flipside 2 years ago, &amp; fell in love with him that night. Lucky me!
7. When I grow up, I wanna be just like my friends.
8. Burning Man is my religion, and the model for shaping the future of the world. Really. I Burn, therefore I am.

<div>So, I just love riding with my Dogs in the car...I get such enjoyment out of catching peoples reactions when my good buddies are sticking their big ass heads out the window. They are, after all, exquisitely beautiful creatures. Kids especially react with jaws dropping &amp; excited looks. I was very glad, and sad at the same time today...my youngest dog got out NYE &amp; was hit by a car &amp; died several days after that. I miss her so much! She was in her prime, &amp; I boo hooed several times today. I am looking for another dog, since I have room to house big ones. I am hoping to find a rescue Anatolian Shepherd, who will love my kitties &amp; my other dogs like Shera did. My 2 remaining are Anatolian/Great Pyrennes mixes, majestic &amp; everything good you look for in a canine. That reminds me, I need to check Tribe &amp; see if they have one for rescuing dogs. Maybe that was what Shera's death was leading up to? That some good might come of it. Heck, I can START that tribe...
Love &amp; light y'all....
