I was halftime entertainment. I'd been expecting an actual stage, not those carpeted risers.....so I had to make some quick adjustments to my plans and dance in shoes to make spins even possible. Yikes!

One of a kind Fluffy Ruffle & Lace flare pants

I made these fabulous pants for myself awhile back, but since I dance ATS most of the time I don't think I'm ever going to wear them. So I'm letting them go, hopefully to someone who can get lots of wear and fun out of them! They feature wide flared bottoms of layered ruffles, with the ruffles going up in a faux-garter design on the front thigh. The pants are double-layered white spandex for opacity. I also added the vertical stretch lace stripes for extra detail. They will fit a size Small (34-38" hip) and have a 31" inseam. I am asking $120 for these as they are brand new and involved a lot of detail work. I am also open to custom orders if the size isn't right, or if you have something a little different you'd like!

The trim for my choli had a pattern I liked, but the colours were boring (beige and mustard) so I re-embroidered it in nicer colours. Then I spent the car ride to Montreal doing the same for Valizan and Sophie. XD

Valizan, Sofia and I were shopping and found a great Indian wall-hanging made of all these different embroidered bits. I said "Hey wouldn't it be awesome if we took it apart and made panel aprons with it?" ...another wall-hanging (the one wasn't quite enough for the three of us), lots of seam ripping (we took all the little sections completely apart), creative rearranging and hand-stitching later, we each have two completely new wall-hangings...for our hips. XDXD My troupe complains that my bright ideas always end up too complicated and time-consuming... XD

Spanish/Tribal-style Vampire costume

Polaris (a sci-fi/media convention) had a "Victorian Vampire" themed costume party on Friday night this year, so I threw together a costume out of stuff from other ensembles, with pretty good results judging from people's reactions. I guess my outfit really stood out from the usual gothy styles. The corset and handmade bronze cuffs are from my 2003 Morpheus costume, the skirt and blouse are part of a bellydance costume I made last year, and the rest of the jewellery and accessories are part of my dance stash. I left the red-eye in as it seemed appropriate. LOL

I really like this one; it's a semi-formal houmongi. I dressed myself (still need practice...) and made the hair ornament. My friend Kevin was nice enough to do a shoot with me at Ad Astra this past March. At the Saturday night dance, I was doin' my thing when a couple of girls came up and asked me to teach them how to bellydance. I warned them that it takes a lot of practice but tried to show them some basic hip isolations and snake arms. Will probably end up doing a beginner workshop next year...oh boy, what have I gotten myself into?

I'm glueing all those tiny 1mm rhinestones into each little divot on the medallion. It seemed like a good idea at the time... In all seriousness though, it's not taking as long as I had feared. I got both armbands bejewelled in one evening; now just have the three medallions on the headpiece. I'm starting to get sick of gold and rhinestones, though....oof.
