In A Moment Of Gay Abandon...
or something, I have opened another etsy shop, purelypainting.etsy.com. I felt as if my paintings needed their own space, so that they could be seen without distraction. Someone clearly agreed with me, and promptly bought one within twenty minutes or so of the shop opening! Hurrah! I'm hoping that Matryoshka, the image pictured here, and the first to go into the shop, will bring abundance with her...that's certainly what she represents for me.Atchoo!
Excuse me! But it's the weather for having a cold, and I seem to be brewing something...sigh. More garlic, more garlic, I hear you cry! I'd quite like to go and sleep it off, but Robin, my DH, has a migraine, and he got to the bed first! I don't think he'd appreciate being sneezed at, somehow...besides, someone has to be awake to answer the phone. It's been a funny day, today. I've sent off some etsy mail, taken a piece out from the book press, where it was drying flat (successfully, I should add), made countless cups of (decaffeinated) coffee, drunk same, visited a neighbour and generally done nothing much in particular. Not anything that is meaningful, anyway. Lots of emails, a bit of writing... and an altered shoe. Yes, you read it right.
Why? Apart from, it seemed like a good idea at the time, you mean? Well, I'm taking part in a swap, and the task was to make a christmas themed shrine. So my shoe, which was a little pink leather thing, is now painted white and smothered in beautiful miniature glitter stars. It has the beginnings of a fairy totem doll, all white and silver... all it needs is a small christmas tree to go inside. And I mean small; it's a child's shoe, so there's not much room in there for a big thing! So tomorrow will bring a wander round the charity shops and possibly a warehouse where they really do have a LOT of things for Christmas decorating. The picture, btw, is one of my totem dolls, rather larger than the one for the shoe, but it gives you the idea...she's called Sibya, the Russian word for Self.
All I'll need to do then, is to decide What To Do With The Other Shoe...
