Alone With Everyone

the flesh covers the bone
and they put a mind
in there and
sometimes a soul,
and the women break
vases against the walls
and the men drink too
much
and nobody finds the
one
but keep
looking
crawling in and out
of beds.
flesh covers
the bone and the
flesh searches
for more than
flesh.

there's no chance
at all:
we are all trapped
by a singular
fate.

nobody ever finds
the one.

the city dumps fill
the junkyards fill
the madhouses fill
the hospitals fill
the graveyards fill

nothing else
fills.

Charles Bukowski

MY CURRENT LIFE CHALLENGE:

To be courageous enough to be vulnerable, then accept the consequences.
To be forgiving to myself and others, even when I know the intent is less than integral.
To live in the NOW.

My fave current excerpt is from Stephen King (when I read it I was a little taken aback that he wrote this, but...not really)
The greatest mystery the the universe has to offer is not life but size.
what is beyond the sky? what is beyond space?
what is beyond the galaxy? another galaxy? and beyond that?
No one knows, You see? Size defeats us.
One might take the tip of a pencil and magnify it.
One reaches the point where a stunning realization strikes home:
the pencil tip is not solid; it is composed of atoms which whirl and
revolve like a trillion demon planets. What seems solid to us is actually
only a loose net held together by gravity. Viewed at their actual size,
the distances between these atoms become leagues, gulfs, aeons.
One may step down further to subatomic particles. And then what?
Tachyons? Nothing? Of course not. Everything in the universe denies nothing.
Imagine the sand if the Sahara Desert- imagine a trillion universes- not
worlds but universes- encapsulated in each grain of that desert and within
each universe an infinity of others...

Cocaine is a like a Stripper.
You are searching for something but not quite sure what.
You think this will give you what you need, but it's
only a tease, a tingling sensation that almost gets
you there, but not quite....

Crisp morning;
I am sitting out in my balcony,
trying to find peace and balance.
A remedy from my previously hectic
and stressful day of running around.

I am smoking
and blowing out
towards the tree in front of me.
The one that protects me and my eyes
from seeing into the neighboring
apartment complex.

I think about how
trees have it easy,
standing there,
givng oxygen and
receiving carbon dioxide.

Then I think about
how they
just stand there
in one spot
for year... read more

I fucking hate the whole game playing feature in certain courtships and dating experiences.
I think game playing is for people who have nothing better to occupy their time with.
Why not spend that time thinking of creative ways to make the romance exciting or sweet?

I know I have said before that courtship is like a chess game that I engage in. I have been known to test a man's endurance, strength and intelligence (and at times patience!) But as far as the whole "I don't care about you" ... read more
