<div>I just need to say I love my husband. I love my children and I love my close friends. I believe all people have the potential to be remarkable, special and lovely. I smile at strangers. My husband holds the door for the elderly and mothers with their hands full. We love to help people whenever we can. I try hard to be good. I just don't understand how some people can be so mean. Who are any of us to think we are better than others. Who are we to judge? I guess we (my hubby and I) might have been like that before we were happy and strong spiritually. These are just trials I suppose. People have been placed in our paths to challenge us. To test our integrity. To teach us. I just have to remember to learn. Lashing out, smack-talking, being hateful....these do nothing but cause more problems. This ends with me.</div>

from my parents.....closing doors and new beginnings

<div>Buck, our big beautiful Belgian horse, died at 3:00 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2006, as a result of complications from an entangled small intestine. Buck loved to roll in the mud which likely caused the entanglement (according to the veterinarians). Buck was 15 --- that’s approximately 54 in human years.

Buck was born in 1991: he was raised and trained in Ashville, North Carolina, where he was first employed as a Biltmore carriage horse. He was bought by a harness-maker in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and traveled the show circuit demonstrating leather work. As part of these demonstrations, Buck participated in obstacle course competitions and in log-pull competitions where he pulled as much as 4,000 pounds, or twice his weight. The harness-maker moved to Cumberland County, Tennessee, and sold his team, Buck and Rocky.

We bought Buck and Rocky in 1996 and started First Capitol Carriages, a specialized horse-drawn carriage service based in Knoxville, Tennessee. With his flowing blonde mane, his head held high, and his majestic high-stepping prance, Buck ultimately became our “star” horse. Our beautiful Buck made friends everywhere he went: the 4th-graders at A. L. Lotts Elementary; the visitors to the annual “Honor Fountain City Day”; the attendees at Old Gray Cemetery’s annual tour; the merchants and guests on Market Square; the good folks in Laurens, South Carolina; and most of all, our “family” at The Foundry in Knoxville.

We’ve had ten years together, traveling all over East Tennessee, Southern Kentucky and the Carolinas to participate in weddings and other special events. We’ve had some good times and made many wonderful memories. We began our business with Buck and we have decided that Buck’s demise is an appropriate time for us to end our business. We say a heart-felt “thank you” to all the good people we have met and had the privilege to work with during the past ten years. We feel that God has closed the door on this phase of our life and we anxiously await the window which we know He will open for us.

<div>So I was asked to do a little performance at my daughter's school. I arrived in full regalia because, as many may know, children are the hardest critics sometimes!! They were all very excited as I began to dance to Ekova's Starlight in Daden, one of my favorites to dance to. The 'ooohs' and 'ahhhhs' were very encouraging and everytime I did a big hip circle they all cheered! I was really sweet. One of the children, a little boy named Zachary, was all about it! After the demonstration, I held a little workshop. I taught them snake arms, hip lifts, hip circles and tummy rolls. Zachary didn't want it to end, he kept asking me to teach another move! It was just lovely. My daughter, Eva, was my assistant and was just so excited to stand in front of everyone and show them that she knew these moves. Eva is currently the most popular girl at the school and I don't think the teachers will ever forget it! Can you just imagine their suprise when I walked in?? It was hilarious and it made me feel great to show these kids what I do. I've posted pix if you care to take a look.</div>

Bratz? not my daughter

<div>ok, so a bunch of people, mostly parents are thrilled to buy these dolls called "Bratz". Does nobody have a problem with their daughter playing with something called Bratz? We do not allow them in our home. On a similar note, I can't stand the idea of my daughter having a shirt with "Flirt" or "Tease" emblazened across her chest either....and I have seen these shirts for girls as young as 7. What is wrong with the world??? Why are we condoning these things? Why are they making our daughters grow up so fast and become sex symbols!! I could lock her up to protect her, but that is obviously not an option. What scares me is there is only so much I can do. Between every doll on the market being covered in makeup and wearing provocative clothes, TV, friends at school whose parents allow all this stuff and so much more, I am out-numbered.</div>

 <div>
I just found out that our family dog (which my parents had) has died. Tyra , our little rat terrior, was hit by a car yesterday. My brother got her when she was a puppy and we all loved her. She was like a our baby, my neice, and we all wanted to spend time with her. I would babysit her sometimes for the weekend. She was the smartest, coolest dog we ever had. My kids all loved her as did we. She was part of our family as much as all of us...she went everywhere with my parents....my dad is devestated. We will miss her very much.

I called my husband, crying, and he goes on to say that we should get my parents a new dog, that it's just "a dog" and she can be replaced. I didn't want to go off on him while he is at work (I'll save it for when he gets home), but I wanted to ask him if we could just replace one of our children if they died. I know some may not think that's even comparible, but seriously, I didn't even cry this much when my grandfather died. Because I wasn't as close to him as I was to this little dog, sad, but true. Sadly, I am across the country and I can't be there for my parents. Mom said that in their 35 years together, she has never seen my father cried until this....I want to be there for them....I hate crying on the phone. ugh...now I have to tell my kids...........
