The Marsh Needs a House Manager

The Marsh is looking for a House Manager! This is a part time position. Must be able to work evenings and weekends when performances take place.

The Marsh is a non-profit theatre located in the Mission district that supports new and upcoming performers and performances. Our focus tends to be on solo performance. For more information about The Marsh, go to www.themarsh.org.

Duties:
Preparing and opening house; supervising and maintaining cleanliness of bathroom facilities; ensuring comfort and safety of patrons before, during and after performance; managing door list; ticket taking; handling of money; completing nightly reports; responsibility for volunteers; making pre-show welcome announcements; cleaning house and restocking at the end of the night.

This position requires dependability, an outgoing and friendly personality with a desire to be helpful to the audience while effectively following procedures. Ability to work with grace under pressure, make quick decisions and handle emergencies. And of course, you must love theater!

Time commitment: Typically ninety minutes prior to show time until all audience members have departed. Normal shift runs about 3.5 – 4 hours. We are looking for someone that can be available 2-3 nights a week. However, someone that understands the ups and downs of theater and knows there may be weeks with only 1 shift. We are also very flexible.

Previous experience with House Managing a plus, but we are willing to train the right person(s)!

Position available beginning mid-April for training and May for start.

This position pays $40/show. That is roughly $10/hr.
