My Blog

So that's it then...

On July 21st (I believe that's the date, though I guess I could be wrong...time's begun to blur for me), Kitch decided that he no longer wanted to work through our relationship issues.

I admit right now I'm fairly angry about it all. There are things he's said to people I interact with which, quite frankly....he's only given them a part of the picture.

Point in fact, he told one of the ladies I dance with that we're breaking up due to:
Lack of sex
I lie to him

What I find interesting is that there's only half of the story there to be told.

I don't know what to do right now.

I told him that what he did was careless and thoughtless. The reasons for our breakup really aren't anyone else's business.

He says that the lady he told is his friend, which is why he told her.

Someone he met through me.

Because of what he did...well, I'm still thinking of quitting bellydancing locally. I'm not the frigid person I ~know~ he's painted me to be. There is so much more to the story that he TOLD me he didn't tell her.

Thankfully I have this week off from classes; and I'm going to decide what to do. I don't know if I'll return or not. Part of me says "Fuck him. How DARE he try to ruin the ONLY thing I have here in Kansas? How DARE he?!"

The fact of the matter is pretty simple; I'm well aware he wants to hook up with his "friend". Hell, even she knows it. So, lord knows what kind of trash talk he's given up in an attempt to get in her pants.

Anyway, as the plan stands now, I'm staying here so my son can stay in the same school. I'm going to evaluate where I'm at in a year and either return to Texas or stay here.

I don't know if I'll continue dancing though.

I would like to think the women I dance with won't judge me. I'm pretty sure they won't. Most of them are savvy enough to know that:
Men'll say or do whatever they can to get laid
That there are two sides to EVERY story
It takes TWO people to ruin a relationship

I don't know. At least I've got a week to think about it though.

Spills, owwies and other assundries...

While it seems we're so busy, the reality is that, simply we're not.

Oh hell, I can make myself sound like the busiest woman on the planet, but, I'm just not.

The past few weeks included a sickness which caused violent vomiting and...well..suffice to say NOTHING remained in my body for about 3 days. The upswing? I lost about 10 lbs. The double upswing is that about 7 of it has remained off.

Wednesday of last week I decided to go riding for fun on the one horse (out of the 5 [!!!] in our pasture) that I'm currently allowed to ride, and he was a total jackass about it. So much so that I got thrown. That was REALLY unpleasant; but, at least the ground was nice and soft so I didn't feel like I did the last time. I do think I got a minor case of whiplash though. That evening was bellydance, and I was having trouble with anything having to do with my hips, but by the time I got home, I could barely move my neck. Talk about painful. ARGH!!! I'm just now back to where I can move my neck around freely.

Friday I went out to find 4 out of 5 of my horses laying down (I'll include pictures later), and the 5th was standing on 3 legs. NEVER a good sign. Finally ended up calling the vet out; absess. Lovely. And EW! So, we now spend about an hour a day with the one horse in our pasture who's strictly ornamental. Figures. :p

Saturday and Sunday were purely lazy days (except for pasture time). Watched ID4, and Armageddon and then later I got to watch a girlee flick (a PBS movie; they're doing some Jane Austen movies).

Today was also fairly lazy, with a bit of pasture time to do some soaking of hoof, then back home again with a bit more lazyish time.

I did get the new router installed; it's not working QUITE right for my desktop (I have GOT to just suck it up and do my upgrade to XP), but seems to be alright now for my laptop.

I've also got a LONG list of things which need to be done today. They won't all get finished, but...gonna try.

And with that...I'm off to go work on the laptop; maybe play some Neopets or some Howrse and surf eBay for cowrie shells and coins. Someone posted a FANTASTIC hair fall tutorial and I'd like to try my hand at making some LOOOOONG hair falls for the Ren Faires this year. Heck, I figure even my pirate personna can do them. Just...not quite sure how to affix them along with the hat. :| I'll get it puzzled out though.

Up next is to find a GOOD tutorial on hair gardens. Oh, and maybe tribal makeup. I suck at this kind of thing.

Anyone got any suggestions?

My Thoughts on Bellydancing

Well, at least as it pertains to me.

I dance with a wonderful and talented group of women (Sahara Wind). All of the women I dance with are beautiful and smart and graceful.

Me-not so much. I don't mind that though. It sounds weird, but it's true.

I don't pick up the moves as quickly as the others do. I'm not as graceful as they are. I'm, well, let's face it, I put the "belly" in "bellydance", and I'm just awkward.

However, with that said, when I dance as a part of the whole, I feel alive. I feel good. I feel in tune with myself, and I feel like I'm part of something larger than myself.

I will never be a solo dancer. I have no desire to be. I want to be a "chorus girl". A member of the troupe, not someone who wants to be featured (how's that for a Leo? o.O Yeah, not Leonine at ALL!).

I just want to blend in. Be part of the whole.

It makes me happy to be that way.

In a few months, I'll be starting over anew in a new place. I'm hoping I can find a place to continue dancing. I'm hoping I can find another group of women who will let me join in and dance with them.

I hope.

Holy Bananas!!

I'm apparently better at updating my Livejournal. Lame.

It snowed here.

I don't do snow.

I'm from TEXAS, dangit!! And in Texas, when it snows, we ALL stay home!!

I did stay in yesterday, but today I HAD to get out. I don't like it. The road I have to drive down to get to the horses is a dirt road, and it was mostly ice and snow. I mostly parked Rabbit IN the road (my tires stink), put on my emergencies, and fed the horses. Took Rio's blanket off and that was that.

Oh yeah, except having to walk UP the hill to the pasture in the SNOW DRIFTS!! Holy GEEZ!! I was buried to my stinking KNEES!!

That said, nothing's prettier than watching your horses run and frolic in the snow.

I watch them run and play, and just seeing them, their coats of many colors as they shift and move over the blanket of white, it always makes me think of a jeweler who's taken precious gemstones and cast them out upon a white canvas. So many colors; jewel bright against the snow. Even better is the living artwork that they are.

Looking at houses tonight. Uprooting again. No big deal, really. Well, it IS because it's moving further north, but...that's not the problem. Well, there's really not a problem, per se. I'll have to see if I can find a place to dance at. See if I can maybe find some friends. We'll have to find us a new vet and farrier. But, those're the minor things.

It's the packing up the house and MOVING part that's the big deal. WOW do we have stuff. I'm currently trying to offload some of my stuff. Things I've had hanging around for years that I no longer need.

And now, the house is silent. The lamp on the table next to make makes that high-pitched "whine". Hunter's snoring peacefully. The cats are even quiet tonight.

I'm going to settle in to read for awhile. "The Farthest Shore" by Ursula K. LeGuin. Fascinating series if you're into fantasy fiction.

Tomorrow and Sunday shall be busy days. Off to see horses and puppies. I'm so excited! I get to visit with "old" friends (we've now known them for about a year and a half), and I get to meet a new one.

Wow, neglected much?!

Just slightly I should think!

Currently listening to some music and just piddling around online playing Neopets and getting back into that groove before Advent starts back up again.

It's gently raining outside, and has been for the past few hours. I had to send Hunter home tonight as he has to turn up for work tomorrow in Nebraska. He was supposed to only be off work for 1 week, but it was stretched into 2 weeks, which was a good/bad thing.

The good thing was that it WAS a 2 week vacation.

The bad thing was that it was because he hurt his wrist. Badly.

And by "badly" I mean it's in a cast right now.

How'd he manage that?

WEEELLLLL, a few months ago, we went to visit Strider's breeder and see what new stock she had in. Fell in love with one of her mares and said if/when it was time for her to be sold, let us know. I also wanted to fawn over the mare's colt who I felt was the pick of the year for her foal crop. Well, life being what it is, she's having to sell the colt.

So, we went down on a Thursday afternoon to try out her and another mare and take one more look at the colt.

Well, I rode the first mare, but it was an effort just to get her to move, so I nixed her for a mount. The colt is, as always, nice. So, Hunter wanted to try out the mare. In the pasture. With another mare and a gelding.

The mare's advertised as greenbroke. Well, she is! The other mare paniced, causing the mare Hunter was riding to panic, so she took off into a gallop. Hunter came off. Boo-boo'd his wrist.

We're still buying the mare.

And her colt from this year.

And a gelding.

Which brings us to 6.

I can't wait :) 3 riding mounts!! YAY!!!!

Tomorrow is "Getting back to Housework" day since I've neglected things around here.

But, for now, I'm going to go take a shower, maybe put a movie in, do some laundry, and see what the evening holds!! :)

So, how're you all doing? :)

Another late night...

Last night I was up until about 5 am.

Why?

Because I was attempting to make (from scratch) a coconut cream pie for the boyfriend.

Well, so I cheated on the crust and used a frozen one, but the filing was scratch! :p

The filling came out, I think, alright. I'm not a fan of coconut, so I didn't try it except to lick my finger after swiping the edge of the bowl. Seemed coconutty.

The merengue, on the other hand...a total flop! *sigh*

Also made a chocolate pie, but cheated and used a mix for that.

Had to wait to let them cool, then put 'em in the fridge.

Why hello there 5 am!

*insert brief sleep*

Why hello there 9:30 am!

Long, long day.

Ran out to Wyndswept Winery to get some juice (yes, juice-NOT wine). Then to Dillon's for a few groceries. Off to the bank, and then home again. At which point, Hunter arrived.

Left the house to run even more errands.

Stop by Red Wing Shoes; second pair of steel toes Hunter's had to have replaced in less than a year with them. This pair lasted all of 2 months. o.O What's with that?

Off to World Market where Hunter replaced my beloved Papasan. Hello early birthday gift! I was torn between the microsuede cushion and a red cotton one. Took the red cotton one and figure that, perhaps come wintertime, I'll replace it with the microsuede. If they'd had a red microsuede one though, I'd have taken it.

We bought a few other things at World Market as well, and tooled outta there.

Grabbed dinner at the Peking Buffet place on Rock. Horrible. Never EVER again. We've been in 3 times, and always left with a less than favorable impression. But tonight just clinched it. Think we'll stick to Good Fortune here in town. They, at least, are fairly consistent, plus friendly (and it helps that, as rarely as we come in now, they STILL remember us, STILL seat us at "our" table, and STILL know that we want Hot and Sour soup and an order of egg rolls and that Hunter likes the hot spicey stuff).

Off to WalMart where Hunter bought himself some new clothes for work. HOOOOOORAY!! He needed them, so I was glad he let himself buy some new clothes.

Home again, got Austin into bed, I sprawled on the floor with Dottie while waiting on laundry to wash and dry, checked email and stuff and Hunter worked on photographing his guns and such.

So, here it is, late again, and I'm doing laundry. Bleck. :(

Tommorrow is up early, some errands, pack like a madwoman, then back to Tulsa to meet up with Dad. Sunday we head out for Nebraska. Should be returning home on Monday evening. Not sure what's happening from there.

Rumor has it-at some point in the upcoming week, we're going to Rock River Rapids. :) I'm glad about this. I worry Austin's had a pretty boring summer, so I'd like to do something kind of fun before school starts again.

Another day, another dollar

Today, overall, was "just a day".

I did a little bit here and a little bit there, which overall added up...just, not quite how I anticipated.

I sat down to review some of my Clinton Anderson DVDs so that I could send off Part I of "Gaining Respect and Control on the Ground" to Nebraska with Hunter. I'm somewhat loathe to part with them though, as I always get that twitchy "NeedToReview" thing happening. However, Socks and Strider seem to be doing...well, not perfectly, but alright. A little bit more review and I think we'll be better.

After that, I tackled a little bit of cleaning downstairs. I did the bathroom on Saturday, but I'll do it again before he gets home. Really, the worst room in the house is the computer room, and I have no CLUE what to do with this mess. I've let the table get out of control while working on it, so that needs to be tidied up. Mostly because I anticipate him wanting to play on my computer when he gets home.

I started prepping dinner REALLY early tonight so that I could have time at the barn to work with Strider before riding Socks. Poor Rio kind of gets neglected.

Oh, yes, the horses. Socks, "my" first horse. 7 year old Bay Sabino Arabian. Registered name is "El Sidar". Rio, Hunter's horse. Bit of a rescue case there. 11 year old Chestnut Peruvian Paso. Registered name is "HDR Favor del Rio". Strider, also my first horse...colt...baby. He'll be the first horse I've ever raised from weanling to riding horse. Yearling Black Paso Fino. Registered name is "MGAs Fuerte del Energia".

Anyway-hit the barn while they were pulling the mares out of their pasture, so I just nabbed Strides and put him into the round pen to take some pictures. I love watching him. His antics make me laugh. And when he stops, and just "drinks" in the world? It makes my heart stop and goosebumps race over my skin. To know that I've influenced his life so much, and made him who and what he is today...WOW! Perfect? Oh no. But well mannered overall. Still has "coltish" moments.

Worked with him on being tied tonight. He gets bored quickly. He'll learn. I'm planning on giving him a tying lesson one of these days.

I'd planned on Monday to go out on Wednesday and ride with another of the boarders. She mentioned it to our Barn Owner, so all 3 of us decided to ride together tonight.

Socks has gotten SO barn sour since we moved him into a barn. It's frustrating. He used to travel down the road...well, not perfectly (cars still make him nervous and weird/strange noises make him jittery), but better than he does now.

So, with 2 other horses, away we went.

He did wonderfully leaving the barn. Calm, relaxed, low headset (which is different as usually he doesn't travel in that "Western Pleasure" frame), just calm and at ease. He did great down the road, and wonderfully in the pasture. Trotted like a champ (even that nice little floaty Arab trot) and did wonderfully.

Heading home though, he got a little bit spazzed out twice. Once was from some guys working on a house powerwashing the windows I think. The hissing noise freaked Socks out, so he whirled and bolted. No biggie, I stuck on him and got him stopped (always ALWAYS I forget the one rein stop though. DUH!). Headed back with some pats and reassurance as we went by the same place again. He just eyeballed it, pricked his ears and gave it a wide berth.

The second scenario happened as one of the other girls wanted to stay and lope her boy in the field for a moment. She was coming up behind us, I heard her, and was telling Socks she was coming up. His ears were back, so I too thought he heard them coming. Nope. He freaked and took off again. Once again, I just stuck with him and got him stopped.

Really, overall he did wonderfully. I don't have a single complaint with him.

Rode my new-to-me saddle and am in LOVE with it. AHHHHH!! My butt doesn't hurt like it does in that other saddle of mine. I adore this saddle. Looks like a Circle Y, but is some off brand that I only found by trial and error market as an endurance saddle. I can see why-gel seat and gel in the stirrups, and it's lightweight. Perfect for my fat Arab.

And now, here I am. Half planning out the weekend, etc.

No clue really what's going on though. Hunter'll be down tommorow afternoon, here all day Friday and sometime Saturday we'll return to Tulsa to meet dad. Then Sunday morning, up to Nebraska. Turn around, come home, then turn around and head back. Return to Kansas right before school starts.

I feel busy, though I know I'm not.

Maybe Friday during the day we can go to Rock River Rapids or something fun for Austin. I'm afraid he's kind of gotten gypped this summer just doing back and forth to Tulsa, some days at the barn, but mostly hanging out here with me. :(

Okay...off to do...something.

There's always got to be a first, right?

Most of my blogs and other diarys almost always seem to begin that way. I guess it's only fitting that this one falls in line with all the others, right?

And, like most people who say that they don't know what they're going to post-well, that's me as well.

I got "Tribe" confused with "Bhuz"; I thought I had an account here, but I didn't until...well, just now.

Let's see; slightly frustrated that Livejournal is down. One of my friends from Austin wants to buy at least one of my skirts, and I have another friend from Round Rock also interested in the same skirt. However, with LJ down, I can't contact either to confirm this, and I need to get an answer ASAP or they'll just have to wait for me to place a second order.

Killing a few minutes before I get up and get to work around here.

Of course, by "killing a few minutes" I really mean "Browsing Horsetopia and dreaming about our next horse". BAD thing. Plus, I keep hoping to stumble across that "magically priced" Friesian. So far, they're all 3/4 or 1/2. And none of the Clydesdales I'm looking at are priced right, close enough or the right color (I can be picky if I want to :p I want a black/white Clyde as my next horse).

Okay, enough procrastination. I've got stuff I MUST get done tonight as tommorrow evening I'm supposed to go riding with Gala. And I'm pretty useless during the days. My bio-rhythm's just that way.

Guess we'll see how long this blog lasts! :)
