Ben And jerrys at 3801 hillsborough street welcomes all who like to play It's back Funky friday. Friday the 13th from 7:30-10:00pm. Come out and play! fire dancers, poi dancers, hoopers, belly dancers, jugglers and drummers. We welcome all those who want to play. Come out and join us! And for those who might be interested... America I got talent!

I went out to charolotte friday night and stayed with friends. That way i didnt drive out that morning for the auditions. i had the 12-3 audition spot. We got there about 10 am. There was lots of people in line. Lots of singers. We got there just in time for the outside group shots. I had my veil fans so i took them out and waved them so you will be able to tell where we are standing. we waiting about an hour and a half to get into the building. after we got in and got settled. i started to warm up. so i start swinging and people think hey look a space to walk through. (never mind the woman swinging the big spikey balls. ) so we grabbed a chairs and made a circle for me to pratice in. Im swinging the spikes and one of the pa's comes over and asks if i can do her a favor. She askes if i could play with my scarves cause they show up better on camera. So i play with the flags. its starting to get crowded. ANd people still using my circle to walk through. Again never mind the woman swing objects around. So i get called over to practice in the one of the chair circles the producers made. the pa has me pratcie in this cicrle with girls who are acrobats. Again never mind that I am swinging things lets throw in girls doing back flips. They open up the side of the ballroom to make more room. SO we pateintly wait for our num,ber to be called. as numbers are called people scream like they won the lottery. finally i here my number called me and my friends walked over to nigel (the english dude in charge.) and go outside the ballroom and follow a the line we wait against the wall near some more ballrooms. and wait some more. waiting i am in the line to audition. i chat with some of the other contestants. Finally it time for me to audition. They tell me i have 90 seconds. Be ready to perform. I grab my basket go inside drop on the side and grab the toys i need. I say hi! how are you? I stand on the x. He looks at me and says didnt you audtion before? I said yes is that a good thing? He laughs and says yes. I tell him the ususaly age, name what i do. I do my audtion. my music is longer then the 90 seconds. so i chorerograpgh to 90 seconds. I got to doa butterfly and my spikes bump. ack! I keep going but im miffed. I here my 90 second cue to stop but he doesnt asked me to stop. after about another 30 seconds i stop and tell him that all i choerograpghed to. he askes me where i perform and if my space has videos. I was so neverous and i told him i was more neverous this time and i keep moving off my my x. he tells me that i would find out in about a month and i leave. im told to hang tight for a moment. the guys outside the door tells me and my crew to follow matt. So i do. we chat with him as he takes us back to the ballroom and i get my polorid taken again. im told to stay where they coould find us. i get there as they are doing more promo stuff. we are waiting and get bored so i start playing with toys. peopl start walking up to me and i chat and show them how to use my toys. then a english lady grabs me "you come over here bring " i ask her if i need to bring a toy. she says the sparkly sivler ones i have in my hands are fine. The are doing the group shots of the contestants and puts me in the front. and the tey do some more of the american we got talent shots. At one point the director asks for some love. I told him I loved him. he says thank you i need that. after that was done. more waiting... and more waiting. finally a girl calls me over. okay we need you now. They have another circle of chairs. They had me play with some toys but the camera wasnt quite ready. More waiting. i talk to the young girls waiting also they ask me all sorts of question about my toys. finally ready. i ask dirctor what toy. he says the colorful flags. I grab them in such a way they look like one. i satrt swing it and he ask starts to ask didnt you have... just then i separate the flags in one smooth move. "ohhhh" he was a little impressed. So played with them for a while. then they asked me to get the spikes. I play with them and played a little withthe crowd watching. finally he asks me to do a trick and stop and say America I got Talent. And i did it a couple of times. ithen i finally could go. it was a fun but tiring day.

internet yard sale

I find myself stressed cause money is really tight. between needing money so i can go to charolotte and im going to have to move very soon.i have to do something to get extra money in. Since moving is in the future, Im going through my costumes and crafts, abd i will be listing for sale good costume and crafts i really dont need anymore. and hopefully be able to raise some extra cash and give them a new home. If i can get ball chain the place i get it from has been out for a month. i will be making poi and other toys too. I have some sock poi ready to go. Im going to start listing tonight, thanks for reading.

I think i figured out how to make them . i found a wonderful india store that had light weight chiffon scarves that are wonderful. I can also make flags from these. which means if i wanted to i could teach flgas cuase i could make inexpeinse flags to teach with. WEEEEEE. I have discovered that i really want to start teaching. Between poi, flags, flag poi, little hoops there has got to be something someone wants to learn. Talk to you soon.

Sad news about my job at the costume shop

It is my sad duty to report that after 32 years Raleigh Creative Costumes will close its doors. We have lost our lease and after exhausting all other avenues we now must close.
