I love arts and crafts. My favorite art form is carving. I mostly carve pendants from jade, bone and tagua nut. Beyond that, any creative activity is likely to have called to me at some point. I collect hobbies and find myself trying to be a little bit of everything. I may not be good at such, but I can try.

I am also in love with fire arts and fire spinning, but I suspect you already noticed that.

Those are my hobbies, the rest of the time I work in a science lab running a machine you have probably never heard of.

My Blog

I updated my facebook status, and as a result got a call from a good friend from high school who was in Seattle. His flight out was cancelled and he happened to be a few blocks away. He was meeting up with a friend to go sledding, so we joined in. His friend just happened to be friends with the girl whose sled I had borrowed and broken the night before. She also joined us for another day of sledding, then bars.
Yay, small world.

My friends left this morning and are braving the snow. ... read more

If it slides, then it is a sled. The best ones were: Trashbags, baking trays, laundry baskets, a car bumper, dumpster lids, street signs, a surfboard and inflatables. There were real sleds, snowboards and skiis as well.
Failed ones i... read more

So there is a salmonella outbreak in red roma tomatoes. Everything tomato related is now not worth the risk of selling. Why are they pulling green salsa off the market? I mean, its not made from tomatoes--its tomatillos. It is heavily processed and produced here in California--which is listed as one of the sources that has not been implicated in this mess.

I asked today and was told, "Its not worth the risk."
My reply was, "I'll risk it, can I have some?"
"No, we can't get it, t... read more

Life has continued to be busy, but good. Thanksgiving break was exactly what I needed.
I spent thanksgiving itself carving jade and getting drunk with housemates. That weekend I got to see Jess--who is no longer on tribe and thus I can talk about her all I want ;-). And oddly enough, there are only a couple of people on my friend's list here who know her. For anyone who doesn't know--Jess is my ex that I dated officially for 3.5 years. We had an awesome day hanging out in santa cruz and w... read more
