Hi Everyone,

I started a group at Care2 to place the American Wolf back on protected species act. The American Gray Wolf is part of the American Heritage just like the Bald Eagle and exterminating them to please cattle ranchers (actually after checking the statistics on cattle lost I found that only 1 was caused by a wolf or wolf pack, the rest were by wild dog packs). The other reason is if they take the wolf off protected status this will open the forests they live in to logging, thus stripping our lands. There is enough cement in the US of A and we need our wooded lands to protect our wild animals. The Fish and Wildlife Department of the US teamed with the ranchers and loggers to take the wolf population in the US down to 2500. This would not support future breeding and would eventually make the wolf an extinct animal.
