Moth or butterfly?

neither..... It's a very, very, very young Mothra.



OK, serious answer, I'm going with moth because of the wing structure. I see the knobs on antennae, but I think that is a rare variation.

I'm thinking moth because of the resting wing position (spread out as opposed to together at the back) and the furry-looking body. I can't really see the antennae well enough. Also, the color - nocturnal moths are more likely to be pale, muted colors.
