Back in 97-98 a high school friend of mine had a double lung transplant. She had cystic-fibrosis and at the time of the transplant had only a single lung. She survived the surgery and was granted the gift of lungs from a healthy 17 year-old girl who had died during a dental surgery. (Ironic that we can transplant lungs but can't get a 17 year-old through a dental surgery?)
