Everyone from the Gulf Coast is suffering from various forms of Post Traumatic Stress +/- whatever else. New Orleans folks do have it the worst - they are still being fucked every day (why do you think I had to leave the only place I consider home!)
The Red Cross is finally doing something cool. They have what they are calling a scholarship fund. They have $1000 for every victim to pay for mental health. It is even retroactive and they will reimburse you! They do couples, psych medications, talk therapy, group therapy - whatever you need. And you can go to whoever you want. The provider can bill them directly or they will reimburse you. I know we all need this - it's free and enrolling is SO SO SO easy.
Do yourself and everyone around you a favor - take advantage of this program! Especially if you are still in New Orleans where mental health has been so hard to find.
