Once upon a time, There was a little girl names Celeste who loved to sit in her recording studio programming sexy beats to sing over. She dreamed of the day her music would be on iTunes for the world to dream to. She was sad, because the big evil dragon that guarded the entrance to the iTunes castle walls, was big and mean and breathed smoke and wouldn't let small indie artists pass. But one day Celeste baked him a cake and he was so happy (because nobody had ever done that for him before) and he let her by to pursue her dream of getting her music to the good people of the kingdom! Hello. My name is Celeste, I am a 28 year old femalian electronic music producer/vocalist with a recording studio based in Venice beach, Los Angeles. I program downtempo, drum and bass and electro/alternative rock-ish music, I have a degree in sound engineering, my own label (Boutique electronique Records) and years of music theory training and am a very driven musician with free time to work. When I perform, it's typically with a laptop and somebody triggering Ableton loops - a power duo, which works nicely for travelling. I have been gigging around the west coast with one Venice based programmer this spring, but he is moving up to S.F. so I am putting my feelers out for another programmer/producer type for some gigs and festivals I am setting up for this summer (plus the possibility of a late summer European tour, which my entertainment attorney is trying to set up). I have a 40 minute set of my own material, but I would love to co-write as well. I will pay you per gig. I am looking specifically for somebody, male or (females encouraged!!!) with producing experience, MUST be professional, driven and dependable, MUST be easy going, fun loving, AGE 24 TO 38 only please - and you should have a flexable schedule this summer - especially on weekends. I am looking for a musical co-conspirator based in Los Angeles (prefferably the Westside), age 25 to 37 who likes down-tempo, D&B, electro and ambient styles of music, is sequencer savvy, (Ableton/Reason/??), Maybe plays bass/keys, HAS FREE TIME, is driven, likes to co-write, is creative, friendly and down to earth. This is for a simple electronica Duo to perform around LA and ???. My name is Celeste Lear, I am an established, driven 28 year old female electronic music programmer/vocalist/multi instrumentalist with a home recording studio, her own record label and 2 CDs out on iTunes and Rhapsody. My music is often compared to artists like: Portishead, Bjork, POE, Plaid, Massive Attack, Theivery, Tori Amos, Moorcheeba, Ekova, Lamb, Kate Bush, ect...
