Funny how things change.  *grin*

Work:  For those that do not know, I quit working for the Sheriff's Office back in March.  I certainly loved my job, and when I tranferred back to Santa Rita I had an excellent crew to work with in my inmate housing unit.  There were four of us; me and three deputies who worked together like a well-oiled machine. That wasn't the problem.  The problem was when my work decided that my schooling was no longer a "justifiable goal" in their eyes.  They are the ones that drew the line in the sand -- work or school.  Boy were they surprised...  Now I am working for two major companies: Borders and Starbucks.  After working in public service and private sector work I totally forgot just how fun these kinds of jobs are.  I have to confess, I love them both. (Too bad they don't pay for spit, eh?)

School:  But even that shall pass, meaning the work situation.  School isn't too far off from that either -- isn't that spectacular?!  My mantra has moved from "8 more months..." to "3 more months... just 3!"  Graduation date looks to be late September, and I'm still a Magna Cum Lauda (4.0 gpa) which will be stunning for the military.  Speaking of the military, my AFOQT (Air Force Officer Qualifying Test) is scheduled for late August.  For once, everything is on course.  And it makes me smile.

Me, In General:  When school and work became the main focus, I had to give up some things very near and dear to me.  Primarily it was my social life.  Many of you have accused me of becoming a hermit -- seriously, it wasn't intentional this time.  I honestly need a 36 hour day to do everything I need to do.  Since the planetary rotation has not obliged my demand I'm kinda stuck until things finish.  Sorry.

Another was my exercise regimen -- that simply broke my heart.  Not only did it reduce my stress but it gave me me time to clear my head, I felt better, and it kept me in an athletic state which is necessary for the career I have chosen.  Over the last two years a portion of the weight has come back on, and that has seriously irritated the frak out of me.  But with my recent change of employment I actually get to work out now!  Yay!  So I'm (nearly) back to square one but I think I'm happiest sweating it out with a cardio heartrate of 150.  Man, I missed it so much.

Oh, and I have moved.  Sorta.  My new home is in Vacaville.  I moved into a better place with my own bathroom and a better rent rate (free!); my new roomie is awesome.  I'm currently split between the pad in San Ramon and Vacaville because my computer is still in San Ramon -- I own virtually NO furniture, a desk is a necessity, and driving has become my biggest time eater.  I'm currently attending the DVC summer session in Pleasant Hill so even though there is little traffic on my route it is just bloody far.  That's my biggest gripe about the whole thing... drive, drive, drive.  *laughs*  I'd rather be sleeping.

Last but not least, I'd like to do a Decatur meeting soon (meaning July): I miss you guys.  *pout*  I had originally sent a quick message calling for something on July 1st, but I really think this is too short for proper notice.  Is anyone inclined for something on July 15th or the 22nd?  I'm thinking something around 2pm (as usual) on either Saturday.  We can bbq it out in the small park in San Ramon, or we can be totally lazy and go to the Regal IMAX in Dublin and make them do the cooking while we chill in the AC.  I'm open to suggestions, so drop me some feedback.

As you can see, I'm still alive.  And I love you.  *smooch*

Yours truly,

Celeste

Ok, my life in brief:

1. I'm moving again, to a nearby apartment. I'm packing so the place is trashed. :)

2. I now work midnights at Santa Rita in the Lobby. Nice days off though (Friday and Saturday night) so I might actually come out and play once in a while.

3. 8 months of school left. 8 months... 8 months... 8 months...

4. HUGE post on the Starship Decatur Community. Want a more detailed version of what I've been doing? Go here >>> http://community.livejournal.com/starshipdecatur/

That's it. Much love from the redhead.

Yours truly,

Celeste

Fröhliche Weihnachten, Auguri, and Joyeuse Fetes!

I have finally returned from the other side of the planet, and it was a fantastic experience! I would rather bore you with details in person, but in case you are curious I do have pictures to share. You can find them here in my Scrapbook Gallery.

Just in case you were wondering, the BBQ this Saturday is still on! So that’s a big fat “hell yeah” for 2 PM at my apartment – same place as last time. The cupboards are a little bare so be sure to bring a side dish of some sort plus a little meat to Q. I will provide the sweet treats – bring snacks, salad, or something of the ilk of non-sweet. You can always call/email me to coordinate. (925-570-9103 / eyeofcanaan*at*gmail*dot*com)

There’s a bit of a theme to the party: It is the NYE shindig I wish I could have gone to but could not because my silly midnight shift butt was, well, working. So bring your noisemakers, party hats, etc. to help ring in the New Year one more time… Silly shirts are highly encouraged. J

Just in case there is any question: Your friends, significant others, whoever-you-like-and-is-attached-to-you-and-should-come-to-this-yeah! are always welcome. I do not always have emails to invite both halves of a couple or the other email addresses of groups of friends – these BBQ invitations are always open.

My brain is soup – the jetlag has not been kind. (Some of you have seen proof of this – I’m so sorry!) I will be back to post again in a few days. Much love!

Yours Truly,

Celeste

Yes, it's cute, and I was amused. I'm allowed... it's cold here in Germany!

Angel

You are one of the few out there whose wings are

truly ANGELIC. Selfless, powerful, and

divine, you are one blessed with a certain

cosmic grace. You are unequalled in

peacefulness, love, and beauty. As a Being of

Light your wings are massive and a soft white

or silver. Countless feathers grace them and

radiate the light within you for all the world

to see. You are a defender, protector, and

caretaker. Comforter of the weak and forgiver

of the wrong, chances are you are taken

advantage of once in awhile, maybe quite often.

But your innocence and wisdom sees the good in

everyone and so this mistreatment does not make

you colder. Merciful to the extreme, you will

try to help misguided souls find themselves and

peace. However not all Angelics allow

themselves to be gotten the better of - the

Seraphim for example will be driven to fighting

for the sake of Justice and protection of those

less powerful. Congratulations - and don't ever

change - the world needs more people like you.

*sigh*

I have been meaning to post about this for a long, long time.

There are pictures from the first Starship Decatur BBQ on October 23rd.  They are here in my LiveJournal Scrapbook:

Much love from the eternally sleepless.
