<div>I was talking to a friend today and the question came up "why is it that rather than just do nice things that make the world better, people tend to do nasty ill-thought things that only make trouble?"

My take, cause we are all human. Rather than think and act with intent, often we let our emotions get the better of us and react to outside stimulus rather than initiate actions that are in keeping with our desires and morals.

But the line between logical and calculating can be a very thin one, I think of 'calculating' as being when we come up with reasons to justify an action, where as being logical is being truthful both about what we desire to be the case and what the real outcome of our actions will be.

Believing this, I also am always aware that I can and often are - wrong. Disconcerting, usually is it a combination of correct partly, but having an assumption in there that is false and so messing up the whole thing.

Here is an old example, a friend lets me down. She does it in a way that is in keeping with let us say, her more obvious faults. In this case; agreeing to do something in exchange for something else, and then when her turn comes, not keeping her part of the bargain. Not such a good friend, but the problem comes when trying to understand the 'why' of it. Knowing someone else's perspective is difficult at best, but I do know that no one ever casts themselves in the role of 'bad guy' everyone thinks (at least at the time) that they are right.

So, where does one go from here? Do you try to seek out the person and give them the other cheek to strike? Or perhaps better to take the lesson and move on? The sad thing in this case is I had been warned not to trust this person, by many people in my community, and I had seen her behave badly, but wanted her to be the nice person I hoped she was, in this case, a person of advanced years that many people warned me off . . . well perhaps I ought to listened to the majority.

It was a lesson in letting people be who they are, and not doing them the disservice to want them otherwise no matter how much one may think they are lacking . . . if you expect someone to act as they do, well they don't disappoint do they?

In taking this lesson and acting accordingly, I have not gone to the same old events - that were by all reports rather limp, and have instead spent my time and money on new events and had a MUCH better time than I have had in years. In fact I have spent more time getting PAID and less PAYING for my fun!
So, spring cleaning, keep that which pleases, and throw out the old worn-out stuff!

<div>Every once in a while, I realize just how crazy I can be. Usually it happens in a moment of pure sanity, tonight sitting with friends in a great restaurant, everyone jolly, no one whining or being a bore. Then it hit me, how many times this past year I could have had just that sort of evening, but did not because of silliness. The year before, double that . . .

I think we loose track of what matters, who are ideal selves are, and if you aren't your ideal self, who are you? Easy, someone you don't want to be. So whatever it was that was so upsetting (probably because it was totally your own fault) let it go, let the past be over, a swell time is waiting around the corer if only you would let it.

										<div>Last weekend I had so much fun, Saturday, visiting Valles Caldera http://www.vallescaldera.gov/ to see the leaves then eating at my all-time favorite Santa Fe Restaurant Dinner for Two http://www.santaferestaurants.net/pages/d.html, then coming home and watching my Friends Stephanie and Christine dance at the Mediterranean cafe'.
Sunday we went to the Santa Fe Ski Area and the Aspens were a delight then a quick stop for a Plaza stroll and a Burrito Company "all-bean -all green" in Santa Fe http://newmexico.org/place/loc/food/page/DB-place/category/194/place/2183.html
Afterwards class with Krissy in the Studio then off to Madigan's house for her birthday and visiting with lots of old friends . . . sometimes I have to admit that life is very good indeed! Oh yeah and monday we made time to go to the $th of July Campground and see the maples turning too . . . </div>

Mermaids are sold, studio is bigger

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/celinebellydancer/blog/ccb6a2fa-c168-421f-9209-cf7eed0b0dc6">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/70d/6dc/70d6dcb4-714e-419a-8646-a830ad59bc44.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>I sold my mermaids with the help of the lovely Miss Flo, The Indigo bought them and I could not be happier, they really work with their present concept and now the poor beasties won't just have to be lonely and wait for the two times a week there is dancing in my studio. Now they will be used for what they were made for, entertainment of an audience.
I am so proud ;)
The studio looks kinda naked now, but there is more dance space and more mirrors up where they mermaid on the dance floor was.

										<div>Perhaps my upcomming 4# birthday is what was making me so cranky/tired/stupid
Anyway thanks to my friends: Krissy, Ahsa, Seasha and the wonderful band Sadaqah: Beth, Wade and Issa, I got to dance at the El Rancho de las Golondrinas festival of dance. I got to do my first Turkish performance (wayy fun) to 'Rompi Rompi' and the A great Oum Kalthoum song 'Laylet Hob". Totally energized! I LOVE to dance in the company of other dancers, we all did solos but with four of us there was lots of variation and no one had to work. LIVE MUSIC! I wish every gig (yes we even got money) was like this!!!</div>

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/celinebellydancer/blog/641e41e6-deb2-4ced-83e9-30bca25ff104">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/ec4/86c/ec486c87-c821-4d4c-a583-f1d7acdf1308.thumb" width="65" height="36" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>So, I am over 40, don't have to work because my husband makes enough, and we don't need much cause we are homebodies . . . I have achieved every goal I ever had – except some dumb things like “being Queen” that upon further reflection I don’t think is my bag.

I am happy, but a bit too complacent. Not that I can complain (but lookie here I AM) cause my life has love and friendship and dance and music and beauty in it . . . . and yet I am a little bored at times ;)

tried volunteering at an arts alliance place, they wanted me to “put links in an email they send out . . . . .” and on further inspection turns out they are this self-obsessed group that only promotes their own cronies and has not done anything really for five years . . .

surely someone someplace has a use for a master costumer, belly dancer, painter, ceramic artist and very opinionated but loving woman

sigh, being a child of the ‘80’s (read punk-rocker and gothic) I did not think to still be alive by now - - - -

Lloyd Dobler: I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that.

<div>I am a great beliver in giving back, but also in cutting people off if the costs outweigh the benifits.

My friend Maria is an example of 'good' she has me dance in her shows, my husband films/helps with tech, she is always gracious, the shows are always fun- good.

I have another friend who is an example of 'not good' I have filmed, written about, photographed, paid for and other wise been a contributor, when push came to shove, she did not honor her promise of putting me in the next show . . . AND wanted filming and to use equipment of mine. No thanks, I don't hold grudges but she will have to make it up to me before I so much as attend an event. I am hurt. -not good

Yes, I am cranky, but I have learned to always say NO if there is not something making me want to say yes ;)
