With memorial day weekend coming to a close along with it mi primero festival terminado... Yo tengo mucho amor al dentro mi corazon. Festival season begins with madness and moments travel by swiftly. Hard work and hard play with love for the human condition in the mix I was reminded of all the big and little matterful moments overlooked. I love people, but oftentimes I don't like the things they do to themselves. We are all blessed this is why blessing someone is not so much giving them anyth... read moreTue, May 27, 2008 - 12:12 AM permalink - 0 comments
I reached the market square after climbing through winding mountains leaving Antigua. The Market is busy busy busy even on a Friday, which is not one of the two main market days, Thursday and Sunday. Then the decent through these same mountain ranges winds down.... the first peek of Lake Atitlan. Many days here and you begin to love and hate San Pedro, but today... today was the day to kayak. I set out about 4.45pm 200 meters from my Hotel and began the steady move to the center of this lake.... read moreWed, April 2, 2008 - 7:13 PM permalink - 1 comment
Every place is different. Gone to 4 countries now... one only to travel through (Honduras), one for less than one week (Costa Rica) and one of beauty and splendor that if the prospects of Guatemala weren´t waiting for me I might stay longer and I will definately return (that is... Those spring-break or vacation-destination or I'm-here-with-Daddy people wandering about the beaches and 3 street town drinking and living and enjoying Costa Rica... which is where I hit them for the money when I started my new poi on fire. In Nicaragua the money I made last night could subsist me possibly for two days: food , lodging, agua... here its ab... read moreSat, March 15, 2008 - 10:50 AM permalink - 0 comments
Managua has more people per capita than the rest of Nicaragua, Earthquakes have consistantly shaken this city creating no center, only outskirtted markets. The old city centers and places the dwelling zones for the street children and poor street folk. Poverty is evident. The eyes of the people are aged past the easy times seen in richer western countries. The face, skin and experience is worn down, perhaps its the sun, or the daily labors, or familial factors.Tue, March 4, 2008 - 9:02 PM permalink - 1 comment
