Best weekend of 2008! ACT I - Friday My friend is doing a workshop at the Director's guild and he came in for a little color correction. We had a blast and made his project look extra nice. Then we hooked up with a mutual friend and had lunch, free lunch of course for my services! Well, this wasn't enough... we decided to continue the party at his place with sushi!!! we made it all by hand and drank and puffed and it was awesome! Their daughter Mira was being extra cute and growing every day!! I also found out that Tank Girl was getting drunk in Venice but i didn't actually see her. We wanted to stop in at an art exhibit but it was super crowned and we weren't feeling that level of compression. I'll go back and see it without the dressup crown soon. ACT II - Saturday Slept in as much as I could muster, then off to the beach with the fire friends. It was nice that the weather cooperated and I'm glad we went. I got some much needed fire time with no pressure or audiences. (or having to safety some irresponsible people) When we got to dockweiler there was a Sound truck playing live music, a huge bonfire (above is the before picture) waiting for us to play with, and we did. We met the owners of the wood and we all shared in the firey gloriousness. Cire had a girlfriend that night, but i'll let alli blog about that. The tables turned when foto girls wanted to take pictures of us, well me including as i'm usually the one behind the camera. I hope they come out good cuz i'd like just 1 rock'n picture of me, thats all. Oh and I drowned my water inflatable girlfriend (thanks kristen) but I only put her front side in the water so now she only has big knockers!!! (o)(o) this might sound weird but ya just gada see it to understand... ACT III - Sunday It continues. The alli and dave and cire clan stayed over to avoid the LA marathon and we slep in, and in, and in. only to be woken by Muppets!!! After that we finally went to the 50s cafe near my place, and it was nostalgia'rific. Then we saw 2 DOGS ON A ROOF TOP!!! wow what a day already! Then off to santa monica where we played until bored and they took off. Then got to see a friend on the strand on my way home, which was also tough because I had 2 groups of old peeps trying to get me out again, 1 back to dockweiler, the other for SM drinking. What to do... dockweiler and more file was the answer. got to see some of my glendale crew and the firegroove graduation celebration. I tried to make it it SM for a little drinking but it was too late. but that's kewl because i've done more awesomeness in the last 3 day that i ever thought possible. just goes to show what a good weekend can be all about. ACT IV - Monday I have weekends remorse now. It was all so awesome I just want to do it all over again. oh And this time get that girls didgets. doh! gada work on that. i'm such a puss. se lave... I liked the kids part too, got to play with 3 youngsters (and many oldster-youngsters) all weekend. When will the next awesome one be??? Oh and this will also be out best month in company history starting tomorrow!!!! We are getting to play with the latest new digital camera soon so i might try and put together the mother of all fire videos (with trails of course) this month, gada talk to my partner about it but i'll let people know :) P.S. it was so nice to just blog when my tribe was small. I have so many 'tribe friends' now I don't even know most of them personally so that's weird. i wish there was selective blogging or something. I don't much want to spill my cranium onto digital paper for everyone to see. that's just rude. so enjoy this all you tribe whores, take a whiff of the chaos mind juice, okay i gada stop this blog somehow and go back to............

its done 1 MASTER Tape down, and 1 more to go. I color corrected a feature called NORTH STARR that is playing at Sundance in less than a week, and the final tape is being made tonight. We're watching the 2nd tape go out now. This is an awesome job, very proud to be apart of it. ..and I have been working 8+ hr days every day since the 28th of LaSt YeAr! Hi everyone, I'm having some of my photos put into an exhibit later this month in Venice. It's apart of Kengi's Do Something Saturday group. His efforts are mostly put towards helping the homeless, but I helped take pictures with some of the local kids. Our photos will be on display July 28th in Venice from 6p-9. I hope you can make it! Wow go tribe! Moving to venice I needed to get to know my neighbors, and photography has seemed to be just the thing to do it. I love taking pictures for people, especially firedancers as ya'll know this past year. but the whole medium, both still and motion just; ug, mental stimulation-oh ya! Its nice having my paid production and my photography being very separate, i've never sold a photo ever and i don't really want to. I'm happy to see all the tribe pix people put up and the comments. It's kind of like giving little presents to peope for just being awesome and making me happy. Fire pictures are hot too! (I don't we could ever get tired of saying that.) Then, I shot the recent artwork for godfuel (www.godfuel.com) check his stuff out! he uses fire with paint to make some ~hot~ work. I don't know the whole process but that would spoil it for me, leave some mystery for the brain to ponder while processing the canvas. Then, I answered a tribe ad for photographers int he venice area willing to donate their time to go with some kids and take photos with them. The meeting was tonight and was apart of something called The Million Dollar Ghetto, and run by Kengi (http://people.tribe.net/chefkengi) and it was really kewl, I was a little nervous but I think it will be lots of fun. I love kids and photos, so ¡BAM! good idea for the aaron. We shoot next week, can't wait to post some of the work. I suggested that they get these little $14 funsaver digital cameras that savon is selling, alli got one for LiB and we were really impressed with it. Plus that would be great for them, and their way less breakable then my camera!!!!!!!! I'm really glad I went, I still gots a smile :) And I walked to all these places!!! Did you see the new Chevron ads? FUCK YOU CHEVRON!!!!

parking ticket...need I say anymore... no client check, not that big a deal, and not worried, but as anyone knows your not paid until the check clears. so, did my hours worth of work. got a mocha-margarita (patent pending) and blueberry muffin. chilled with a friend and we headed out for the getty. closed...but got free tickets to the getty villa. (I know its free, but it apparently has something to do with its popularity, but whatever. We had free FREE tickets. Score! Still living the good life! YES! drove to the beach down sunset only to remember when we got the the PCH we were at the villa, so we went. that was fun. took some...'not your every-one's-shot villa photos' that was fun. we talk a lot about an idea were working on and general way the fight the man by making as little effort as possible :) overall I think I salvaged the start of a crappy day.

as a creature of habit i started my day out by waking up. yawned and all that. I knew what was coming..packing packing and more packing. ouch, my back still hurts just thing about it. crammed everything we own, and everything we probably don't want anymore into the ever-so-convienient Us-HAUL. We dreaded the day we had to move an entire house, but we did it. almost. still have the kitchen stuff, most of which we will chuch. funny enought that decision effected my dinner later. drive drive drive once again the all to familiar route from NoHo to our new resting place by the sea. Unpack unpack and more unpack. chucked everything in the living room. now our more important decision of all, where to put the soon-to-be new projector. nothing says tv and movies like a wall sized head talking to you. speaking of tv this place has no cable, this is probably good as I should be slowly restoring my IQ bak to normal as a result. oh yes the kitchen stuff, well since there is none here i had to eat my pre-cooked meal, consisting of 1 chicken with my hands. very tribal. but it gets worse. for some reason i found 2 saki glasses, not enough to drink my brand new juice, oh well i'll make good some how. got a call from a nice neighbor from the north (CND) and talked about the industry. stirs up good memories. after that more good news about future clients, possibly even a car commercial. what a crazy life i have chosen to live. As with Alli (and Kristen's recent comment), lots of changes right now, never thought I'd be here a year ago. But I believe that this is the best path even though everything is a little unbalanced at the moment. I'm not dead, so I must be stronger.

day 1 of office demolition: pulled 2 layers of carpet, an huge old dresser, and a room full linoleum tiles. all before 10:30! I know, that's early! we threw out everyhting and left just the cement floor for that industrial, we know we don't a floor just this kewl lertover concrete floor, look. then painted 1 room. It was awesome, we had a lot of fun! Felt realy really proud today to be doing what i love and the have an awesome partner that rocks. I think this year is going to be a good work year. day 10000 of looking for bestest apt ever: drat my roommate is not so in a good position work wise. i wana move to venice! he's slowing me down, time to cut the cord me thinks. going to do my best at finding someone who is just looking for a roommate and hopefully can stand my birds. i've thought about this way too much, time for some action! U.S. vs. John Lennon, awesome!

yesteday went well! we (my biz partner Robert) and I shot some beautiful stuff. we are working on a great project called SKYE (www.skyefilm.com)Then in a few weeks were doing our own short as a company project (bookkeeping, insurance, everyone gets payd, etc.) Doing it right! glad to be making awesome new material for our website. i'm way too excitied about this stuff, but I can't help it, we have been having amaxing shoots and even better, amazing footage. ....must....wait...for..........final.....product...!! grrr still no word on the office or apts yet...soon come!

Project Update

Well things are going smoothly, Robert my DP friend gave me my x-mas present early, a pair of Timberland Rasta work boots. Their awesome! Hapy to be back on set, but I'm also looking forward to wrapping everything up before heading home for x-mas. Had to work at not getting too passionate about my shots when I don't have a good angle or if I don't agree witht he setup technically. It's a job and good union days. I do my best with what I got and I speak up when I need to. Other than that the crew is great! Meet some more good people. The biggest problem is that we work very fast and teh schedule is all but thrown out for us. We just do what were told. I miss everyone! Lets do fire this weekend! [Trivia: What actors do the gentelmen on either side of me look like?]

Dead tired

I wanted to wait and get a picture before I posted about my new job but I got none yet. I started this week shooting 15 days on an HD feature on the SS Lane Victory (http://www.lanevictory.org/.) Glad to be back in production doing what I love best, camera. The job is very fast paced and the director likes to give orders and not explanations for things. So we all end up getting lost as to what we're doing, but we're ready at a drop of a hat and that's kept us busy. Sooo sad not to be going to moon tribe. I got this whole weekend off by chance but mixed up the days and thought it was tonight. Worked on my reverse 5 beat weave instead. Tomorrow is prob guna be the LA Auto show for some car drooling.
