'We have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.'’ -- President Obama

I stood with Rob (and hundreds of others) in Sproul Plaza this morning at UC Berkeley with tears of joy and relief streaming down my cheeks as President Barack Hussein Obama, 44th President of the United States of America was sworn into office.

I then stood through his remarkably moving and incredibly articulate speech and was grateful once again for the choice this country made in this particular election.

This is a day I will never forget.

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own

This woman is an inspiration to have in my life as a friend. She radiates beauty, warmth, and charm, and renews the joy that is living (my choice!). I feel truly blessed to call Tanya a friend! Lots of hugs!

Not only is this woman incredibly sweet and likeable, she is also an insanely talented photographer. After doing our 500-picture photoshoot, she asked me to whittle it down to my 20 favorites- and I couldn't do it. She took too many outstanding photos for me to toss out that many. She is so easy to work with, and has a beautiful eye for lighting and framing.

Tanya is great. She's got an infectious enthusiasm for life. Sometimes I feel happy, and I look around and realize that Tanya is there. It must be her.

But she's also a dirty, dirty old woman. Except she's not old. But, man, she's dirty...

Your Laugh

Even when it is just you writing LOL or HA
HA. I can hear you laugh and it makes me smile.
Please don't misunderstand, your laugh seems to
light up the space around you (and me for that
matter)
much like the laughter in Monsters Inc. know
what I mean.
