is it just me?

<div>I ask this because of what I am about to write. I need to honestly know if it is just me and if I am being over hard in my thinking.

So, have this person in my life. They were supposed to be responsible for doing the dishes. I made corned beef and cabbage one evening. They didn't look at the kitchen for a week. Then, they go in the kitchen and announce, they are cleaning everything but the crockpot because it reeks.

Common sense, to me, says if you are responsible for doing the dishes, it wouldn't reek if you had done them the night it was cooked?

Tonight, we went and got frozen yogurt. I had something else to finish, she was in the kitchen. I handed it to her, said fridge.

Common sense, to me, says if it is a freezer item, put it in the freezer, if it is a soda, it goes in the fridge part? No, it was in the fridge, melted with the toppings that were on it.

Last week, our water heater busted. All the water was turned off from the water heater on.

Common sense, to me, says the dishwater uses hot water FROM the water heater, therefore, do not use the dishwasher! No, she decided it was time to do the dishes and my dishwasher ended up smoking because the heating element had no water to keep it at respectable levels.

Is it just me and should I be lightening up? Do I have elevated levels of what I expect from people?

I know I need to work on myself anf appreciate any input. Thanks! Huggles!</div>

Lashing Out...

<div>So, I admit that I'm not the best when it comes to keeping correspondence up. However, with Tribe being as funky as it has been lately, give me a break. My screen gets locked up trying to upload Tribe, only to find it isn't responding. So, a how are you doing message that I read from my juno account, where I cannot respond from, may not get a response, especially lately.

I am having to deal with a new roommate who says one thing, does another. We offered our home to help a friend get back on her feet. It has not been the easiest thing to deal with. The only thing I asked of her was to keep the kitchen clean, help take out the trash and go out with me(run errands, the occasional karaoke night, etc.). Well, until this week, dishes sat for days, up to a week before I finally did them. She refused to leave her computer. Did nothing around the house. And the hubby kept trying to tell me how unforgiving of people I am.

So, yeah, he and I have had some blow ups as a result. Finally, we ended up all sitting down after blowing up at each other.

Then, the house is falling apart. Thank goodness we are renting. I would be at my wits end by now if we actually owned this place.

4 weeks ago, the A/C broke. I called and SPOKE to the property manager. She informed me she would get someone out here. Might I mention that it has been hot out here in Vegas, without the a/c at night, the house was over 90 degrees inside. Took them 2 weeks to get someone out here. Turns out the installed last month had welding a part wrong and there was a leak.

2 weeks ago, the day after the a/c was fixed, the washing machine broke. Called the property manager, took a week for a response. Turns out the service company had no record of being contacted for us. Told them in the beginning that I could hear the hum of the machine, but it wasn't turning. (according to the service guy, an instant indication that the motor was probably shot.) But, they never passed that on. The first appointment passed, no call. I call the office, turns out the service guy was sick and had left work, but didn'[t bother to call me to klet me know he wasn't showing. They had to reschedule for two days later. When he came, he didn't have the part because they never told him about my hearing the hum. Took them another 4 days before they bothered to contact the Property manager to get approval. Another 2 days after that to come with it and fix it. That was Thursday.

Yesterday, the roomie yells from the bathroom about there being no hot water. I go out to the water heater...it's busted. Water has been flowing out the patio down ontp the neighbors patio. Thank goodness they are part time residents. But, wow.

I'm tired. I'm frustrated. I want a vacation. I can't afford one.

I entered a karaoke Entertainer of the Year contest. Grand Prize was $1000 and getting to perform at Planet Hollywoods Hotel and Casino in front of media, etc. Unfortunately, the contestants voted on each other. According to someone in the audience, I was robbed,. It was 20 points voice and 30 entertainment value. 19 of the performers stood in place on stage and sang, nice but not fun to watch. I jumped off stage and danced among the crowds. Whatever, didn't even make the final 8. So, yeah, not happy.

So, please forgive me if I haven't felt much like corresponding, but getting a "I don't know what I've done to deserve being ignored, but I think I deserve to know" message, sure did nothing to help my mood. Especially since I have been up all night burning cds for a party I am Dj/Kjing today being told yesterday they wanted certain music to be provided and I didn't have any so had to get some.

Thanks for letting me rant. Sorry, if I make anyone mad or otherwise unhappy. I can't wait for vacation (from home).</div>

    </a>
<div>So, I just got a call from my mother. I knew as soon as I heard her voice...

Today, about 1pm, my O-Ba-Chan passed away.

I know it was for the best. She was miserable. I just felt like I took a slug to the chest though. She didn't look that bad. But, I guess I was right when I felt that she was probably done and tired of it all.

I'll miss her. I wasn't close these last years of my life, but she was very dear to me. She took care of me when I was small. When my mother wanted her weekends to herself, I slept at my grandmother's.

I remember the panic I went thru during the riots in L.A. in the 90's. When they were talking about the looting and fires in the Crenshaw district and showed pictures of the Auto parts store next to the old Missile Bowl on Crenshaw and Exposition. I freaked out because her home was right down that tiny street from the bowling alley and I could see it in the footage.

Wow. I know I'm rambling. I better go now.</div>

<div>After work tonight, I will be heading to Los Angeles. This is an unplanned trip.

I got a call from my mother last night. She had received a call from her brother.

Apparently, my O-Ba-chan has turned for the worse. Backstory: She has diabetes and lives in a convalescent home. She and my grandfather were put in them together. My grandfather died a little over a year ago.

So, my mom calls and tells me that my grandmother is becoming like my grandpa. Turns out she meant my Pops. My Pops was my father's dad who had his leg amputated due to an infection not healed because of his diabetes. Apparently, the docs want to amputate my O-Ba-chan's leg now. And she has not been eating.

They think it may be her medicines. I think she wants to go. She is very, very old. I mean, she had to be in her 50-60 when I was little, so she must be well into her 80's or older. She lives in a convelescent home without her husband. She gets shots for her diabetes which wasn't diagnosed until about 5-7 years ago. She's done.

She's lived thru WWII, having met my grandfather in the interment camps where he snuck into her camp to see her. She lived thru raising 1 boy and 4 girls. She has 3 grand-daughters and 3 grand-sons. She has 1 great-grand-daughter and 3 great-grand-sons. She brought my love into my life, so I expect she gave the same to my cousins. She worked until retirement as a seamstress in the Cooper Building (old Downtown Los Angeles Garment District building). It is her time. I am making myself accept that fact.

I don't want her to leave this life, but I understand it is her time and she is most likely tired. I hope this doesn't become a fight with the family to "cut her leg off, it'll save her." How about, "let's not and let her go as she wants without the extra pain." I love her, but loving someone also means letting them go when they are ready. I love my O-Ba-chan.</div>

<div>What is with it right now? Can someone please tell me? Some friends of mine just had a death in their family and I feel for them. I was so sad for them. And then, I got the call this evening. My aunt passed away this weekend. Out of the blue!

A Brain aneurism. You can't predict those! For those who know about my background, I wasn't very close to the filipino side of my family. There was family fueding as far back as I remember. But, this one little family on that side always tried to be the UN. They always wanted peace between the two sides. This was the only aunt who didn't treat me like dirt because I wasn't full pinoy. So, my heart mourns the loss and I wonder how I'll be on the phone tomorrow when I call my cousins.

Love and hugs and don't forget to tell the ones you love that you love them. You never know when it will be the last time you get to say it to them.</div>

and our backyard is on fire. If there was ever a moment that people of
the Craft might come together to help our own, this is one of those
moments. What kind of community do you want to be a part of?

I would ask for people to light a candle, but that would be
inappropriate. Take a glass of water, bless it or consecrate it and place upon
it your well wishes. Return it to the Earth and as it nourishes the
Earth may the Goddess hear your prayers.

Witches heal and when we heal ourselves, we heal the Earth.
When we heal the Earth, we heal ourselves.

In Her Name.

<div>As I sit here reading posts by friends who live in the SD area, keeping an ear on the news casts, I sit here worrying.

I worry for my friends who are waiting for evacuation. I worry about my brother-in-law and his family of 5 who were evacuated last night. I sit here clicking on refresh yelling at google to update their satellite information.

I beg, plead and ask all to send good thoughts for low winds, moist nights and strength to all who are there now. </div>

my decision...

<div>So, it's been a little bit since I posted about my decision about GB. There are a couple of reasons.

First. I am currently waiting for the new insurance my boss has decided to pay for me to get. However, according to the paperwork, they do not pay for the Lapband, so if I were to get anything done, it would have to be the Gastric and only after a 12 month intensive program, which I am thoroughly prepared to go thru.

Second. I just weighed in this morning and am down to 212. That is down about 10-13 pounds since my trip to Los Angeles at the end of March. When I left for L.A., I was at 224/225! If I keep it up, I may not need gastric! Woot

So, I will keep you all updated on things...</div>

<div>So, I have been eating the best I have in I don't know how long. My sugars are better than they have been in a while. I have an appointment with an insurance company tomorrow to try to get insurance through my company. (I have been put in charge of finding the right plan because of my experience in benefits and because my needs are the greatest in the company)

So, this afternoon about 3, my stomache was racked with cramping and nausea. I had to cancel my students for today. I laid down for a nap and woke about 7ish. I have been in and out of bed as sitting up for longer than 30-40 minutes makes me a bit queasy, albeit much less pain and nausea than before.

However, I just went to the bathroom to take a look at my armpit.. It appears I have two swollen glands there. Did I mention I have been having issues with my nipple due to the recent (1 month ago) rejection of my nipple piercing? I can't afford to go to the ER again! But, geez, I am reading that swollen glands under the armpit can be a result of abcesses or other such infections within the breasts. Not what I need right now!

Please let this company be able to offer what I need tomorrow. I need insurance asap. I want the tummy surgery as well. I am sure many of my problems are stemming from my diabetes and related concerns which would, hopefully, be lessened by the loss of weight that is possible!

*screaming*

Oh, and I guess it doesn't help much that I can't write very well at the moment. My trigger finger (my right thumb) is acting up and it is hard to hold a pencil and I do my best writing when I actually sit and write! *more screaming*

Ok, end rant.</div>

Living around the world has given Celine Chapus a unique and wonderful variety of artistic influences. Anime and Manga art is a strong inspiration, but she has certainly taken that style and made her own. A beautiful Eurasian, her signature piece is a stylized self portrait, as she has said, with better clothes. Enchanted Deva's is a delighted to exhibit "Purple Top Hat" in our gallery as the only west coast show for this Florida based artist.

Enchanted Deva's continues to bring a variety of artists to our artspace in an effort to support budding artistic talent. We hope to have a nautical or just a naughty approach to the artwork that we present. Please join us the first Saturday of every month for a reception for our guest artist.

Lapband vs Gastric Bypass

<div>Since I am totally hoping for feedback in this decision I am making for myself, I wanted to share a video clip I found that describes the lapband.

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/lap_band_video_clip.swf

This is the other type of WLS (weight loss surgery) that is being considered.

http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/Gastric-bypass

Personally, I am leaning towards the lapband. Of course, I will not make a final decision until I get to see a doctor about my decisions.

I am concerned about the loss of nutrients that appears to be a common side effect of the gastric bypass. I am finding the lapbanf appealing because I really want it to be a good portion of myself working harder to control myself rather than it being my stomache controlling me. I admit that reading about "dumping" syndrome scares the hell out of me!

I know many of you have offered to talk with me. I haven't taken you up on it because I don't really know what questions to ask yet and I guess because I am still scared. I, also, do not want to get my hopes up high and speak with people about it personally until I get insurance and can really look into this, because there is no way, without insurance working with me, that I will be able to afford this major change in my life, financially speaking.

Mentally, I want this. I have wanted to lose this weight for so long. Ok, maybe not as long as I want to think.

I am beginning to think that I sabotaged myself many times because I felt "safe: being fat. If I was fat, then that is why people don't want to be near me. That it wasn't because they didn't like "who" I was, just "what" I was. I'm done feeling that way.

I was ripped to shreds emotionally growing up. Now is the time to put that little girl together so she can truly grow and expand in who she is. I don't want to be the victim anymore. I want to live life, not just pretend to do so.

Thanks for listening to me rant so much lately!

<div>Interesting Game - I have noticed more narcissism floating around from various peeps. Maybe we are getting out of touch with each other, so use these types of games to see if people see us as we think they do. Or maybe we just like to know people are listening.

In a perfect world, other peoples opinions would not really matter. But it is not a perfect word, and this looks like a fun game, so have at it. What is your word for me?

Please leave a one-word comment that you think best describes me -- it can only be one word long. Then copy and paste this in your journal so that I may leave a word about you. (I found this on Celestia's blog. I'm only following instructions... ) </div>

<div>I am sitting here watching a rerun of ER. In it, Dr. Marc Green passes away. I know this, I saw it years ago when it aired.

Why am I sitting here crying my eyes out, just like I did years ago?

Why do I cry at the drop of a hat? I see pain on tv, I know it isn't real, I know it is acting, but it still makes me cry. I feel like such a wuss sometimes because I cry so easily at pain, even fake pain. Grrrrrrr....I get so frustrated with myself sometimes.</div>
