* Human sexuality should be limited only by the imagination. * Normativity is most fervently appreciated by the repressed. * Violence is only a resort for those too simple to create a more effective solution ... unless it's between consenting adults. *

Forty years is too long between social revolutions.

Can we truly express love through language?
Can words bridge the gap between two people?
Love Person tackles these questions with a complex and beautiful story that challenges perceptions of how language shapes our world. A love story layered with mistaken identities and mis-communications becomes a love mystery that reaches beyond conventional ideas of attraction and sexual orientation. Told in three languages, English, Sanskrit and American Sign Language, Love Person is accessible to both hearing and Deaf audiences through interpretation and projections that are incorporated directly into the play.
""Love Person" is a fascinating brew of emotion, wit and intellect a smart and insightful work."

i awoke last night from a terrifying vision:
in my dream, i saw Him sitting on the bed beside me, the cold point of his icicle pressed into my neck.
He brought His broad, rosy-cheeked face close to mine. His pearly beard, reeking of stale cookies and cheap whiskey, pressed into my skin as he whispered roughly into my ear.
"Tell them. The ones in Boston," He rasped; vomitous peppermint stench of His breath leeching into my nostrils,"Tell them."
i convulsed involuntarily as i felt myself gag. He pressed His shiv harder into me and shoved His smothering red flannel body on top of me. the breath fled my flattened lungs as His corpulent gelatinous belly spilled over my skin: warm and sickeningly familiar, like Nana's Christmas pudding.
"Tell them!" He rasped again in an urgent threatening whisper.
"December 20. THAT'S the day. You know what to do. Now, tell them!"
i awoke screaming. my sweat reeked of fear. i knew what to do. He came to me last night. He told me. and now i tell you:

When I grow down, I want to be just like this cat, yo...yet distinct enough so that I can get nekkid with him and not have it be kinda weird, like this one time, in high school...
My man Marty is the irreverent voice that puts the sense back in nonsense and wakes the sheep up from their slumber. He is the herald and the song itself, the sage and the fool, the initiate and the one who has been here all along.
Marty is the wide blue eyes that dance with mischief and revelry, with compassion and sincerity, with innocence and ancient memory, with the sacred, sublime profane.
Marty is the huge grin that beams like the crescent moon through the dark and deviant crowd, the smile that says, of course this will be okay, yes, with you. Couple that with the belly laugh, the smooth-talking tongue, and the jewels that come out of his mouth...
And the composite is the man whom I have been blessed to call dear friend for...(ahem)...I'll just say over fifteen years. Marty is a gift to all of us who know him.
Bless you, my friend. Bless you.

MARTYYYYYY! MAAAAARRTYY! If we're gonna captain this ship down the railroad to hell we're gonna need some ice for the mixers...and alot more acid goddammit. You take the vaccuum attachments, I'll get ropes wrapped around bedpost so neither one of 'em can move too much. We will need to let one of 'em unstuff their mouth enough to tell us when it's okay to go harder though...Do we have an bottle rockets?

Its been a while since ive written a testimonial for anyone, But this man inspires me to do it. Okay, so brilliantly funny. Enviably socially suave. Gentlemanly to a fault. I think one of my favorite memories of him will be our moment of the forbidden traspass in someone's private dome. The girl comes in and wonders what the heck 2 perfect strangers are doing swinging in her hammock in the dome. I start to go into 'instant guilt' mode. Marty goes into supercharm mode and before she knows it, she's discussing general aesthetics, relationships, and music with him, thankful to have this perfect stranger show up in her life at just the right time for all the right things. Yeah. Its pretty much like that with everyone he meets tho.
