Butoh Sound/Dance
Christina Braun's collaborations with composers have been presented regularly since 2002, including the West Wave Dance Festival "World Forms" 2007, the Thailand International Butoh Festival "New Generations" 2006. As a dancer, Christina has been a member of Mary Sano and her Duncan Dancers since 1997, the Tamano's Harupin-ha since 1998, and Katsura Kan's Saltimbanques since 2004.
SF Butoh LAB is Christina's performance project, whose mission is to promote peace through art exchange. In 2008, Christina co-created a new arts organization, www.BUTOHSanFrancisco.net whose purpose is to foster the growth of the Bay Area Butoh artist and audience communities.
Lucio Menegon is a guitarist, composer improviser and sonic artist. His work centers around the creative use of melody and dynamics, combining a judicious use of effects, live looping and found sound to sufficiently mangle his rock, blues, pop, punk and experimental background.
Some of Lucio's collaborators include Jon Brumit, Myles Boisen, Suki O'Kane, Amy DeNio, Val Esway, Mark Growden, Laurie Amat, Mark De gli Antoni, Carla Kihlstedt, Gunnar Madsen, Christina Braun, the Scratch Film Junkies, Thad Povey and Alphonso Alvarez. His work has appeared at the SF International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival and the SF Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and Music on Film Festival in Prague, CZ.
