Why is it that I am more inclined to give money to a panhandling kitty than to a panhandling human? I do occasionally give money to homeless people on the street, but I know that, more often than not, they will use that money for alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes and I just don't want to support that. I would rather give my money to an organization directly working with homeless that provides them with resources and skills to rise out of homelessness. However, I somehow find this little kitty that is quietly sitting on a street corner with no humans in sight asking for money absolutely adorable and irresistible. Perhaps I know that the kitty isn't going to use the money for drugs or perhaps it's that I somehow think the kitty's human companion is asking for money for the sake of helping to take care of the it. In any case, I found it adorable enough that I had to share it.
