LoveFlow report- Equinox Global Sunrise Meditation: Haleakala, Maui

March 19th 2006.
Landing in Maui via airplane the day before the Equinox, Johanna and I grabbed a rental car and drove straight to the top of the 10,000 foot Haleakala volcano on this Hawaiian island. Spending the night at the top under a canopy of an amazingly clear sky filled with millions of stars, we waited for the dawn huddled in our vehicle through the night to stay warm. As the sky began to lighten, we emerged from our vehicle and walked through the chilly pre-dawn air to the rim of the Haleakala crater with our guitar and didgeridoo to welcome the sun and the new day. At the rim of the crater, we stood together looking out at the great basin below us and the sea of clouds out in the distance, slowly growing more and more light as the sun slowly rose on the horizon. WIth the first rays of sunshine illuminating us, we stood in silent meditation, focusing our minds visualizing a world where we the people live together, unified in unconditional love and harmonious peaceful balance with each other, finding oneness with the whole universe- the rainbow sphere of light circling the planet.
After some time we finally began to play music as the sun began to warm us, as we brought in the day and the beginning of our Maui adventure. Charged with the sunrise equinox energy we explored the summit of the mountain, taking in the amazing view of the whole island and the surrounding islands on the horizon. Truly, this was a glorious morning.
