pennsic this yr....because of the weather seemed to be a lot of mucking about. It would be 100 degrees by day torrential downpours by night. not to say the magik didn't happen it came on suddenly or at unexpected moments. The first week was wonderful weather....with plenty of good low key parties like at Vlad's.
For the past couple of year my household has hosted a PYRO PARTY!...which again turned out great. We of course have a natural stage behind our house the hill, which is like a wall that holds the lake. Then we build 2 additional stages into the hill and covered them w/ sand. Giving us two very crowd visible levels of performance space to separate the crowd from the fire show. This also gave Amorina and i a great space to perform our candle dance! We had fire poi performance, fire breathing, and in the middle of the party Brieve suddenly lit up the top hill with sparkler poi which was beautiful and had much the effect of fireworks partially because it was above our heads.(included pic)
But my favorite night was the last sat. at wulf den. I walked effortlessly into a booming drum circle ... all my friends were already there. There was plenty of dancing and fire play along with the accompanying sound of the saz that accented the drums so well. It was a great night.
The sad part is it felt like war week was just getting started instead of the last night that is was winding down.
needless to say i would go back in a heart beat.
