I was watching this 60 minutes piece on elephants and how they have long memories, which isn't great if you're a baby elephant and your mother is killed by poachers.

When we see animal compassion -- elephants mourning the dead or gorilla's picking up hurt children -- we think of them as having human characteristics instead of thinking that compassion is in fact an animal characteristic. But ahhh. Vienna. I had a really wonderful time. I dont know where to start., really. Part was being there, treated like a princess. I was literally gutted to leave. I cried half the way home. British Airways lost an entire carton of tissues. But part of it was simply Vienna. What a gorgeous place. The cafes. The buildings. The castles. I am tired. And have to go back to work. Since burning man i've been to: Raliegh Chicago Ft. Lauderdale Back to Chicago Philly suburbs San Francisco Philly Proper And next week going to: DC Dallas. Then a few days off then to: London Madrid Vienna (YAY!) Then a few days back then to: Lonon Philly Atlanta Houston Just plumb tired. But can't tell you how excited I am to see my boy.
Just a friendly reminder that Wed night pre burn at 8pm we are walking from the temple side of the MAN to the TEMPLE...

Not the worst date of my life...that honor goes to the one who locked me in his apartment and...well... but this one. what a treat. I actually felt terrible for the guy Half way through he's talking about suicide and begins crying over his dead wife. Tears on a first date, and they didnt' even involve whips and chains. 37 years old. Our families friends... We born months apart. Our mothers pregnant together. Our older brothers fought over who would be cops, who would be robbers. My brother loved guns. His was a pacifist. My brother grew up to be a rabbi. His a marine. Ben was diagnosed with ALS in 2002. He survived longer than most. He was making huge strides with science. and for the first time, the nice man who brings me a salad from room service... wanted to give me a hug and kiss at the door. and he was cute too. and no, I didn't. Bala Cynwyd for the next few days...7am - 10pm. i'm tired just thinking of it. 
Had a really lovely time yesterday at the nekkid beach with a mix of NY/NJ burners and the folks from pleasure salon.

YAY! I admit that I had a little difficulty that first day. I kept thinking...this time last October I was still fine...this time last October I started to feel sick...blah blah blah.
