circadia's rhythms
While you were at Burning Man...
Fri, September 7, 2007 - 1:33 PM#2 is Cosmo Rael Renner St.Clair. He landed on earth with a bang: 9 days early and 1 hour 40 minutes of labor. He was born at Breitenbush Hot Springs on August 21 at 4:11 am (Leo sun, Sag moon, Leo rising), too fast for the midwife to come. She arrived 2 hours later. Papa and big brother Oriah arrived shortly after that. He was caught by a dear friend in his cabin by the river. I would have to say that Cosmo delivered himself; I didn't even have to push. I cut the cord myself with a pair of mustache scissors. we buried his placenta next to the cabin and planted some cosmos over it. We stayed for about ten more days, during which people brought us lots of fresh mountain huckleberries and other yummy things, love, assistance, herbs, blessings. Thank you Breitenbush community!
We are all well and back in Portland now. Oriah is a sweet big brother. He wants to kiss and hold the baby, and offers him food when he's hungry, though he doesn't have any teeth. Cosmo sleeps a lot. I have to wake HIM at night to nurse.
And, no, we don't plan on having anymore children. But then, we didn't plan the first two.
