<div>I had a baby!
#2 is Cosmo Rael Renner St.Clair. He landed on earth with a bang: 9 days early and 1 hour 40 minutes of labor. He was born at Breitenbush Hot Springs on August 21 at 4:11 am (Leo sun, Sag moon, Leo rising), too fast for the midwife to come. She arrived 2 hours later. Papa and big brother Oriah arrived shortly after that. He was caught by a dear friend in his cabin by the river. I would have to say that Cosmo delivered himself; I didn't even have to push. I cut the cord myself with a pair of mustache scissors. we buried his placenta next to the cabin and planted some cosmos over it. We stayed for about ten more days, during which people brought us lots of fresh mountain huckleberries and other yummy things, love, assistance, herbs, blessings. Thank you Breitenbush community!
We are all well and back in Portland now. Oriah is a sweet big brother. He wants to kiss and hold the baby, and offers him food when he's hungry, though he doesn't have any teeth. Cosmo sleeps a lot. I have to wake HIM at night to nurse.
And, no, we don't plan on having anymore children. But then, we didn't plan the first two.

Mama Cave

<div>My new mama cave is a warm dark womb-place that smells earthy and breathes sour milk breath that drives me wild. There is laughter here, but no ecstasy. There is no air in here. I have no visions other than those of my child's future. We are the only ones here, me and he, in our cave of isolation. I love him so much. But I need to reach out and connect with the rest of the universe . Let me OUT! I want to be birthed as I have given birth. I want to dance freely, and wander without reason. I want visions. My feet itch. My thumbs itch. My butt itches. I want to go. I want to take some Medicine and see the web that connects me to You. I want to touch Your heart. I want to go.</div>
