<div>I am going to Germany for two weeks starting November 1st. I will also be stopping through Switzerland, Brussels, Austin, and Chicago. I will be spending the majority of my time in Berlin. I have decided to make this year my world traveler year. So far this year I have seen Kenya, Arcata, Canada, London, Port Townsend, Seattle. Life is good! I am on the look out for other travel opportunities too. I have my passport in hand so it is anyone's guess where I will end up next. </div>

A prayer

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/claireharmony/blog/6ce9d21d-9a94-4b4d-be3a-6785ad8a1e80"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/661/ad9/661ad917-0284-47bc-8402-41f5291bf690.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>You are safe now in the arms of the universe. It is in your nature to love and therefore you are loved. Remember to pray and ask for help and you will never be let down. Remember that there is a whole universe out there to assist you. We must ask to get the assistance that we want. If we ask the universe to provide us with positive growing opportunities daily it will happen. Don’t look for the source that your blessings will flow from just ask the universe and plan for it. Sometimes these blessings will come from an unexpected source. We do not need to be in judgment of others, but we also do not need to put up with negativity. It is our job to keep ourselves safe and remove ourselves from depleting, draining, or otherwise negative situations and people. The wisdom is in the trees. Time passes and it is clear that when something is yours it will continue to be offered. You just have to accept the gifts that are offered and not judge based on past situations. Move forward at all cost. You can not afford to let your life pass you by. Stay in love and gratitude and you can not go wrong. Remember that there are times to be generous and times to hold back and utilize the blessings personally. Sometimes the gifts are meant for us. We can not allow others to use us as life source energy. Everyone has a direct connection with source and all that they need can and will be provided to them through source. Maintain your connection to source as a shining example.

Source does everything so I need not do anything at this time.</div>

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/claireharmony/blog/a59e5faf-5670-41ad-9300-5c7abfc10a83"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/3f5/ad0/3f5ad0ca-0ece-4c95-8d44-52f19719bff8.thumb" width="65" height="42" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>What defines a “good” person? Would everyone agree? When are we living for someone else and their definition of good? When are we playing a part to conform to normalcy? When are we numb to the truth and blind to lies? When do the rose colored glasses become standard attire in this so called beautiful moment? Is being present really seeing and feeling your emotions and perceptions of this place and time? Is being present making up a comforting story to make myself and others feel “good”? How much of life is real and how much of it is the stories we tell ourselves? If we tell ourselves stories and believe them does that not make them “real”. For how much of life is created by our actions thoughts and words? Thinking positively and wearing those glasses could in fact create a virtual universe. How much of this game of life is real and how much is just a game? How different is this dream of life from the dreams we call dreams? Sometimes my “dreams” seem more real and reality seems like a dream. Have I been a good or bad girl? I guess the answer to that question lies in the eyes of the beholder or story teller. We can create a case for whatever outcome we wish to see. Does it make you feel better to think of me one way or another? Take your pick I am glad to be of service.</div>

    </a>
<div>A friend of mine sent this to me and it made sence to me today. I thought I would share it.

WE ARE ALL DIFERENT BUT WE HAVE SOME THINGS IN COMMON.

"What we call evil is the instability inherent in all
mankind which drives man outside and beyond himself
toward an unfathomable something, exactly as though
Nature had bequeathed to our souls an ineradicable
portion of instability from her store of ancient
chaos."
--Stefan Zweig

"Chaos and order indeed. I thought everyone had heard
of fractals by now. There is no order. There is no
chaos. There are only patterns of various levels of
complexity."
--From the Books of Magic graphic novel

For your consideration, a compilation of words of
wisdom, applicable now and at any given future point.
May they speak to you, inspire you... to pass them on
so to speak to others too, and inspire all in turn.

"The important thing is this: To be able at any moment
to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."
--Charles DuBois

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every
experience in which you really stop to look fear in
the face. You must do the thing which you think you
cannot do."
--Eleanor Roosevelt

"Moral cowardice that keeps us from speaking our minds
is as dangerous to this country as irresponsible talk.
The right way is not always the popular and easy way.
Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test
of moral character."
--Margaret Chase Smith

"The most heroic word in all languages is revolution."
--Eugene Debs

"Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of
them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing
ever happened."
--Winston Churchhill

"...We aren't soft, we aren't crying, and we aren't
wasting our time on clever talk. There are things that
can be talked about and things that can't, that just
have to be done. We don't talk, we don't cry, we don't
endlessly think on the one hand and on the other hand,
we just do!"
--said Nechaev

"Excellent! You just do. But where do you get your
instructions? Is it the voice of the people you obey,
or just your own voice, a little disguised so that you
need not recognize it?"
--Dostoevsky inquired

"Commitment is the enemy of resistance, for it is the
serious promise to press on, to get up, no matter how
many times you are knocked down."
--David McNally

"The relationship between commitment and doubt is by
no means an antagonistic one. Commitment is healthiest
when it is not without doubt but in spite of doubt."
--Rollo May

"Wisdom never kicks at the iron walls it can't bring
down."
--Olive Schreiner

Don't use "circumstances" as a reason not to act:
"Circumstances - what are circumstances? I make
circumstances."
--Napoleon Bonaparte

"You have to take it as it happens, but you should try
to make it happen the way you want to take it."
--German proverb

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and
hang on."
--Franklin Delano Roosevelt

"Think wrongly if you please, but in all cases think
for yourself."
--Doris Lessing

"Dare to be naive."
--R. Buckminster Fuller

"No trumpets sound when the important decisions of our
life are made. Destiny is made known silently."
--Agnes de Mille

"Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible
and suddenly you are doing the impossible."
--Saint Francis of Assisi

One step at a time: "Nothing is particularly hard if
you divide it into small steps."
--Henry Ford

"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series
of small things brought together."
--Vincent van Gogh

"No one from the beginning of time has had security."
--Eleanor Roosevelt

"The man who makes no mistakes does not usually make
anything."
--Bishop W. C. Magee

"Success is going from failure to failure without loss
of enthusiasm."
--Winston Churchill

"A clay pot sitting in the sun will always be a clay
pot. It has to go through the white heat of the
furnace to become porcelain."
--Mildred W. Struven

Don't shy away from disagreement and conflict - use
them for positive ends: "He that wrestles with us
strengthens our nerves and sharpens our skill. Our
antagonist is our helper."
--Edmund Burke

"Change means movement, movement means friction,
friction means heat, and heat means controversy."
--Saul Alinsky

"We find comfort among those who agree with us -
growth among those who don't."
--Frank A. Clark

"It is a rough road that leads to the heights of
greatness."
--Seneca

"If one asks for success and prepares for failure, he
will get the situation he has prepared for."
--Florence Shinn

"Life is the sum of all your choices."
--Albert Camus

"Only in growth, reform, and change, paradoxically
enough, is true security to be found."
--Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Always think of your career as a work in progress:
"There is no future in any job. The future lies in the
man who holds the job."
--George Crane

Don't get mired in details when it's wisdom you're
after: "The key to wisdom is knowing all the right
questions."
--John A. Simone Jr.

"The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to
overlook."
--William James

defeat without losing heart."

"We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow
sometimes in one dimension, and not in another;
unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are
mature in one realm, childish in another. The past,

--Anais Nin

"There is an ancient Indian (Native American) saying
"that something lives only as long as the last person
who remembers it." Trust memory over history. Memory
like fire, is radiant and immutable. Those who would
douse the flame of memory, in order to put out the
dangerous fire of truth, beware of these men for they
are dangerous to themselves, and unwise. Their false
history is written in the blood of those who might
remember and of those who seek the truth."

"The thing we fear we bring to pass."
--Elbert Hubbard

COURAGE/FEAR

An elder Cherokee Native American was teaching his
grandchildren about life. He said to them, "A fight is
going on inside me, it is a terrible fight and it is
between two wolves.

One wolf is evil -- he is fear, anger, envy, sorrow,
regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt,
resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride,
competition, superiority, and ego.

The other is good -- he is joy, peace, love, hope,
sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence,
friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion,
and faith.

This same fight is going on inside you, and inside
every other person, too."

They thought about it for a minute and then one child
asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

<div>So I had my birthday in Africa and have recently returned. I've been camping since my return. I am around although I may be difficult to locate. I hope that everyone is well and I look forward to catching up when we can. At some point I will probably load some pictures of Kenya and the mural that I painted at the Kaaga School for Deaf Children.

The greatest gift that you could ever give to another is your own happiness, for when you are in a state of joy, happiness, or appreciation, you are fully connected to the Stream of pure, positive Source Energy that is truly who you are. And when you are in that state of connection, anything or anyone that you are holding as your object of attention benefits from your attention.

No one else needs you to be or do things for them in order for them to be fulfilled-for all of them have the same access to the Stream of Well-Being that you do. Often, others (who do not understand that they have access to the Stream) suffer in their inability to hold themselves in a place of feeling good, and ask you to behave in a way that they believe will make them feel better. But not only do they hold you in a place of discomfort as they try to make you responsible for their joy, they hold themselves in a place of bondage as well. For they cannot control the way any other behaves, and if that control is necessary for their happiness, than they truly are in trouble.

    </a>
<div>My green parakeet Merlin died yesterday. He was to be the companion to Gandolph who was found wounded and starving. Gandolph is well now but Merlin is dead.

This is the third death in just over a month. My life long friend Jane died on Thanksgiving, my Aunt Sharon died on Christmas, and Merlin died on Boxing day.

Combine this with the death of tribe and my car getting broken into and I can only imagine that things will be getting better soon.

Now you are here
Who knows how long
There is nothing to fear
It just feels so wrong.

Your departure was unexpected
At times even neglected
Each moment must be respected
For our lives were innerconnected

ACTION MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/claireharmony/blog/ecc95e77-04dd-4c1c-b0d1-9cd03c721efb"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/213/621/2136212e-eb0d-49c3-be18-e1e2f77284e1.thumb" width="65" height="63" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>That which can be said about others must be true of myself or I would not have the ability to recognize it. Bearing this in mind I feel like others are taking advantage of my good will. I am paying for more in my life than I am responsible for. When I ask myself why this is happening the only answer is that I let this happen. There are people out there that will take until there is nothing left to give. It is clear to me from this perspective that it is important to have reciprocal relationships with others. Without a delicate balance of giving and receiving learning our life lessons becomes nearly impossible.

There is a joy in giving that is unlike any I have ever known. I love to notice what others need and give it to them without being asked. I love to see them smile and know that I had some small part in it. At times I will not let others know that the gift was from me. When I think about how much I enjoy giving to others I realize that I am selfish. I am not giving to others purely to give but because I want the reward of feeling like I did a good deed. At times others have even tried to repay me for the &amp;#8220;gifts&#8221; I have given and I would not allow them to. I wanted to give something and I did not want to be rewarded for it. In my mind the &amp;#8220;good&#8221; deed should stand for itself. I do things out of the &amp;#8220;goodness&#8221; of my heart. After further investigation I realize that I do get rewarded for my actions with the feeling that I did something good in the world.

I can not blind myself any longer with the idea that I am some sort of savior in the world. My feelings of self-importance and co-dependence that I create are far reaching. I am enabling others to be weak and not progress in life. For this I am truly paying the price. I wanted to build my loved ones up not tear them down. I gave to others because I thought this would allow them to walk beside me. I thought that they would realize how much I love them and this would inspire them to progress even more than they thought possible. In fact I have enabled them to be so weak I am carrying them on my back. I have created the very thing that I was trying to prevent. I created a stagnant situation where it is difficult for me to take a step forward because I have so many others on my back. The only way to move forward is for me to allow others to walk, crawl, or stagnate under their own power. With all of these muscles I have built doing so much heavy lifting my own weight feels so light and free. I feel that I could run so fast that most of my loved ones would be left so far behind that even by phone we could not connect because we speak different languages now.

It seems that I have misplaced myself in this world. Others come to me as if I am the source they must draw from when every person on the planet has direct unlimited access to anything they need. Maybe in my vanity I felt important to feel needed and did not recognize the long-term effects such behavior would create. We as people are inclined towards laziness in one area of life or another. If someone is anticipating your needs and handing you things you have not even thought to want it does not create an environment that encourages others to grow and think for themselves.

If we take and take or give and give, what do we get in return? We give others the chance to recognize the imbalance within. It recently became clear to me what has been happening on both sides of the spectrum. It is clear to me areas of my life that I have been out of balance. As much as I tried never to imposition others and always carry my own weight I can see instances when I have been a great burden. I can see so many instances when I followed the gravy train and did not paid my fair share. It is also clear that I have invaded the privacy of others and never quite realized my effect on the world. There are times I felt entitled to certain things and was not in gratitude for gifts I have been given. Just because someone allows us to be a drain on society does not mean we are obligated to accept this tempting offer. The self-entitled attitude I see in others reflects a quality I have been guilty of. The lesson that is gained from this is to come clean with my own selfish attitude and make amends with those I have taken advantage of.

The other thing I must address is my own people pleasing martyr complex thinking I can &amp;#8220;save&#8221; the world. One of the most painful things for me is to hurt the feelings of others or see them in pain. In an effort to spare the feelings and of others I have allowed them to encroach upon my own personal boundaries of space, time, privacy and ethics. The time is now for me to be honest.

I feel like I must earn the love of others because it is not given unconditionally. I have tried to be unconditional in my love to find that by doing this I have set the standards so low that I am not able to inspire others to greatness. This also means that I do not give others the opportunity to feel good about accomplishing meaningful goals leading to a lessoned self-esteem and a self-perpetuating cycle of defeat. My own self-esteem has suffered greatly knowing I go to such lengths to gain the &amp;#8220;love&#8221; of others. I live for a kind word, smile, or small indication that I have made a difference on this planet. I try to convince myself that I don&amp;rsquo;t need to be recognized and it is in giving that I receive. In theory this sounds plausible but I must take into account whether or not what I am giving is even wanted or needed.

I feel betrayed by the fact that others allow me to load my back, heart, and mind with burdens that they are capable of handling with seemingly no care for how much it slows me down. I am offended by the knowledge that others do not seem to care if I progress in life or not. The type of progress I am interested in achieving is to bring out the best in everyone around me while we collectively learn and grow and inspire each other to greatness. My own personal gains mean nothing if I am not able to make difference in the world. Knowing that I have weak tolerance for pain and suffering others levy emotional warfare to get what they want from me. I am angry that I have allowed myself to become a puppet to the whims of those around me. I am but a pawn in a losing battle that never should have even began.

I love to give to my loved ones until my gifts become expected. When people start to stand in line or even push and shove to get their next handout I have a problem. Also when people take without asking or fall short of the agreement we have made. The most terrible part of this scenario is when I realize that my gifts are not helpful and I have to say no. The response from others is as if I have taken something from them. Not even the acknowledgement of what they have received so far or my intention behind it. The reason I give to others is to promote growth and show them how much they mean to me. I figured if I take care of something that they were having difficulty with in life this would open up the possibility for them to progress at a greater speed. What I have found is that if I make life too comfortable for those around me instead being inspired by my efforts they are more inclined to take it easy and wait for the next hand out. Nothing offends me more than laziness. I do not understand how people can be content to digress in life.

The best way to achieve my goal in life of creating an environment of knowledge and growth is to run full speed ahead. If others want to spend time with me they better be able to keep up I can not hold myself back any longer. It isn&amp;rsquo;t until we lose something that we finally realize what we had. Sometimes we have to see others reflected in our own eyes to see ourselves. I appreciate the opportunity to finally learn this lesson that has been a long way in the making.

Get off your ass and DO something, ANYTHING!

<div>There are times that we are misunderstood.
Many things we do in life are for the &amp;#8220;greater good&amp;#8221;.

We sacrifice more than we can afford to give.
Much of this is life source energy that we need to live.

There are so many things that we do that go unseen.
Sometimes in life there are just no in-betweens.

Joy is a bountiful resource that quenches the thirst.
At times it is important that we fill our well first.

Thankful I am for the intention behind all you say and do.
The very greatest gift you can give is the gift of you.

Love,

A day to remember Don...

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/claireharmony/blog/9187e2e7-96d5-49e1-80f9-9e0e5b4686e0"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/2e0/8c6/2e08c61e-57ae-4ed2-acf1-a61184db2c86.thumb" width="52" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>It has been exactly 4 years ago today that I lost my step father Don to cancer. He died the day before Thanksgiving. He was a father to me since I was 3 years old. Every year around this time I think of him and appreciate who he was to me. Every year I realize he meant so much more than I can even express.

I think back and remember how much I misunderstood him. I think back and realize that he showed his love for me in actions and not words. Don was the kind of person that did what he needed to do even if he didn't want to. He never missed a day of work or called in sick until he was in the hospital. It is sad to know that he loved his family so much that he slaved away his life to provide for his family at job that he did not enjoy. Don always thought of others before himself. Sometimes I misunderstood him because he did not express in words how he felt about me. I even thought at times that he did not care for me. I look back and realize that he never recieved praise and so did not know how to give it. He showed his love in so many actions.

Don was the happiest when he was playing his music. He was a brilliant jazz drummer. It brought him so much joy to create music. There came a time when he was so beat down by the world that he stopped playing his music. When the music he died. The music was what kept him going. The music was what gave him life.

Don compensated for his terrible childhood by turning to subtance abuse to numb the residual pain. The year I was born he joined A.A. and stayed sober the rest of his life. When I look back to the end of his life he was fighting to beat the cancer until they gave him morphine. The knowledge that he violated his sobriety made him lose his will to live.

Don was a dedicated person and he made rules for his life and stuck to them. He had a routine. There were so many other things that Don would have loved to do. I wish at times that he would have enjoyied his life more and do things he really wanted to do. There are few people on the earth that are as deserving of a moment of relaxation as Don was. The fact is that it never happened because Don was doing what he wanted to and that was love his family in the only way he could by giving dedicated service. I can see everything so clearly now.

I know that I didn't appreciate him enough. I did not know how to show my love to Don in the way that he understood. I hope that he can feel it now. I don't know where I would be if I did not have him in my life. I know now that actions speak louder than words. It is in my actions that I can show love to someone like Don.

I was thinking about how I could honor Don in my life and pay tribute. The best thing I can think of is to do what needs to be done. To take action in my life and be present and do all of this with a good attitude. Also to look beyond myself so that I can recognize and appreciate people in my life while they are still here.

Donald Pepin was the most unselfish, dedicated person I have ever met in my whole life. I love him more than I can express. I have so much respect and love for him.

I suggest looking beyond yourself and to others to see what is really going on in our lives. When we get a clear look we may find out things are quite different than they appear on the suface. That criticism that we recieve may be a cry for help. Actions speak louder than words instead of promising and not coming through why don't we actually DO SOMETHING for a change. Let's quit the self entitled attitude and CARRY YOUR OWN LOAD. Look around someone who loves you may be getting crushed by the burden they bear for our selfish ass. No one owes us ANYTHING in life. Be thankful for any gifts of time, money, companionship. If someone in your life is under appreciated it is time to be thankful for them and let them know it. If everyone could think beyond themselves for an hour a day it would be surprising what could be accomplished.

    </a>
<div>I like to study the meaning behind everything. I was recently looking into numerology and found that I am the 33/6. These numbers have great meaning as they tell what we are here to do. Reading more about my numbers gave me some interesting insight. This being the day of the full moon it is a great day to refocus our energies towards what we are here to do.

You can check what your numbers are at www.voltar.org/ncalc/

Once you have your numbers you can get more insight about them at the astrology numerology tribe at astrotribe.tribe.net.

THIRTY THREE ...ok 6 can give you some insights too (2) :P

The 33

The meaning of the number 33 is ''Master of Healing Energies Through Love." This number is on the journey of discovering its powerful healing energy through an open heart and unconditional love. Through love and example, the 33/6 awakens others to its depth and understanding of how to make spiritual truths work in the material world.

Key Words:

Altruistic and selfless &amp;#8212;those are just two of the key words that begin to describe the 33/6. We've provided colors and gemstones to help you understand this deeply felt master number, too.

The Master Number 33

Key Words
Intuitive
Deep sky blue
Lapis lazuli
Visionary
Sensitive
Selfless service
Ministering
Avatar
Altruistic
Caring
Nurturing of the spirit
Mystical
Sympathetic
Tenderhearted
Emotional
Protective
Forgiving
Loving
Mercy
Crusader for justice
Cosmic parent
Teacher of teachers

Mastery through Giving

For a long time, the 33/6 was thought to be the highest master number there was, signifying the highest human consciousness possible. Because of this, the number 33 has been elevated to nearly divine status, and called the number of the avatar. However, with the expansion of human consciousness, we now allow for other master numbers beyond the 33.

The 33/6 is a champion of the underdog, and exudes compassion, love, and empathy. This master number willingly gives of itself, lending encouragement and heartfelt understanding to all who need help. It's thought that the 33/6 has Christ-like qualities of sacrificing itself for the sake of others. However, because of their tenderheartedness and sensitivity, 33/6s can easily be swept into the despair of others, feeling the deep pain of the world.

The 33/6s are highly emotional and can find themselves in emotional distress from their heartfelt identification with those in need. Like all master numbers, the 33/6 will need to master balance and detachment (but with a caring attitude). These are not easy lessons for this number. Because it's made up of two 3s, this number experiences a double dose of emotional expression.

Plus, with the number 6 (3 + 3) as its root number, it carries the weight of self-imposed responsibility for the welfare of others.

The Prime Directive of the 33/6

The prime directive of the 33/6 is to benefit, serve, and administer to as many people as possible. Because of the strong presence of the need to right injustice and human rights, those with this number are often found caring for the elderly or the handicapped, or in some from of service which benefits humanity. This number is exemplified by Elizabeth K ?bler-Ross, whose life work is devoted to teaching and helping others understand the process of death and dying.

This number would like to heal all with its love.

Attributes of the 33/6

This master number has a special gift of working with humility and is unaffected by the power it has. If you're a 33/6, many will perceive the light that glows from you and will gladly follow you: Your faith and love show them the way. You see beyond the situation to the good in all people, regardless of color, race, or creed. In fact, you're Love personified.

Weaknesses of the 33/6
The greatest challenge for the 33/6 is to focus his or her emotions on higher goals in tune with spiritual laws, rather than trying to solve each and every problem of humanity. This master number is here to learn detachment, to express love and kindness, and to willingly respond to the needs of others. If the 33/6 remembers the universal principle, "everything happens for a reason, and there is a divine plan for all of life," then the 33/6 will lessen his or her stress and restore balance. In this way, the 33/6 will find direction for his or her own spiritual growth.

The 33/6s may have trouble distinguishing where their service is truly needed due to their confusion over hearing someone's story and deciphering fact from fiction. They will learn that they can't be all things to all people. Remember, 33/6s have come to learn mastery for themselves through loving service, and they must always strive for balance, emotionally and spiritually.

Clear expression of the 33/6's own needs and a willingness to let others be responsible for their own "stuff" is part of what the 33/6 is here to learn. Sacrifice is valuable only as long as there is still a "self" left to do the sacrificing. The 33/6 may be the "Cosmic Parent," and the Master of Healing Energy, but, like all parents and healers, the 33/6 must hold some back for him- or herself.

The lesson of healing with love is to love yourself first and to heal yourself first, so that you may truly be of service to mankind.

    </a>
<div>Everyone has times in their life when they wake up and look around to discover that they are not living the life that they want or deserve, and wonder how they got there. The truth is that each person creates his or her own life with every single thought, word, action, and reaction. We have complete control over our reality. As our thoughts change the situation transforms. &amp;#8220;Man can only receive what he sees himself receiving&#8221; (Scovel-Shinn, &amp;#8220;The Game of Life&amp;#8221;15). I understand that you believe that there are events that are just out of your control. Why would you create something that is not positive in your life, and why would something you don&amp;rsquo;t want happen? The answer to that question is simple. It is a short path to where you don&amp;rsquo;t want to go, just take one small step in the wrong direction every day. Negative thinking is the main obstacle to happiness in one&amp;rsquo;s life and creates a &amp;#8220;self-fulfilling prophecy&amp;#8221;(Adler, Proctor, &amp; Rosenfeld, &amp;#8220;Interplay&amp;#8221;391). &amp;#8220;By your words ye are justified and by your words you are condemned.&amp;#8221;(Scovel-Shinn, &amp;#8220;The Game of Life&#8221; 6) &amp;#8220;Death and Life are in the power of the tongue&#8221; (Prov. 18:21). &amp;#8220;If one asks for success and prepares for failure, he will get the situation he has prepared for&#8221; (Scovel-Shinn, &amp;#8220;The Game of Life&#8221; 13). It is extremely important to guard not only thoughts about one&amp;rsquo;s self, but also others. &amp;#8220;What man says of others will be said of him, and what he wishes for another, he is wishing for himself&amp;#8221;(Scovel-Shinn, &amp;#8220;The Game of Life&amp;#8221;21). In order to lead &amp;#8220;the pleasant life,&#8221; every word thought and deed must be directed positively, with laser focus toward your goals (Denise, White,&amp; Peterfreund, &amp;#8220;Great Traditions in Ethics&amp;#8221;35).

I love lamp! A solution to homelessness...

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/claireharmony/blog/31415a57-5ba4-49b0-b3f3-e066de886cee"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/ef5/292/ef52923a-d890-476d-a8b9-fe314d34cf97.thumb" width="65" height="64" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>As a resident of downtown Los Angeles I have discovered that I can not give to every person that asks for money. Although I would truly like to help out these individuals in need. With hundreds of people per day asking me for money daily, I can not afford to give to everyone. Also there is no telling what is being done with the money that is given. Are we supporting a drug habit or are we just providing fish instead of teaching to fish. We are actually further perpetuating the homelessness by sending the money out in such a way that we are not actually helping these individuals. There is such a widespread epidemic especially in downtown Los Angeles and I want to create a positive change. I stumbled upon what seems to be a great solution to the problem of homelessness. That solution is the Lamp Community.

Founded in 1985, Lamp Community is a non-profit organization providing housing, health recovery and job training to homeless men and women with serious mental illness.

Southern California is the homeless capital of the United States. On any given day, 1000,000 individuals are living on our streets.

There are many causes for homelessness but those on the streets longest usually have serious mental illness. Through the 1970s, the government closed most mental institutions without providing the resources needed to assist those displaced. Today more than a third of the individuals living on our streets are mentally ill.

I was alerted to the Lamp Community last week when I went to the Washington Mutual at 400 S Hope St. in downtown Los Angeles I noticed there was an art exhibit inside the bank. It turns out the art was created by many individuals that were formerly homeless. They were assisted by the Lamp Community to find homes, get off drugs, get the proper medicine and healthcare, and find jobs.

Angel Babie was the one who was in charge of selling the art at the bank. He is Schizophrenic and found himself on the streets when he gained a drug addiction in order to stop the voices. Lamp Community took him in. They assisted him in breaking his addiction to drugs and getting him proper medical care. He has the proper medicine to help him function with Schizophrenia. He has his own apartment and even teaches watercolor the other formerly homeless individuals.

The Lamp Community is a worthy cause and ultimately the dollars that I donate will be used to help thousands of people. This program proves that holistic, integrated services can reduce homelessness and hospitalization, save lives, and promote self-sufficiency. In a community of understanding and support, members learn to feel good about themselves. Advocates and counselors work one-on one with each individual to inspire set goals, and help each achieve his or her best. The full menu of health, living and work programs offered at Lamp Community help each member improve his or her personal esteem and quality of life.

If you want to help the homeless please donate to the Lamp Community. The dollars will go to help thousands of people.

Goethe's Fairy Tale of The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/claireharmony/blog/ba3c9416-da4e-4138-95f0-12636fb4a6d9"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/ba5/32d/ba532d48-8fa8-4289-a59c-5e0ae3ce6851.thumb" width="65" height="46" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Steiner spoke repeatedly about the importance of Goethe's Fairy Tale, not only in relation to the spiritual striving of our time in a general sense, but in his first Mystery Drama, The Portal of Initiation, he drew upon many of the basic themes of the Fairy Tale. Steiner also indicated that the way the pictures in Goethe's Fairy Tale "unfold themselves" shows that they possess the power "to transform the human soul" which opens itself to them. He also once characterized Goethe's Fairy Tale as the "archetypal seed" which offers the possibility of a new order of social life amongst humanity as a whole, and described it as the foundation upon which he based his teaching concerning the modern Science of Spirit, Anthroposophy.

The German writer, statesman and scientist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1758 - 1817) was concerned all his life with this human dilemma. In his story of two kingdoms on either side of a great River, Goethe gives his solution. The climax of his story is the building of a bridge between the two sides through deep processes of alchemy, where eventually all may cross and where:

&amp;lsquo;Love is the greatest of all the powers&amp;rsquo;

Steiner introduced children to Goethe's Fairy Tale of The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily specifically because of it's important message. It is a magical tale which tells of a group of people whose world has turned upside down and who must bring about spiritual and social renewal.

Quick Peek at the Story:

Goethe's fairy tale is set in a mythical realm where a great River flows between two lands. The story begins at midnight on the western side of the River where two Will-o-the-wisps have just arrived at the hut of the Ferryman, demanding that he take them across. On the completion of their journey they refuse to pay him his fare &#8211; the Fruits of the Earth (three cabbages, three artichokes and three onions) - giving him instead golden coins which they shake out of themselves. Knowing that the River will not accept this, the Ferryman refuses to take their gold, burying it all in a chasm on the western shore.

In this chasm lies the dwelling of the Green Snake who, when she has eaten the Wisps' gold, finds that it makes her glow with light, as well as feel a great inner satisfaction and a longing for more. She leaves her chasm in search of gold and finds the Will-o'-wisps who gladly shake out more of it for her. In exchange she tells them how they can satisfy a wish they have: to meet with one who is called the Lily and who lives on the other side of the shore - the side they have just come over from. The Snake tells them how they can make the journey back - either at midday or midnight (on a Bridge formed by her body) or in the evening (on the Shadow of a Giant as it falls across the water.)

When they leave and she is alone again, the Green Snake goes into a great underground cavern where she has been aware for a while that there are strange figures. Now with the light of the gold inside her, she can see everything and realizes she is in a kind of underground Temple where there are statues of Four Kings - of gold, silver, bronze and a mixture of all three metals. The first three of these are seated and the fourth is standing. She begins a dialogue with the Gold King: "What is brighter than gold?" "Light!" "What is more refreshing than light?" "Speech". .....

    </a>
<div>Last night I dreamed that a golden snake was draped over my left shoulder. I attempted to pull the snake off of me but to no avail. I did not know if the snakes head was near the front or back of me. There seemed to be no beginning or end to this snake. I was not afraid but I felt a temperature decline or chill run up my spine.

The symbolic implications of these inner manifestations and interpersonal relations require further investigation without provocation.
