Real Life. He's Dead and She's gone.
Well, fuck.Kitty has been deported back to Poland. Somehow we got mixed messages from the government about the state of affairs and were boondoggled by immigration in London. She's staying with a wonderful friend of ours, Brian, and I'm already missing her.
The plan now is to fly back out there with essentials (like comfortable bras) and figure out what to do next. Maybe the UK consulate will be helpful, maybe she'll just have to go back to California.
Before we went off to Poland we had to put our cat to sleep. Poor Greebo, he was a tough old 10 and in the last stages of feline lukemia, refusing food and quickly loosing strength. He went peacefully in the company of loved ones.
This is a major blow to things being excellent, as they once were. I've been near tears all day.
I'm tired and I'm sad. This is not the worst it could be, by any means and I hope it doesn't get any worse.
Please, if anyone knows a good way to ship a lot of stuff from the UK to Cali, let me know. Any immigration lawyers out there?
Personal rant: How is it that our place of birth plays such a big role in how we're "allowed" to travel? I call BS. This is a strange kind if slavery. At this moment I welcome the supposed coming New World Order and the dissolving of borders.
To help offset the unexpected cost of the well bloated cost of air travel and the coming madness I am passing the hat here. Please, if you can give anything, it will be much apreciated.

I had somehow forgotten how much I enjoy listening to "Classical" music, namely Romantic and Baroque period and a big ol' dash of the Impressionists. For the month of December our local library ( that doesn't have a drop box so you have to watch your books and make sure the librarian checks them in) is having a free for all on CDs. Usually they're 50p. 10 at a time, yes. The first batches were electronica and now it's all classical. Bach and piano music, some Paganini too. It's surprising (not really) that the cases and CDs themselves are in much better condition than the poptronica stuff.
Even on my dinky laptop speakers (oh how I miss my aural space filling studio monitors) Johan Sebastian Bach's Mass in B Minor is quite nice. Quite nice indeed.
Art. Of. The. Motherfucking. Fugue. Put that in your ear and smoke it.
And I remember that the universe is music, geometry is all.

Other than that I'm a little grumpy. Not sure why. I feel a little like I've forgotten that I was looking for something I've lost, but I know I'm not missing anything. Well, I do miss weed... a bit. It could be homesickness too. Shrug. Half way through and it'll only get colder 'till February. Yes, I definitely miss California. I'll keep this in mind before I jump the pond for places abroad.
We've got to get Kitty on a tourist visa and I'm a bit nervous about that. Her staying here is up to a government official whom I don't know, and if they choose to not let her back in on a tourist visa there is no way to petition for anything. I still proclaim that "nationality is slavery".
10 points for the first person who can tell me what Hunter S. Thompson's last words were...

You're an extreme sci-fi geek! You're probably wearing your very own homemade TRON costume right now!
(Actually I'm wearing some uber comfortable silk underwears I got from Harbin. They're purple tiedied hippy wonderfulness.)

You know Facebook? The new new thing? "MySpace is so 2006"...
I won't do it.
There I've said it. Get off my fucking lawn you damn kids.
And "Twitter"? No, hell no, no chance in hell or high water. Mathmatically speaking there would be a greater chance of everyone in China winning the lottery every day for fifty years. Besides that being a very small amount of money to split between a few billion people, and surprisingly twice as much as I care about it, it is also within one point four orders of magnitude the ammount of space-like universes (12-d cellular automa gamma nested rule sets) necessary for me to sign up to have strangers text me every time they go shopping or watch a youtube video of Darth Vader playing Harmonica (which by the way is an excellent bit of funny).

Ear candleing. Alternative therapy, useless, or something inbetween?Maybe you've gotten good results. All I'd ask is to do a test with a control. Take an ear candle, set it up to burn over a glass like you would an ear, and light it. Check these sites for the results other people have gotten:

I've been knitting. This bastard's about a meter at this point. It'll double again before I send it to my mom for Christmas. Damn, won't she be surprised? BTW that's a regular sized DVD for scale. And no, no custom work. This fucking shit takes forever.
It's messy and organic and imperfect and honest and I'm trying my best.
Real Life
It's not all laughter and light. Sometimes it's dark when we giggle. Seriously though, it's a test, this thing has been a great big challenge to make a-new halfway across the world. Kitty's having the hardest time with missing friends and loved ones, the scene, the community, the vibe that was familiar and well worn. Please, if you have a few moments do descend upon the Kittyness with much love and abandon in the emails. kitty.stryker at gmail dot com. Or through Tribe too if you want. Or, fuck, if you're lazy just comment here, she'll read it.Photos: (L2R, T2B) :
Kitty Behind "Lobster Phone" by: Dali. Totally not the original. Oh, did I mention that we saw the Dali Exhibit at the Tate Modern in London? Yea. That was cool.
Clear posing next to "Virgin Autosodomized by her own chastity"... <no comment>
Clear in front of an Indian print at some Indian festival near Picidilly Square we hung out near because the Tube workers were striking for no reason. Seriously, no reason. Their demands were met. They were just being festering ass clowns.
Kitty behind bars at the Kitty place where they help kitties find new homes. We wanna foster a cat for the time we're here. It may be difficult as we don't have a garden it can play around in so Kitty thinks maybe a little feline with FIDS or something.
Oh yeah, I've learned to knit and pearl. Making my mother a huge scarf. I like knitting. It's a bit like folding space-time. I bet navigable wormholes will resemble a knitted tea cozy with a cute shiny fuzzy pom-pom. Yeah.
Real Life
Oh wow, so many friends came out of the woodwork to help take stuff away. All expensive items are being babysat and will hopefully get used. We've got a few hours left in California and it's just the detritus and cleaning up to go.There's random kitchen stuff and if you're in the neighborhood you're welcome to drop by and take some stuff. Please do, it'll just go into the trash anyways :(
Something of note, my phone number, the 714 area code will be gone soon. I'll be getting a real phone, no this American back water stuff, and an obscenely long British phone number.
Came back from LA this morning and sadly gramma is sliding further into dementia and is confirmed crazy. And not in a good way. She's paranoid and insulting. Hrmm. Nothing to be done about that, I guess except stay healthy on my end.
Why the boobs? Just to get your attention. Worked, didn't it?
Wish us luck!
