Wild Geese,
Mary Oliver,
Dream Work

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

My Blog

i am grateful to have found the RadFaeries.
i have read and heard it said that once you go to faerieland, if you come back, you are forever changed.
i would have to concede that as very true, as far as my experiences lead me to believe.
i feel a great sense of space within me now that i have not experienced in such a long time.
i am very grateful for the gifts the faeries have bestowed upon me and that i have found a place for me both within and without.
i am excited to see that my journ... read more

in my head i see it as though i am standing by the edge of a cliff. people are laughing and carrying on dancing and i notice that they are hovering and in fact some are past the edge. twirling without support from the earth.
i get angry and excited at the notion of liberation and as i notice that my body is bound by multiple chains. i notice that there is actually enough wiggle room to wiggle free.
and then my life, as i know it, hits me. and i am intouch with how much of myself i have bu... read more

I need to be cleaning my house and my room before work which starts in an hour and a half.

instead i am online.
i have escaped the biting cold iron maw of my previous workmasters and now reside happily at chaco canyon a place of sunshine and raw beauty.

bye,

Quetzal.

has a lot in it right now.
it has so many stories to say today.
to yell and scream and call and sing.

i am freer today than i was yesterday and yesterday i was freer than i was the day before.
i think slowly i may be understanding more about the metaphysical wisdom that dwells in the heart of the art of silence.
its so hard.
WHEW!
its easier to let it out.
but then i feel like my words are often wasted on the ears around me.
typing/writing isnt the same as saying.
different effect... read more

my aunt is a public school teacher in oaxaca. please support them.

***

Over 70,000 public schoolteachers, in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, have been on strike for 12 days, and are maintaining a massive encampment in the streets of Oaxaca City. They have achieved a scale of mobilization and popular support that they have not seen in over a decade. On Friday, June 2nd, thousands of students, parents, and members of civil society joined them in a march that made front-page news around the c... read more
