Having fun is contagious.
On the other hand, you should take a lesson from DJ Neshamah and just not give a fuck. Just because nobody is dancing to a few songs doesn't mean you're playing a bunch of crap. If you think you're not doing well, it's may be that you are psyching yourself out. Most people do this on some level when they get nervous. It's like setting yourself up for failure so that when you actually fail, you at least feel that it was out of your hands, (funny shit, no?) You should watch the ESPN SportsCenter when they interviewed Terry Bradshaw about this sort of thing. --G.D. |

Don't drink if you don't want to. lol Now isn't the time to start. This coming from a confirmed party-girl promotions-ho. But i can tell you this much: The best way to get people to dance, is very simple - get out there and dance yourself!! If people see *you* out there having a good time, the other folks will get up off their duffs and have fun too.
You have a smoothly running club now. Yes, you are gong back & forth on the one-room/two-room concept. Yes, you have some technical issues that will pop up. Heck, stuff happened at DeathGuild last night, yet somehow they managed to squeeze by ;-) You have talented dj's, a dance-hungry audience, a reputable bar staff, a great music selection, and a hot girlfriend lol. You aren't doing this to make millions, you told me yourself you are doing this to have fun and have other people have fun. And they will do just that, if you lead the way. When you are not spinning, don't spend all your time shmoozing (you know how that goes! ), get out there and dance ;-) It was fun watching you cut loose the other night at Fascination. You were relaxed, looking like you were really enjoying yourself and the music, even if it was New Wave Mash-ups (heh!). Try to picture your club like that, and maintain/project that energy as you spin me right 'round baby, like record, baby, right round, round, round, round... |
