Phoenix Rising was an absolute blast. I managed to get my bunny costume sewn in time, miraculously... and I arrived nice and early to get the lay of the land at Shampoo. The PEX crew did a beautiful job of transforming the place as best they could into a friendlier, softer atmosphere. The music was great throughout the night... I particularly dug hooping to the D&B in the smaller room... spent time with all kinds of beautiful people... danced hard... hooped sloppily... handled drama and awkward moments as best I could... and overall ended up having a really wonderful time. Left around 4:30am, I guess? Slept very little, and now I'm at work until midnight and completely zonked. Thank goodness the census is low at the hospital right now... I needed an easy night!

A few special thanks to those who helped make my night a special one... Dan, for being absolutely ridiculous, as usual... Lucifer and Angel for your warm and loving presence, and for bringing such lovely friends along with you... Jeremiah, for the hoop-muscle-massage!!... all my fellow hoopers, especially Sammy and Jen who lent me glowy hoops to play with just when I needed it the most... Maro, for the cupcakes that ended up being wolfed down by the bouncers... Jason, for being a sweet and sexy presence intermittently throughout the evening... Hunnybear, for the gifts and the hug that set the mood for the rest of the night :)

Now I'm going to try to sneak a nap in the lab lounge and hope that no one notices :)
