Gaian Mind Summer Festival

   Mon, June 23, 2008 - 12:12 PM
What a trip.

The best parts:

Swimming naked in the cold river.

Waking up and snuggling :)

Dancing and hooping, etc in the chill-out area Thursday night.

Learning new contact staff moves.

Watching that guy hang upside down by his feet from the geodesic (spelling?) dome and spin poi.

The thunderstorm and extremely close lightening-strike Saturday night that made me jump, squeak, and grab Jeremiah's hand like the little wimp I am.

The worst parts:

Being disgustingly sick with some sort of respiratory infection. It's only gotten worse since I've come home. Z-pak begins today.

The LAME drum circle that consisted primarily of ego-driven drummers who could not maintain a rhythm for more than a few seconds and a saxophone player who would not listen to (or play WITH) the drums and didn't know when to STOP FUCKING PLAYING BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR YOUR LOUSY OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD "MUSIC".

Cleaning up for an hour and a half after the litterbug ASSHOLES who spent the weekdn throwing their fucking cigarette butts, beer cans, water bottles, dead glowsticks, plastic drug baggies all over the place, worst of all within the Stone Circle.

Stupid drugged up fucking ravers being irresponsible, obtrusive, and disrespectful.

The weekend would have been truly awesome if I hadn't been sick, and if the other 997 people besides Jeremiah, Ewan and I hadn't been there. I really enjoyed my time with the fellas, and with the land (when it was quiet and clean enough for me to feel something besides irritation and anger).
I won't be going back for that festival.
Thank goodness Drum and Splash is in only two weeks. I'm looking forward to introducing Jeremiah to a REAL Four Quarters drum circle... and the difference between the crowds of people who attend these two events is immense.

I just sneezed 11 times in a row.
Ugh.
