well, with all the crazy things going on in my life right now ranging from moving back to cedar rapids, getting things ready to go back to the university of Iowa, organizing Mindoutpsyde's upcoming 3 day right after we just got done hosting a killer onenighter last sunday, and traveling to over 10 states to play/party within the next few months, i have been pretty busy :) My excitement is growing as rapidly as the success of reaching my goals as of late, especially with GEMINI coming up. I leave in 10 days! here it is, the big SHIBANG of the summer :) :) :) :)::: GEMINI Greetings and Namaste, The time has come once again for the 10th anniversary of the legenday and much anticipated northern California underground outdoor music festival lovingly known as GEMINI. This amazing gathering is dedicated to unifying our bay area, USA, and international global music family. Artists from all over the world and many nations have committed to creating an intentional community located in our own private town called Belden, 3.5hrs NE of San Francisco (full directions from all areas below) . That's right, we are taking over a whole resort, complete with restraunt, bathrooms, showers and dance floor porta-potties. This is a FREE gathering, (i.e. No Entrance or parking/camping Fee) which means it is what we all make it. Things have been going about as smoothly as it can get recently for Mindoutpsyde. First of all, our last party, Trans-Dimensional Shift 2, was absolutely perfect, with the exceptions of a few minor mishaps that every party has the chance of having. We spent more time than ever on Friday setting everything up, and didnt even get home till about 6:30 in the morning Saturday! then we were back up and ready for action saturday afternoon as we got things finalized at the venue. The party was amazing. All sets were flawless, the vibe was outstanding, the atmoshpere intoxicating, and energy unlimited. The main room didnt have heat and did get a bit cold at times, but that is why you kept dancing and eventually would be taking layers off, even if for only while you were gettin down. After the party, we got scattered but soon rounded back up at my house for a small afterhours. People were so exhausted that everyone got a few hours of sleep before we rondevoued (sp) and us survivors went out to eat and reflected on the major happenings of the past weekend, and of the many weekends to come, including Nick and I's trip to cali for Gemini! Then everyone left except Mubali, and him and I toked till Wednesday, sharing eachother's wisdom and watching cartoons. That guy is the shit, as well as everyone we had booked for that evening, and I cant wait till he gets back from his tour in Europe to grace our parties once again :) Its so crazy that he's a midwestern local now, as well as Paradigm! Things are really taking mold here.. As for the future, our next event is VOODOO THERAPY, on March 3rd (check Mindoutpsyde's tribe and RSVP). This event is sure to ignite as all the others and is even entering new territory as the installment of a secondary stage of edm early in the night (breaks, minimal, techno, atmospheric dnb) , and then chill later in the night for those with weary bones, as everyone gathers for the psy headliners, Lauryn and Random, and then get the morning stompin :) I look forward to seeing a fusion of all kinds of new people, and im sure everyone is going to enjoy themselves to the furthest extent. If for some reason no one has checked out our events yet, or have not been to one in a while, please do as this is sure to blow you away and may be one of the last parties we have at Emerald City, and get involved with new venues. Also make sure you mark your calendars for March 31st as we'll be bring in the pagan new year right! For Summer/fall we are collabing with others to bring a few major events. We'll be playing at the Gemini in California, AUM festival in Arkansas (a 5 day event), Reunion (touch samadhi's 4th annual 4day) in North Carolina, Earthdance in Illinois, Interfuse in Missouri, Emrace the Darkness and a halloween party in minnesota, Discordia in Nebraska, possibly Arizona, and many other locations that seem to randomly pop up. The big thing though is California. I still cant believe Nick and I will be playing there, its like a dream come true. I can't thank Rich enough for bringing us out. the party is going to be absolutely amazing. 3 days in the mountains near an old gold town on the Eel river. The Midwest Scene Shaping Up :)

After a killer weekend of preparing and then unleashing the Blacklight Forest, I have to say that I am happier than ever with our midwest psy scene. The dancers came in hordes and never seemed to stop stomping! the vibe was fantastic with a few minor discrepancies, and with a total of 300 people ranging from all different walks of life, enlightenment ensued as people explored the outer realms of such a surreal atmosphere. Setting up deco for the party took about 3x as much time as usual, and wow did it pay off. We pushed Emerald City to it's limitations as we used every nook and cranny that we could. Then we illuminated it with over 1500 watts of blacklight which made it absolutely perfect. if anyone has pics of this night please let me know asap as id love to have them :) The sets were amazing, but better yet, the people dancing carried a phenomenal amount of energy. People that all came (many first timers) seemed to know exactly what to do and found their place immediately. I met many new friends and can see that this scene is shaping much more rapidly than I had previously expected, even with the mass flow of new individuals since it had started to really capture the land of Psyowa :) Another note to make about the midwest is the amazing duo of Primordial Ooze, which is the midwest's first groundbreaking live pa within the world of psy trance. they have been playing phenomenal sets already, and have a very bright future ahead of them. Look out for some madness and keep your eyes open as these two are sure to invade the international psy world and have many from the midwest soon joining them as well :) seriously, thank you to everyone who has made a difference, who has shown the drive and ambition, and to those looking to bring the human beings together under a new level of interconnectedness, or at least within the realms of descent association within a message through music. Its good to see that there is some soul left around here after all, and that its starting to become very prevalant :) :) :) :) Mindoutpsyde has much more planned for he future, as im sure Chilluminati, Trance Psyndicate and Audiognomes, hopefully with some new groups popping up as well. Why People Should Dance Until After Sunrise!

First of all, this blog is half a review of Sacred Earth: Open Air in Wisconsin on May 26-29th, 2006, and half a blog dedicated to why people should dance until after sunrise. Sacred Earth rocked my world. Period. I had the best 4 days of my life and there are many great people to thank for such. Chilluminati keeps getting better and better at what they do, and they always keep drawing a stronger and more enlightened crowd. All of the artists that were brought there ended up being some of the coolest people I had ever met. It even came to the point were many of them invited me to their far away homes just because we made such great connections. I made many great friends and saw some of the most incredible sets to date. The people that came to this event seemed to be very nice and respectful to others for the most part. I strengthened many bonds with some people that have been coming to the goa parties as of late, and also met many new people that I can gaurantee will be back :) As far as the artists go, I wanna thank everyone of them for being the morning stompers. It seems as though over half of the morning stompers were the artists themselves, and they seem to help set the great vibe the was present. and this is where it goes into my second part of this blog... If people that were flown from across the country can stomp till the early morning, then Im sure more midwest people could too. I found this weekend that many people go to psy events for the social concept only and not the dancing and self expression.. im telling the people like that right now, YOUR MISSING OUT! There is so much spirituality to be found in releasing mass amounts of energy from inside to outside by moving between the vibrations of psy trance. No matter where the fun is at during the event, you can bet that you will find the most fun at the stage from the hours of 2am-8am. Dancing not only at night, but when the sun comes up and eventually takes over carries the most enlightening experiences I have ever had. It seemed as though many people got this idea by Monday. The first 2 nights many of the morning stompers where the artists and a few of us hardcore psyheads, but by Sunday night/Monday morning many people seemed to get the point of how important those morning hours are. So the point of this blog is to tell everyone that has never danced till the early morning to try it once and you might be pleasently surprised. The most energy is always found once the sun comes up. So pace yourself kids! Dont burn your energy right away as there is many hours in a night of goa. I wanna see the most people dancing towards the end to make that much more of an impact before the party is over. And I have a feeling that this will increase more and more as the parties go on! Some people from our group werent ever even found at the dancefloor and I have to admit Im a bit dissapointed in them, because they're all so cool and I wanna see them all dance as much as they can as if there was no tomorrow at events such as these! I also realized that as far as Mindoutpsyde's booking goes, we would most likely not hire someone that doesnt party along with us as well. so if your the type of person that only spins tracks and then leaves, or only spins fire/some trick to be the center of attention for a moment and then is never found at the stage again (youknowwhoyouare) you should really try hanging out with the crowd and help increase the energy force to strengthen transformation to a new level. Sorry to be so blunt but people need to carry this energy along with their talents, otherwise its pointless for us to pay them to be there. As for everyone that feels this scene is important and valuable to today's society, they can stomp till the early morning next time and prove themselves and they may actually find it some of the most enlightening times of their lives! Pacing and knowing when to start drinking/ect is important for saving till the morning in my opinion. That way the energy level comes much easier. Chilluminati did one hell of a job of hiring performers that showed a lot of respect to the party and made it most of what it became. They get better in this sense as they keep throwing parties, and we'll do our best to reflect that as well.

well, I got back from MAGE on Sunday and have been in shock since. It turned out to be one of the most incredible weekends in a while. I got to the party about 7 on friday and had just enough time to set up my stuff and get everything situated before Nick and I got on. I wanna thank Jeff for giving us the oppurtunity to open up, it worked out very good in our favor. Alot of people immediately started dancing and the weekend started off just right. After we got done I sat and took a deep breath... the rest of the weekend was now carefree to me :) All of the people were amazing. People from all walks of life, area, ect were there. Even though rain was in the forecast all weekend about 250 people had to have shown up. I met people that drove from Detroit, New York, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Arkansas, and many other places. The vibe was one of the most incredible ones I had ever experienced. I made many strong friends, like the San Francisco crew that partied just as much as the rest of us, like Mubali, Paradigm and Vax. That crew is incredible and we'll be flying them out again shortly :) Barely anyone left because of the rain. The view from the venue was perfect, and even though it did rain, it was always very lightly and set a phenomenal looking overcast. It didnt even seem to get really muddy until saturday night, and even then as long as you were in one of the stages you were alright, which many people were. The sets were phenomenal as well. I enjoyed everyone that played and noticed that Jeff Z particulary organized the lineup so that all the artists he booked were going to party throughout the weekend as well, big name or not. That turned out to strengthen the vibe even more. People were in the best of spirits, even though some campers stuff had gotten soaked due to bad preparation. I cant wait till Interfuse as many of the same people will be present, and I already miss the family I had so this will work out perfectly. As far as music goes, Mubali, Freedom, Shagee, Kaiser Soze, SOT, Clandestine and Airyck are all djs/live acts at MAGE that will be playing at Interfuse! I absolutely cannot wait to rekindle the great spirits that will rise out of our bodies once again!

For my first blog, I would like to talk of the acheivements that the psy trance scene in our area has accomplished lately. I am really happy to say that a group right now that a few of us began known as MindOutpsyde has starting throwing psy parties in the Iowa area. Things have been progressing quicker than ever and there are many people to thank for that. It almost seems as though its a miracle because of how quick not just the music but the vibe that goes along with it goes. Every party we throw seems to evolve in one way or another, and for our first official event we decided to throw with two weeks notice because there was an opening in a perfect venue downtown. It started a tad bit shaky as my connection to the venue owner got fired while I was there trying to sort out our party, but luckily he let us do it anyway and I know that he wasnt the least bit dissapointed about it. We only expected about 200, but ended up getting over 300 people! a bunch of people came early and people seemed to dance throughout the night like they have never before! It seemed as though almost every person I wanted to be there was, and everyone seemed to be in the best of spirits. I met a few new good people and established strong ties with those that i already knew. Then the afterhours came. All the out of state djs came along, a bunch of people we invited, and even many we didnt invite showed up, but everything ended up working out anyway. People stayed well till sunday, and everyone made the afterhours just as exciting as the actual party. There are many great events already on the calendar for the midwest scene. In Iowa, the longest running and most well known annual psy party is returning again for the 3rd time, and is known as MAGE (Midwest Annual Goa Experience). It will include members from all the best psy groups around the area, including chilluminati, esoteric generation, audiognomes, midwest burners, and evening including incredible headliners that are new to the iowa area! This 3 day among others coming up, such as Interfuse, Sacred Earth Open Air (www.chilluminati.org), spectra inertia and others are goan to make this the best trance summer the midwest has ever seen! Be prepared for many more events in the near future, and everyone keep coming out and supporting! I love our crowd and never thought it could be as great as it has been lately, and even outside psy groups such as chilluminati, audiognomes and others have been an extremely great help even with our beginning "house parties" that ended up being much more than just a regular house party. in the future chilluminati and mindoutpsyde may very well collaborate... details to be released soon :) :) :) :)
