So-called "global warming" is just a secret ploy by wacko tree-huggers to make America energy independent, clean our air and water, improve the fuel efficiency of our vehicles, kick-start 21st-century industries, and make our cities safer and more livable. Don't let them get away with it.

What is the Story of Stuff?

From its extraction through sale, use and disposal, all the stuff in our lives affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you ... read more

They're an odd couple in every sense but a monkey and a pigeon have become inseparable at an animal sanctuary in China.

The 12-week-old macaque - who was abandoned by his mother - was close to death when it was rescued on Neilingding Island, in Goangdong Province.

After being taken to an animal hospital his health began to improve but he seemed spiritless - until he developed a friendship with a white pigeon.

The blossoming relationship helped to revive the macaque who has developed ... read more

Exactly one week in Rwanda working. Now some play time..

I spent last night at the Gorilla Nest in Kinigi.

I was the first one to breakfast this morning.. so excited to go on the trek to see the gorillas. Tee hee. We left the headquarters at 7am.

I was lucky to meet a woman named Sheryl the day before when checking into the Gorilla Nest Hotel.. she invited me to join her and her husband for the treacherous drive up the volcano to the headquarters because my drivers car couldn't mak... read more

From some Iranian newspaper via the BBC via the Washington Post, dubiously sourced, definitely implausible, but please.. let this be true:

A few weeks ago, 14 squirrels equipped with espionage systems of foreign intelligence services were captured by [Iranian] intelligence forces along the country's borders.

These trained squirrels, each of which weighed just over 700 grams, were released on the borders of the country for intelligence and espionage purposes.

According to the announce... read more

Last night (monday) I went to a lecture given by Vito Acconci followed by a private party given in his honor. Vito Acconci is a key late twentieth-century pioneer of performance, video, installation and the exploration of architectural space. His work has expanded art's boundaries, moving beyond the gallery or museum into shared public spaces. Initially a poet, Acconci began making Conceptual art in the late 1960s. The influential, provocative and often radical art-making practices of Vito Ac... read more

Sometimes it feels like we know how it has to end. Sometimes it feels like I should know better. But the rain.. I'm soaked in sounds - soul inspired. Like a dream, I'm captivated. My soul yearns to be in that now.. to sway back and forth in your presence. My dancing eyes wide open.. filled with the infinite ocean. My soul moving in and out.. like my breath into your breath - a kiss. You touch me and I feel better.

Create beauty so that it will always be there. A time will come when you will need it. I need it now.. set me free and paint my image say the soul within me. Let it flow onto the canvas and admire the beauty that came from within. Beauty in the eyes of the beholder the eyes belongs to me. I look at you.. You want to be set free. To set you free I let go a part of me. I love you child so go into the music and flow with the beat. The pounding of my heart becomes louder and sometimes I can not h... read more
