All went well!

My dad's memorial service went off without a hitch!

I surely didn't count heads, but the place was packed. I saw all kinds of people that I knew but hadn't seen in years, and met a whole lot more that my dad knew from many aspects of his life.
Neighbors, colleagues from his teaching days, people he volunteered with (at Habitat for Humanity, Sharing Table, Food Pantry, Homeless Org. Just4Peace, Estuary Ctr. and others), friends from all stages of his life, and of course Family.

Again and again I am left in awe of the man.

All the immediate family spoke, my brother, sister, me, and mom (in that order).

We all did a great job!

I got through my part with not more than a tiny choke here and there, I know dad would be proud.

I'm happy and relieved.

I'm really pleased to hear that lots of folk turned up to honour your Dad, support you & your family, and I admire you for speaking... I always imagine myself at my parents funeral simply as a mess hiding in a corner

I should add...
After being kind of frustrated with MY RT friends, I was very pleased to see about 20 of them there. Most of them knew my dad very little or not at all, they were there for me.

That means a lot.

Peace all,

Paul

I wish I could have met your dad. Just knowing the organizations he volunteered for makes me admire him.
Is there a particular charity he would want me to make a donation to? A little something in his name?
