Aids Lifecycle - Riding Moto - The Post Blog

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/cory-faded/blog/913ebd56-76a2-4394-8aaf-dc6529ceba8a"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/e18/1cc/e181cc0d-a50d-45c4-b39c-53818ef33a31.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>I thought I could blog this bad boy while I was on the road but turns out they didnt have computers for us to use to do that and besides, I was so exhausted I couldnt have even if I wanted to.
So here's the scoop.

To bed at 9 pm to up at 4 am to meet at 6 am to start work at 7 am....sunday May 31st.

It was all a blur even as I moved through it. Confusion, wrapping my head around the paperwork displaying directions, trying to figure out what exactly I'm going to do when I arrive at my assigned corner...
It was all just a cluster fuck in my head.
But the high of having a packed motorcycle with all I might need and meeting my crew mates all decked out in their moto finest was an over the top rush.

This is how it works. 2100 bicyclists leave from cow palace s.f. anytime between 6 am and like 9 am, heading towards L.A. On this day Sunday, the first day, they will ride around 90 miles. They turn many corners. They cross many wicked streets. They merge where cars are unforgiving. They face death at every turn.

Hence the Moto Saftey crew. We jump ahead of them, position ourselves on a nasty corner and warn/direct/encourage them as they pass. Once the last rider has passed us (noted by the infamous Caboose which is a bright yellow truck that travels from S.F. to L.A. going 10 mph or the speed of the very last bike rider...Day in and day out)
We then we speed our motorcycles up ahead of the group and position ourselves at another knarly corner and do it all over again.
We leap frog them all day. 30 of us on our moto's. Leap frogging the bicycles.
The mapping out of scary corners, the assigning of moto's to the corners, the making sure that the moto crews are not consistently assigned to the most hairy corners is an undertaking that boggles my mind and I saw it all happen.

Some corners were no more than a reminder to turn right. Very boring. So you get creative.

Other corners were so scary that you spend 4 hours yelling the same instructions over and over again. "come to a complete stop, cross traffic does not stop, the drivers dont know what they are doing so proceed when you feel comfortable" over and over again for 4 hours, on your feet while you wave a flag or a stop sign to alert drivers to your presence.

Up everyday at 5 am, speeding off to a new corner, doing it for 3 to 4 hours then on your bike to the next one. By 7 pm were done but we have our daily 7:15 moto meeting so Dinner happens around 7:30 and if you can stay awake long enough, you can have a shower.

I fell asleep dead in my bed every night no later than 9 pm. One night I tried desperately to stay awake long enough for the sun to go down. Didnt work. I was out before I knew it.

The biggest shock I had in all this was the fact that people CAN actually ride a bicycle for 90 miles a day. It never crossed my mind, in all my life, that not only is it possible but 2100 can and will do it for 7 days. Of course they have sweep vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with bike racks and at any time any rider can quit for the day. This is a fun ride, not a forced ride and each person has their agenda/abilities/plan for riding. Some go the distance each day and some just have a goal of say...20 miles. But I can say that most did the distance. Fantastic.

Once we arrive at the destination of the end of the days ride, they set up tents, sleeping tents, massage tents, chiropractic tents, sports medicine tents, food tents, sales tents, for the love of pete it's huge. They set it up, we come, we eat, we shower, we get massaged, we sleep, we wake up, we go and they pack it all away and drive ahead to the next days end camp and set it all up again.

FANTASTIC!

Are you with me. It's fucking amazing.

There were a few highlights for me.

On the day I couldnt keep the peepers open before the sun went down I crashed hard. But I was woken up and as I opened my eyes, there was Lori staring down at me, it took me a quick second to realize she had the most gorgeous kitten in her hands. Yup. A real live, omg, beautiful kitten. It was like a sweet flowing dream to pet that bundle of fur. They soon went away and I fell back into a deep sleep. As I always remember my dreams, I awoke to realize I had dreamt about kittens all night.
It was a magical night that actually felt like some kind of fantasy of bliss. I really cant explain it to it's righteousness. But it was other worldly.

The other highlight was watching nearly 3000 people (oh did I mention that while there were 2100 bike riders there were upwards of 600 roadies/workers)
file onto the beach in venture, at night, full moon, all holding a candle,...........in silence.
IN total and complete silence.

We all sat. still. quietly. crying. a vigil. for all those who got the shaft by aids. we left when we were done. randomly filing out and back to the life of the camp.

And again,
closing ceremonies.
every bike rider and their relations, every roadie and their relations, every person who wanted to experience closing ceremonies, all standing in silence as a beautiful song played and someone walked an empty bike into it all. The empty bike that represented all who were no longer here to ride.
The power and sadness of that moment will haunt me forever.

There is so much more. As most of you festies know and even you burners...try relaying what it's like. 20,000 things happen in one day. You could never cover all the fantastic deets. So you give up and just say, you gotta go see for yourself.

I am slammed with burning man work, slammed with getting ready to leave for mich, slammed with my impending departure for nearly 3 months.
I would love to write this trip down, not just for you, but for me to keep fresh on all that happened.
Perhaps I will on a slow night. Cause it's gonna be a great story to tell.</div>

the 1986 - 87 - 88- *89*... Vanagon Westphalia

    </a>
<div>That's what I'm looking for. If you know of one for sale, doesnt much matter on the aesthetics but would like it to be mechanically sound.
the inside could be trashed, the outside faded and looking worn, preferable. I need a project vehicle. And am limited on $$.

in addition,
figure I'll just put the energy out there of exactly what I'm looking for.
here goes:
1989 vanagon, 4 speed manual, recently replaced clutch and tranny. engine replacement with low miles, not camper but 7 seat van, inside and outside decent but doesnt have to be perfect, pop top or sun roof, prefer sun roof to pop top. no oil leaks, no coolant leaks.
(if you think the whole engine tranny clutch thing is a stretch, I'm kicking myself for passing up that exact scenario) not much over 100,000 miles. color no matter cause I'm painting that bad boy. dings no matter cause I dig the imperfections. minor mechanics all working, blinkers, cruise control, lights, wipers... DOOR LOCKS. dunno why these go wonky on vwb's.
there, that oughta do it.
ohhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!</div>

    </a>
										<div>Sadly Charlie never gets any.
Cory pissed once again in the exact same spot 4 times in a row.

And off to the San Diego Decom.

I remember Yuma now. strange that I forgot this whole part.
But Betty had an accident. Not a run into something accident
but a part failure accident.
One of the wheel bearings on one of the wheels that holds the belt on broke off.
But cooly enough, the wheel stayed on the post, probably held in place by the belt.

I heard it of course but didnt know what the heck happend.
I drove another 12 miles to yuma and pulled into a gas station. Looked under the hood and finally saw the fail.
It was another 2 miles to a mechanic so I limped her over there. Wishing often and hard that she just gets me to the man.

I pulled into the jankiest looking mechanic shop. Clemente came out. A handsome older mexican dude and he immediately went to work. Fixed her up pretty and $50 bucks broker I was on my way.

I loved Betty. She is an amazing vehicle. Her engine purrs. Her parts all work. She had a little faux paux and she survived like the bad ass motor home that she is.

Anyway, back to the road. Left the dunes and it was weird. They ended as quick as they started. I mean it was only a few miles stretch of dunes. Like how is just this skinny part of the world dunes. Dessert before and dessert after. weird.

I headed into Jacumba and followed my directions to the decom site. It was a cute little town. Dead mostly it seemed. One store.
Not much else except there were quite a few homes. Seemed like a really sparse place to live. I followed the road to decom and was kind of perplexed. I almost couldnt find it. It was in a wash. A sandy wash. and I remember them saying that rv's couldnt drive in cause it was too sandy. cars either for that matter. only 4x's. The surrounding area was residential homes and I was trying to figure out where 300 people were going to park. I walked around and couldnt find a soul. Not one person or one mark of the impending party. I got back to my rv and had a sit down. what the heck should I do? Wait around? It was early enough in the day that it seemed like people could show up. But late enough in the day that if they didnt, I didnt want to waste a day sitting in bum fuck.

So I decided to head to San Diego and come back tomorrow. I've never been to San Diego and I thought It would be cool to find a nice place to chill, maybe find an internet connection since this whole trip was supposed to be blogged but I couldnt cause it was impossible to steal internet on the road. So off I went.
But the landscape changed. And not for the better. In fact, during the whole time driving Betty I never once felt scared for her. I sure the fuck did on this stretch to San Diego.
They were steep mountains but they were entirely covered in rocks. And the scary part was the wind. There were times I actually felt like I was rolling on two wheels. That I was actually as some point going to have to throw myself to the other side of the vehicle in order to right her. It was FREAKING ME OUT. And not in any kind of good way. I slowed way down and white knuckled the ride.

I finally got to what ever the other side was and it was major freeway crossings and Flagstaff like hilly treey mountains. San Diego was not boding well for me so far. I needed to eat and just kept driving til I found a Baja fresh and a gas station. I chilled out and contemplated my next move. I wasnt really liking san diego and I thought perhaps I could head to L.A. and hang out with some peeps I know. I had talked to Martha earlier and she was like, Come on Down. All Bob Barker like. So I decided to head to L.A.
I could always head back to s.d. decom but to be honest, that road freaked me out enough to not want to go.

I headed to L.A. and it was hot. It was sweaty, havent had a shower in days, sticking to myself and getting a tad bit grumpy hot.
I knew exactly the first place I was going and that was to the place me and Ty lived at when we were 13. We had written in the sidewalk when it was still wet and I had to see if it was still there.
I got to victory and Burbank and hopped out to see..... It was still there.
I took pictures. It was awesome.
But at the same time, it didnt strike me as exciting.
You know when you go back to a place you grew up in and you get kind of a unique feeling. Like wow, this used to be home.
Well, I didnt get that. In fact, I spent many years in L.A. and while I drove all those familiar streets. It was the first time back visiting L.A. that I felt no connection or feelings of home.
I was realizing that you just cant go back.

I decided that I need a shower. I headed to the Laural Canyon Golds and took the sweetest shower ever. It was delicious.

I walked out of there a new womyn. I text'd Martha and told her where I was at and if she was free to meet up with me.
I hung out til dark and didnt get a text back from her til later. She was in class and would be for a while.

I decided to go eat. Good ole In and Out... real savage.
As I was leaving, Betty was acting strange. But nothing notable. Just funny.
I got a bit paranoid about this behavior and started rethinking my plans.
Now I love Betty. She has mostly flawlessly taken me on this here tour of the southwest.
But if she was gonna be ailing, I really didnt want to experience it far from home.
So I decided that I was gonna head for home.
I really didnt want my trip to end. In fact, the thought of going home straight away was distressing to no end.
I loved the road. I wanted to stay out here for way longer. There was just nothing to come home to.
But I was a bit scared.

So I headed to the freeway.
Then it hit me.
Oh Shit..... The GrapeVine.

The fucking car killer. Noooooooooo.
How could I have forgotten the freaking grape vine.
I just couldnt wrap my mind around the fact that I totally spaced on having to take the grapevine home If I went home by way of L.A.
If you've ever had a car killed by the grape vine, you know what I mean. I've had one killed and one maimed. My friend tina had hers killed outright.
I stopped at a gas station and looked at maps. go the 1, go the 15....
..........................
............
I decided that Betty could take it. I dont know exactly what she's complaining about, but were here and she can do it.

I was soooo wrong.

It wasnt 15 minutes that the grapevine started fucking with her.
She was complaining louder and stronger.
I was white knuckling it, teeth grinding, sitting to close to the windshield. Begging for mercy.
But I kept pushing her. I had to. I couldnt get stuck in the midst of the grape vine.
If she could make it over, I'll get her attention immediately on the other side.

she made it over. but she was not happy about it.
I stopped at the first gas station but they told me the nearest place was Bakersfield.
35 miles away.
I apologized to Betty profusely and begged her to help me get her to a dr.
She listened and she did.
We arrived in bakersfield and I stopped at a rest stop cause the night was closing in.
I figured to give her a rest and we'll attack her ailments tomorrow.
I woke up creaky and sad. I hated that I had to push her.
I made it to the mechanic and they gave me a few suggestions. Ones I already thought of.
Spark plugs and wires. perhaps she just needs new ones. I pulled the spark plugs out and saw they
could stand to be changed.
I went to a autozone and replaced both spark plugs and wires.
Even changed her rotor.
She smoothed out some but the knocking was still there.
I finally decided that if I could get her to limp home, I could deal with her there.
But she just wouldnt stop knocking.
so I made it to a ford dealership and decided to turn her over in the morning
and take a train home to await the verdict.

It was a bitter sweet night with Betty.
when the guys at the dealership looked at her they saw the crankshaft was out of round in it's rotation.
The night passed with me going through all I know about engines. I wondered if the wheel bearing going out could have
off set the crank shaft enough to send it on a slow decent into out of alignment.
Ending in her screwing up the valves.
Shit, I know a bit but not enough and not enough to figure it out that night.

I left Betty with the dealership and I limped home by train.
A sad sad ending to a really cool road trip.

she sits now getting work done.
Not by the dealership cause they are total fucking scam artists.
I got her out of there and to a real mechanic that doesnt jack their prices but somehow make you feel like your getting a deal.

I'm not really all that bummed. Cause whatever went wrong was gonna go wrong sooner or later.
I'm glad to have it taken care of now. Cause I love this RV. Betty is like a freakin dream.
She is clean and has been well cared for in her 30 years on this here earth. She only has 84,000 miles.
That so low for so old. But all her parts work so well. The fridge, the stove, the generator...
She's just got it all and She's pretty to boot.
So while I was sad at the end, I'm happy to get her what she needs.

and that is the end of the southwestern tour.

Yo mama!

Cory's Piss across the Southwest Tour part quad

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/cory-faded/blog/c774feda-4ba1-4e5f-ab85-446a0f2ca4f9"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/f82/9be/f829be0c-ac95-4844-b7ea-7bde267e13e0.thumb" width="65" height="43" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>So I dont think kate fucks Jack but I bet she fucks Sawyer.
Cory pissed often in 5 days. There were many options but while the portacory was
across the lot, it seems so much easier to stand on the landing of the drivers door and piss
straight down to the ground. You cant imagine how easy and how clean my shoes stayed.

Now for the decision.

Where is Cory going to go.

I was actually finding the end of my time with Pyramid really hard. Harder than I wanted it to be and harder than I could deal with.
I was pissed actually. It's too hard to feel attraction for someone you only get to see 2 weeks out of a year. And the distance
is way to great for much more than perhaps a single visit. It just pissed me off.
Sunday, the last day in Albuquerque was sweet. Even though I had a bit of underlying pissed offness, it was a sweet slow morning and through til mid day.
I was having to make my mind up and what I finally decided to go with was to head to the gym and work out, take a shower and by the end of it all I'll have made up my mind on where to go next. It's that damn Libra thing ya know. sometimes I just need someone to make a decision for me. But it was up to me and off I went.
Pyramid went back up to Santa Fe. She was gonna hang for a day or so up there and then head back to Florida.

I got to the gym but the mornings activity had me seeking a nap. I layed down and was out in a second.
I woke up, worked out, showered and realized I was no where nearer to a decision on what to do then before it all.

So I left 3 different times. Each time going towards Santa fe and then turning off and stopping while I thought better of it.
Ya, 3 times I did this. Talk about wishy washy.
It's just that I was free of her and even tho it was the absolute last thing I wanted, I didnt think I could hang for another day and then deal with the end of that.
In hindsight, I do wish I went and hung. But it's easy to say now.

It got dark. I sat in a whole foods parking lot hemming and hawing.
I finally got on the freeway and headed south. Away from Santa Fe. All the time telling myself I could turn around or sleep the night at a rest stop and decide in the morning.

But I didnt. I kept going.

I drove for a long time. My heart really hurt. Like you know that physical feeling in your chest where you think your heart is but is really more over towards the center. Ya, that. It was kind of excruciating. And it went on for hours. Literally.
I finally stopped at a rest stop and crashed like I had been up for a week. I mean crashed fast and hard. I wanted to escape the ache.
I realized that there was no going back. that to have to go through this process again was more than my body and mind could take.
It wasnt just missing her. It was so many things. Really just the continuous loss I keep experiencing in my life.

But crash I did and I woke up and didnt feel so bad. In fact, I felt great. The ache was still there but it was being replaced by the excitement of being back on the road going somewhere. I decided to head to the San Diego decom. It was 3 days in the outskirts of this town Jacumba. I was going to arrive a bit early but I figured I could always help out.
I had driven the night straight into arizona which I wasnt too happy about. I missed New Mexico again. Drove into it in the dark and drove out in the dark. And I wasnt exactly a big fan of Arizona.
But I was going to take a different route. Instead of heading across the 40 I was gonna cut down at Flagstaff and head down to the 8.
Right on the mexican border.
But I had Flagstaff to deal with. Man, I didnt like Flagstaff.

Now I had brought along my external Hard drive and kept all the flicks and stuff on it. So at a stop I decided to transfer some of them over to my computer so I'd have something to watch at my next sleep over. But for some reason the power cord failed. It was getting juice to the transformer but not passing through to the hard drive. what the fuck was that all about. What a stupid fail.

So now I had a really sick choice. stop in Flagstaff at a best buy and get a new cord. Fuck me. or blow it out. Fuck me.
I wanted to pass through that town.. speeding even.
But the unknown of what's beyond had me stopping.
Best buy didnt have my cable. So they sent me to the Flagstaff mall to a Radio Shack. I was not happy.
I was hating every second of this errand.
One thing of note was it was freezing. It felt like a cold Wisconsin fall day. A bitter cold fall day. And I wanted out and I wanted the warmth that I know was just miles below this frigid town.
I went into the mall and radio shack didnt have a cable either. but they gave me an alternative answer. Buy an new external case.
They didnt carry the one I needed and suggested I head back to best buy. I couldnt do it. I just could not fucking do it.

I practically ran out of that mall. Ran to Betty. Sped out of that fucking town. Still dont know why I hated it so much but it was bad mojo fo sho.
As I was driving out, the trees never seemed to end. The hilly tree covered landscape just went on and on.
All I wanted was to get back to the wide open spaces and warmth of an arizona dessert.
After a good solid hour of hating it, there it was.
The dessert.
But it had something else. cacti.
You know the kind. The 'stick em up' kind.
My first thoughts at these random far apart spaced cacti was how stupid they were.
Ya, I know. How negative am I. First I hate leaving Pyramid, then I am tortured by Flagstaff and now I'm thinking how stupid
these dumb ass cacti are.
But they were dumb.
and random.
and seemingly pointless.
I wasnt liking southern arizona as much as I thought.

Then I got to Phoenix. I liked it. I liked it alot.
Very spread out. Very very warm. Very posh looking.
I'm sure they have their bad neighborhoods, but from what I saw, it was cool.

I decided to stop at a best buy here and found out they didnt have my case either. but I could go to a frys.
And off I went. I got what I needed and picked up some chow and just dug my surroundings.

I decided to crash the night here since it just felt so good.
Got me a really cool rest stop and kicked back for hours. I was diggin the whole damn night.
The whole damn trip and my heart stopped hurting. mostly.

I woke up. Stretched. Fluffed my pillow. rolled over and went back down.
I woke up. Stretched. Kicked the covers off and checked out vertical.
ya. spose I could wake up now. Teeth, piss, grapefruit, yogurt. smooth out the bed head and off we go.

Now when your driving as the major part of your day, all your doing is reading road signs, checking the gauges on the ole vehicky and thinking thoughts. So How the hell I missed the turn off for the 8 is totally beyond me. I mean really. I had to have missed at least 3 if not more signs stating this is the turn off for the 8 freeway west.

But I missed it and cruised about 20 minutes east out of my way. I pulled off when I got the feeling. You know the feeling. That you should have come across it by now. But not believing that you could have spaced on an entire freeway turn off.
I pulled into a store that turned out to be amazing. They sold some of the coolest shit. But it was all too expensive and well lets face it, most of it just extraneous junk. But some really cool junk. I looked around and just couldnt find anything worth buying.
The american knick knack market is full of shit but most of it just takes up the space that George Carlin talks about that inevitably requires you to buy more space. It's a vicious circle.

I head back to the 8 and was even more amazed at how many signs I truly spaced on to miss this exit. I must have been off in some far ass world. Wish I knew where I was. I mean, It's me. How did I go somewhere that I cant even remember.

So here I am on the 8. It's a long 8. Not like an infinity 8 but just a long road. It's right along the mexican boarder and you can see the neck high white x fence they put up. Like that keeps anyone out. But I know they got the infrared and the night vision and ....
They had check points along the road. they stop and ask you where you've been. You'd think they would have checked out Betty for stowaways but they didnt. Perhaps my angelic face would make me a good smuggler.

I was on the way to Yuma Arizona. I like the sound of Yuma. Yuma was cool enough. Cant say I remember much of it now. Which is also weird cause I think I would have remembered it.
What I do remember next is the awesome sand dunes. Sand dunes on both sides of the road that looked so smooth I wanted to lick one. I wanted to stop in this warm fuzzy place but I really wanted a rest stop. I finally got one. but they stuck the damn thing in the middle of the freeway. No access to the dunes. What a rip off. I had a mad urge to run up one and see my foot prints. Go bare foot. just get all jiggy with it.
But it was not to be. I set up camp at this rest stop and dug the night away. It was a great stop. I watched the sun set. I just chilled and well, loved it all.

Woke up. stretched. scratched my .... something. and got the fuck up to a really cool place. There is something to be said about what you wake up to every morning. I gotta say, waking up to bernal heights every day isnt exactly the pinnacle of weeeeee.

Today was the day I was gonna hook up with the San Diego peeps.

or was it.

Will cory hook up with the San Diego peeps?
Will she pee for the 4th time in the same spot out her drivers door?
Will Charlie ever make a move on Claire?

Same place same time...

    </a>
<div>John Lock used dy-no-mite to blow the hatch.
Cory pissed outside this 5 am morning.
And Pyramid and Cory arrive safely to see FREAKY BALLOONS IN THE SKY!

Phillips Gas Station. 7 am. Outside the fiesta grounds. There they were. Some of the most amazing ufo's I'd ever seen. Cept they werent ufo's. They were Ginormous balloons. I mean, hory shit, big ass balloons.

The shapes. The Energizer Bunny. A wicked cool bee. A castle. Darth Vaders Head. A champagne bottle. A stork with a baby. A hamburger. a scare crow. a kids airplane. a beer mug. and the coolest one of all. A Holstein Cow.
But there were more. hundreds actually. Some just regular balloon shaped. Others were characters. and they filled the sky. Pyramid had been at the balloon fiesta the week before since it had started then. I was busy at the time with Tease-O-Rama assisting hundreds of womyn in all states of undress. So I missed the first week, but her rendezvous gave her many facts that she filled my ears with.
The thing that was so amazing about all these balloons hovering in the air is it's exactly what an acid trip looks like.
I cant explain it unless you've tripped before, but I could have just as easily been watching this all on acid and felt exactly the same.
We stayed in the chilly morning air for a few hours and then planned our next move.

While I had done some research online about where to park for the next few days, I found that the actual fiesta grounds were a bit expensive and confining. But Pyramid found an amazing empty lot that for the fiesta turns into Madelines rv lot. For a mere $75 for the both of us, we could set up our camp for 4 days. And we were only a block away from the field where they set up the balloons.

We pulled in and got our cherry parking spot.

But I had some things to do. So we hopped into my rv and ran some Albuquerque errands. In all of New Mexico there in only one Golds Gym. And for fucks sake it was in Albuquerque. So a shower and a work out was had by me while Pyramid had a shower and wouldnt ya know, she went shopping at Ross. For those that dont know what a goldmine Ross is. Well, it's a freaking gold mine. Many of the theatres decorations came from Ross.
After a stop at the grocery store, we headed back to our humble digz.

After a nap, we went down to the balloon field.
There were people everywhere. Families. Nearly everyone there was a mom, a dad or a kid. It was a really mellow crowd, but that wasnt very noteworthy in the grand scheme of things.
The balloons were laying on the field in all states of inflation.
I was struck dumb by the enormity of them all. They were big as houses. Big houses. Not some little adobes. For the next few hours I watched them go from bundles to big ass inflated balloons.
One thing that was very cool is each balloon makes trading cards. Kids run around collecting them and I can see why. A picture of the balloon is on the front and facts about the balloon on the back. I collected a few and so did Pyramid. some were just totally memorable.

It was still daylight out but the sun was sinking fast behind the mountains.
The balloons dont take off at night. They just inflate and sit on the field so when the sun really goes down they do the glo thing.
All the balloons pull their propane cords and the balloons light the fuck up. All %*(*@ hundred of them.
It's a site to see. There is a count down and they all pull the cords. They do it about 8 or 9 times until it's total dark.
Then they deflate them and pack them away.
By the time this is all done which I gotta say is quick as shit. You'd think that packing these suckers up would be a lengthy process but it wasnt. I almost blinked and they were packed back into the trucks.
And then,
The fireworks started.

Now we've been to burning man. We've seen fireworks. We know they're cool.
But this,
This was like slow sex fire works.
They had a choreography like I've never seen before.
3 or 4 fireworks would go up at once in their timed way and compliment each other as they exploded in the sky.
And then another set would go up and it would be all different choreography and all different colors.
And then another and another and another.
They didnt try to wow you with quantity but with the quality of each set.
They filled the sky so big that it was from one corner of your eye to another.
You felt like your entire world was an explosion of beautiful color and configurations.
This went on for almost 20 minutes.

Then they shifted to the far left side of the field.
These fire works were set up in a row of say... 20.
So points in a straight line where fireworks shot up all at the same time.
Kind of like sparklers.
Each night they picked different colors. this night was gold and blue.
These went up for almost a solid 5 minutes.
It had it's own choreography as well.

Then it shifted back to the right in the first location.
and the choreography continued for another 5 or so minutes
till the grand finale which was so spectacular that no words could bring you the experience.

it was masterful.
It's was hard core.
It was the real deal.

We spent the rest of the night wandering the fiesta grounds. They had lots of tents where they were selling typical crap but it was fun to look at some of the fiesta specific junk. Met some really cool people. We actually closed the place down. It was a warm night and our conversation just never stopped.

That's one thing I can say about this trip with Pyramid. We talked almost non stop for 5 days.

The days came and went. Rain came and went canceling a lot of the activities. But we went down every day anyway to see what was going on. there seemed to be always something going on. Helicopters landing on the field so people could come check them out. Cops on horseback that drew a crowd everywhere. Just one thing or another.

But like all good things..... ya, they come to an end.
Now I had the opportunity to head back up to Santa Fe with Pyramid or hit the road back to where I was going and what I was doing.
I had options. Makers Faire in Austin Tx. San Diego decom. Head to Utah to Bryce Canyon.

Where does Cory choose to go??
Did she piss at all these entire 5 days?
Is Kate ever going to fuck the doc??

This and more on the next installment of

Cory's piss across the southwest tour

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/cory-faded/blog/fd6ee26d-e79e-4745-a74d-822ff63719f2"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/a5c/7a7/a5c7a76e-9516-4271-a2e3-70721781980e.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Clair kept her baby. But she's having a hard time learning how to deal with her circumstances.
I pissed outside at the Santa Fe Rest Stop.
and the hook up with Pyramid happened at aprox. 11:17 a.m.

I realize that the sparseness of my earlier story is in part because I drove through Arizona mostly in the dark. Through New Mexico mostly in the dark and only arrived in Santa Fe as the sun rose.
So while the story looks like I crashed at night, I slept really odd hours through the journey there.

But back to the scoop.

I follow my text'd directions to a mini mall parking lot in really freaking cool Santa Fe New Mexico.
Now lemme tell you, Santa Fe is awesome. All the houses are these one story square buildings called adobes and they are all rounded corners and sandstone colors. I had a strange feeling that touching one was gonna feel spongy. Like they were houses from a Dr. Suess flick or something. (turns out they are hard as a rock but we'll get to that later)

As I reach the turn into the parking lot. There is Pyramid waving me in. Seems someone got a bit impatient and walked across the parking lot to the literal entrance of mine. That'll warm any girls heart. After blocking traffic with a lengthy hug she directs me to her really righteous car. She has modified the damn thing to death. It's actually one of the most wickedly cool done up cars on the road. Girl was burn material before there even was a burn.
Park, hug, chat, hug, walk, hug, (kiss or two) chat, hug. blah blah blah.
We shopped at Whole foods and then headed over to Ruby and Juana's cozy adobe digz a few miles away.
We took a wrong turn somewhere and I got a feeling it wasn't on accident cause on our u turn, Pyramid pulls over. Yup. Horses.
Now, I had mentioned on my text's to her that it was my goal to see and touch as many horses as I possibly could on this trip. I even kept apples around for these equine drive bys. And wouldntcha know, Horses. Two very cool looking ones. Chomped my fuji organics and went about their biz. Now is that someone who pays attention or what?????
(gawd, I love that womyn!)
Back on the road, I'm barely looking at the highway lines. I'm rubber necking like a tweak'n speed freak. It's really the first time in daylight that I can see what the hell New Mexico is really like and let me tell you. IT"S Awesome! All the houses are these square adobe ones and when you see a modern shaped one, it almost pisses you off. Where do they get off ruining the landscape like that. For the first time I had a glimpse of what some uptight suburban chump feels like when his white trash neighbors dont mow the lawn. Got all snobby like that for a minute.
A few twists and turns of the road and we pull up to one of these amazing adobes. I'm actually going to get to go in one. First thing I do is jump out the rv and well, stopped for a hug before I ran to the wall to see if it was gonna be spongy. I kinda suspected not but wouldnt it have been cool if it was??

So, we headed into the adobe and hory shit man, it was even cooler inside. The ceiling was wood posts and the windows were wood but the adobe cement stuff kinda was smeared onto the wood so it looked like it was in place by simple hardening of the material. It was like no other inside of a home I'd ever seen before. It looked so simply built.
Turns out I knew Ruby. She would come work at my post at nightstage traffic over the years. At first I sorta recognized her but after a while, her wit reminded me. She was wicked sharp and a joker. We hung out for a while, but I was fading fast. I needed to head off to the land of zzzzz's. So after this and that, I was out like a light in Betty.
I awoke about 4 ish pm and seemed I was alone. Pyramid had taken off somewhere so I dicked around in Betty for a while and in no time she pulled up. We sat out and chatted for an hour or so and headed into Rubys when her chicka Juana showed up. Also another friend came by um... her name was.... like onyx or something. We had din din and chatted the night away. We talked fest talk and politics and adobe dish. Juana was a great cook and a pastry chef so for dessert we had cream puffs and if you think bearded papa is some good shit, naaa, try some pastry chef home baked goods. It truly was a personal experience eating that bad ass puff.

we retired to the entertainment room and do what all good lesbians do when they gather. Watched the flick that talks about the history of womyns music and music festivals. Then I took them all back to the 2007 mich fest with my vids and even threw some burn vids in for good luck. All and all it was a smashing night.
Cept for one thing. I had been sleeping so freaking weird that I wasnt tired but everyone else was. So I headed off to Betty to do some things and they all retired to their respective cool ass rooms. P came hung a bit but she was done for the night so off she went after a bit of this and that.

Me, I stood outside in the insanely warm night air and listened to the coyotes howl. Yes, they howl'd. And the moon rose. And the earth looked alive and beautiful. Another one of those damn dont want the nights to end kinda deals.

We had worked out that we would wake at 5 am and take off to Albuquerque. (man, cant believe how easy it is to spell now. It really took like a week before I had that damn word down) So 5 am came and I was so not ready for it. but I popped up and can I just say how freaking nice it is to wake up at 5 am to such a handsome face as Pyramid. was worth the price of admission.

Will Pyramid and Cory see the Balloons of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta?
Will Cory piss before or after the hour drive?
Will John Lock ever get the hatch open???

Stay tuned for more in.....

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/cory-faded/blog/fe2ee555-bc24-4176-b90b-7d1f7632041e"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/d22/a29/d22a29da-1156-44ff-9b15-c1470fb3716c.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>I pissed all over the Southwest. On Cacti, on roadside gravel, on green dewy smelling grass, on flat hot asphalt and subsequently on my shoe. See, pissing standing up used to be owned by the dudes of the world, but one little piece of plastic and chicks got the mad skills to do the same. Altho, not as skillfully. It would be mighty hard to write my name in the snow/sand/gravel.
And unless I'm actually pissing on something slightly higher than my actual footage, the dogs will get sprinkled.
Oh and did you guys know that pissing sitting down compresses the bladder and increase the flow. Which doesnt much figure into the bizarre length of time it takes for a chick to piss. I mean, were sitting squeezing that shit out in record time while you guys are standing and shooting out in spurts. You'd think we'd be in and out before ya. But spose that tuck and alignment puts us out of the race.
So, ya, I pissed on tree's, pissed on walls, pissed on chain link fence while a chorus of truckers and choo choo's whistle past my back.
My first actual piss was Fresno.
I left S.F. about 5 am. And what a rush that was. Aint nothing like leaving on a road trip. Got all the shit I need. Closed the door without even one look back at what I might have forgot. (should have brought the compression tester but fucking hindsight ya know)
Started her up. Oh, her. I should mention her. Her name is Betty Diamond. A 1981 Ford Econline 1ton 350 5.8L 8 cylinder dream home on wheels. I picked her up from a sweet suburban lifestyle. You'd think 1981 might make her an antique, but this girl was pristine. I mean, she is flawless in a million ways for her age. Inside and out. Just as pretty as can be.
So off we went. I crept through the streets of S.F. while you all slept. I passed your abodes whispering my goodbyes. And hit the freeways. A beautiful chorus of steady hum as the engine purrs down the 580 to the 99.
I watched the sun come up over Tracy. Not exactly the heart stopping beauty I was hoping for, but it really didnt matter. On the road is on the road and Sunrises will come every 24 ish hours for as long as I'm out here.
I hit the 99 with the piss meter about 3/4 full. But I have an unusual knack for holding it in for great lengths of time. I could hold a piss in for hours. And the longer It stays the more bent I get. And the subsequent piss is about as magnificent as a righteous cum.
FRESNO
Some say it's an armpit. I say it's an armpit. But in reality, it's all good. Cause it's the road and it's FREE. I pull off at anonymous stop #1. Side of the road broken down fruit stand. Heavy truck traffic passes by, and take my first piss. It was a tree piss. It was a warm morning. And man it felt good.
A snack and a perusal of the landscape and I was back eating some hearty miles for breakfast.
The 99 is an awesome highway. Lots of familiar California land. I highly recommend it as an alternative to the 5.
I whizzed past Bakersfield cause I was on my way to MOJAVE Baby.
Now Mojave is the shit. Why you might ask? Dont fucking rightly know. Maybe it's the wide open spaces, the saturating heat, the freedom you feel flying at freeway speeds.
I pulled over just for the fuck of it. Just to feel myself there. and to take piss #2.
That was a side of the road low brush piss and I was cleaning my shoes on that one. Gotta remember on those low lying brush pisses to spread my feet wider. Not hard to do. Just didnt think of it is all.
Back on the road, it could never end. And I thought about now would be a good time to match the landscape with some righteous tunes.
I got on the kick for Supertramp, Crisis What Crisis again recently after Caveman Blared the shit at the Sunday night pre-Burn sound check at center camp. I popped in my cassette tape to mp3 player into the tape deck. (ya, Betty is sporting an 1973 tape deck. Gotta love her) Cept, the cassette didnt work. Just so happened I had a second one tucked in one of the many storage spaces that she provided for me. But that sucker didnt work either. son of a bitch. What in the hell else could this bad ass road trip require other than A Soap Box Opera blasting from her front and back speakers. I wanted the space to be filled with that shit. My mind to be blown from all senses. So the next best thing, which isnt exaclty best, but the dreaded headphones. ya, popped those puppies in my ears and well, at least we were jamming. Flying. High as a mofro. I'm getting text's from Pyramid as I go which is a fantastic addition to the trip.
Oh, I should mention, I was on my way to hook up with a smoking hottie named Pyramid. We were going to meet in New Mexico and go hang out at the balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. ( I learned how to spell Albuquerque since taking this road trip.)
Coming up on Needles California. Piss #3 and by now, it's mostly a blur. Tired is creeping in and not really wanting to stop but not really wanting to keep going. I pull off at a perfect rest stop. Park back and away from the others and chill the night away. A warm beautiful night.
Now sleeping in Betty is like sleeping at home. Big bed, down comforter. fluffy pillows. My computer is juiced with movies or whatever I packed on there and I'm in FUCKING HEAVEN! Seriously. My first night I was like a kid attempting sleep on christmas eve. Couldnt fall out but was past tired. Couldnt wait for the morning but didnt want the night to end. Aint that a bitch. But if that's all I got to complain about, well, shit. Not doing so bad I'd say.
The morning came and I reluctantly took my morning piss girl style in the ole rest stop. I hovered not covered and my thighs complained.
brush teeth, check hair, eat fruit and yogurt, and I'm off like a dirty shirt. cept I left the dirty shirt on cause WHO FUCKING CARES IF I STINK. I'm telling you, that's living!
ARIZONA
Now I was real excited to hit Arizona. Like I thought some magical transformation of land would occur. Like all of a sudden cacti would pop up and aliens would hover and big rock formations with ancient writing and archeological abodes would appear from a distance. Not at first anyway. It kinda looked like a more sparse California. All the way to Flagstaff i went.
Now I could have stopped here and there on my travels but I decided I wanted to get to my squeeze Pyramid quick so I was gonna save the side trips for later. So I plunged through onto Flagstaff.
FLAGSTAFF.
Oh Man, I hated Flagstaff. I mean, seriously did not like it the minute I started hitting tall green tree's. Flagstaff is literally nothing but mountainy trees. I cant say exactly why I didnt like it, All I can say is I DIDNT LIKE IT.
I wanted out. But I had to stop. I had to run some errands.
Driving for hours on end gets your mind traveling far and wide as well. I was all over the map with my thoughts.
By the time I hit Flagstaff, I had convinced myself that I needed two things desperately. Portable speakers and one of those hand held bb guns. Ya, I got it in my head that were I to be traveling with one of those, If trouble appeared in the night, it' would look just like a real gun.
And while I have owned and shot a gun, I never shot or owned one of those bb guns. And I just had to see.
So I stopped at the local Flagstaff walmart. They didnt have the speakers I wanted but they did have a $16 looks like a real gun bb gun. So I bought it. I went flying out of Flagstaff thinking of the scenarios in which I would pull this puppy out thwarting any attempts of would be assholes that found their way into my world.
But after a few well played out visions, I realized that I was bringing my trip down. Being scared is bullshit cause until there is something to shit in your pants about, their is no point in shitting in your pants.
So, I put on some sweet tunes and sped my way out of Flagstaff like there were cooties on my tail.
I got as far away from there as I could stand and found me another sweet rest stop and packed it in for the night. Many pisses were had this day. none of note. I did piss on Flagstaff, but my dna can be found at some sewage treatment facility. Like I said, not note worthy.

I've been drivin' all night, my hand's wet on the wheel
There's a voice in my head that drives my heel
It's my baby callin', says I need you here
And it's half past four and I'm shifting gear

I was up before the dawn. Traveled all through Arizona and hit New Mexico. Long hours. But happy hours.
I had a freak out right before Gallup. My accelerator was skipping. Gas was getting choked somewhere. I could feel it either being blocked by the fuel filter or the carb. I know a bit about fixing engines so I could narrow it down but it was freaking me out. I stopped at a flying j truck stop and got me the required liquids to pump into my system. But as i sat and thought about it, I realized that it was probably bad gas. Since the problem wasnt continuous. Only intermittent. I deduced I filled up on some $3.35 gal shitty petrol.
I got back on the road and every now and again she stumbled. But she righted herself and by the time she was ready for a fill up, all the bad shit mostly expelled, I never heard from this problem again.
I started getting the fever. As i got closer to Sante Fe, (where I was going to hook up with Pyramid) I couldnt stop. I was tired but just couldnt do the stopping thing.
When I was 10 miles out of Sante Fe, I pulled into the rest stop and text'd Pyramid where I was and that I was taking a short nap.
I'd meet her at 10:30 in her designated meeting place.

Will Cory meet up with Pyramid? Will she take piss # 74473 inside the rest stop or outside? Will Claire hold her baby to term or will she die off like the rest of the pregnant womyn???

Stay tuned

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/cory-faded/blog/28270cdb-2721-4a1d-a6c7-ca023c9921db"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/12e/13e/12e13eaa-2c01-46f3-966d-c81690e772aa.thumb" width="65" height="58" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>So, I gotta admit, the lack of tribe pushed me to FB and now I'm addicted to the daily updates.
I never felt so connected to my peeps like I do seeing the short quips they come up with
lamenting about their moments in time.
I thought tribe was the be all end all of touching base.
But, low and behold,
You lose one thing you thought was the bomb and another thing comes up that
is better in another way.

Dont get me wrong. Tribe is still the best damn things for diatribes, pictures, back and forth debating, getting info you really need...
But FB steals the show when it comes to just feeling your people right next to ya.

So, while I'm still around tribe, if ya dont see me for a while, come check me on FB.
I'll come back to visit here once in a while and when I got my tribe needs.

Sorry tribe.
Love ya madly.
But now I'm playing the field.
You stood me up one to many times.
Not that I'm holding it against you.
Shit happens.
But in the interim, someone came and asked to share my heart.
Now I'm poly. Well, I was always a little poly but loyal to the core.
Now I'm sharing my online time.

See ya around.

    </a>
<div>Ya, the next video is up.

http://sfundergroundflicks.com/burn08/html

It's kinda of an inside video tho.
while you might dig it if you weren't there,
It's really gonna speak to those of us who were.
You cant even imagine how insanely loud it played.
People said they heard it all the way over at 4:20.
No shit. It was that loud.
And for the die hard floyd fans, It was a total orgasm.

More floyd footage to come

tomorrow I'll post "The Greatest Pillow Fight Ever!!!!"
Which might also be only for those that were there or friends of those that were there or acquaintances of those who were there or hell, for anyone that digs a great pillow fight.

And may I just say.
This was the greatest unimpeded, 100% without a second of angst fun I have ever had in my life.
It's almost unimaginable that a mind and body can feel that good so consistently.
Editing these videos is like the whole enchilada all over again.

Freaking Fantastic.

Third Video Up and Jumping

    </a>
<div>Actually, it is a bit jumpy. Really jumpy. Just dont know how to solve that other than plant my feet better when filming.
Kinda frustrating. And maybe some aficionados can see the orange artifacts that blast up every once in a while.
Man, it's the bain. The clips all started out solid but in the render and from there on out in the timeline they
remain present. I even deleted the offending clips, the one pre, the one that is and the one after and they still come up in the render.
So if someone has the answer. I'm begging for it.

Dig the ride.

tribe spit out my picture. Hate'n the blogs without pics. Kinda like reading a long ass book that really isnt going anywhere but you dont put it down cause you just dont know if it's gonna turn on you and grab ya by the throat and not let you go so you keep freaking reading it for hope and hope and then about half way through your like fuck this shit cause if your half way through and the damn thing hasnt got one dick reference or the like then it just isnt worth much of a damn anyway now is it. See what I'm saying, you've kept reading and I suppose you will since that dick comment a few lines back has you wondering if there is gonna be some other risque shit in this here diatribe and well lets see if I can not disappoint. My bits my bit my bits are on fire. we dont need no lube let the mother fuc*** burn. but to be honest them their loins could use some attention. nothing like a playa fling to get the ole juices flowing and the yearning to begin. what a freaking tease. interests across america and my own freaking home town cant produce one simple fling flang. aint that a bitch and now on that note, i'll end this rambling bs so you can get on to the x'iest vid of the bm collection of this year. Oh did I fail to mention that, yes this second video has got some nudity but not blatant unless you call blatant seeing skin then well, I guess you could call it blatant. but it's all a matter of opinion wouldnt you say. What's to much for one aint but a glimpse to another. So go figure. I'll just leave it up to you to decide if this is crossing a line and if it is then I'll humbly ask you to keep your freaking opinion to yourself cause honestly your opinion is none of my buisness. and that's that.

<div>Soon to be in print and ready for distribution post haste.

Also, edited one mass of video clips for your entertainment.
It is just the lighting crew worker clips.
The next one is random people, mostly from center camp,
then art,
and then verbal ramblings.
