I live in Songaia Cohousing Community (near Seattle). In Aug-05, I left Microsoft after 9 years for "reWirement." My "work-like focus" is to use online technology to help us grow the intentional community movement. I act as an individual and as a member of Songaia Community. I work regionally with NICA (Northwest Intentional Communities Association) and serve on the Regional Networking Committee for the FIC (Fellowship for Intentional Community), and am on the Board for Coho/US (Cohousing Assoc. of the US).

What is your ecological footprint? http://www.myfootprint.org/ & http://www.footprintnetwork.org ( miscellaneous » websites ) "Good start" I'll give it 3 stars, as it has had some valued impact in stimulating conversation about your consumption patterns. It isn't at all smart/sensitive about intentional community living, which often involves a lot of sharing and reduced consumpation.

Creating a Life Together:Practical Tools to Grow Ecovillages and Intentional Communities ( miscellaneous » book reviews ) "One of the best community books available" She says that only about 10% of Intentional Communities actually get built, with about 25% of cohousing communities.

This book helps explain why so few actually make.
