about me
Trying to "figure me out" is quite a project (ha ha). I love listening to and making music (singing, piano, keys). I love language and cultures and have a wide range of interests. (I've never been into spectator sports for some reason, though...)

(The way I think:)
I like to brainstorm and think in an exploratory manner. I like "punny" humor and people with a "sense of silliness." I'm not sure that there's any "-ism" that I can be fully true to: I prefer to keep perspective by considering an array of schools of thought. I appreciate the deep, life-enriching concepts of religions but am repelled by afterlife threatening dogmas. I have faith in the ability of humans to self-evolve. I am curious and open-minded about metaphysical concepts, and also examine them (as well as everything) with an inquiring "what-if" thinking mind. I tend to glean information from magazines and articles. Absorbing whole books takes time that I often do not have, but I find that well read people tend to be fun and interesting to talk with.

(with others)
I like people a lot, and yet I'm content without romantic attachment (until some relationship situation comes along that really works out for me): Quirkyalone I think is what it's now called. I lead a busy lifestyle (gotta pay the bills with a day job and pursue my musical involvements afterwards). Although I'm a bit shy, I am open-minded about relationship possibilities...

What gift do I wish to bring to the world? In examining my multiple interests and ideas about what I wanted to be/do (do-be do-be do..), there are some common themes: streamlining and organizing, sharing music, connecting people with resources and understandings, and helping people to feel good.

(Music I like)
I have particular yet very ecclectic tastes in music: Prog/Art Rock, Jazz, World, Early and Chamber Music, Modern Folk, soft 60's, lots of 70's and 80s, more. Artists such as Peter Gabriel, Suzanne Vega, XTC, Todd Rundgren, Yello, Stan Getz, Yes, King Crimson, The Flaming Lips, Burt Bacharach, The Fifth Dimension, The Assciation, The Mammas and the Pappas, Spanky and our Gang, Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66, Oregon, The Who, The Police, Heart, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Bauhaus, El Ășltimo de la fila, Fleetwood Mac (Tusk especially), Talking Heads (early years), Clan of Xymox, Ekova, Palestrina, Debussy, Puccini, Clementi, Mozart, etc. etc. etc. Check out my ecclectic http:// music.yahoo.com/launchcast/station.asp?u=1365819133

I could go on and on, but I'll leave this as a general overview of myself.

Riding the ever moving wave of the present moment is quite a balancing game of letting go and holding on. Knowing what is best to hold onto and what is best to let go of and when is an ongoing lesson in keeping present with my evolving self. Now, what "self" am I talking about, the self that I'm catching up with or the the "I" that's chasing after the runaway "self"??
