If I had a bike I don't think I could manage to ride it from the bedroom to the living room, where I work....but if I did have one I'd ride it over to walk the dogs. And more than just one day a year.

Okay, for everyone who isn't going to ride, you must do one of the following:
1. Do a Jane Fonda style scissor/bicycle exercise if you stay at home
2. Watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure 3. Wave at every single bicyclist you see tomorrow and say "YOU LOOK SO SEXY WHILE YOU SAVE THE PLANET!!!" |

Cycling Adventures in Houston
Checking in from the glorious humidity of the Gulf Coast: I managed to ride to work and back, 13 km each way, on my trusty two-wheeled steed Thursday and Friday. I don't do it often, but one or two times a month saves me some pocket change I might otherwise give to Metro (which now has bike racks on most of its buses, say amen somebody). In Houston, even at 6:30 am you can get drenched just standing outside for a few minutes. The paved trail on which I ride parallels Brays Bayou; it has the added attraction of thousands of gnats that wind up splattered on a cyclists body, or in one's eyes and mouth if one is not careful.
Happy Pedaling!--dbc |
