I met Kim once in London when we spent the day with Sahira and Zymirrah. She's like a beautiful, delicate doe deer skipping through a meadow!! Very graceful, natural, friendly and sweet. I've yet to see her dance, but I WILL make it up to London to support you at an event soon - I promise!!!! X

Kimmer...Kimmy Kimerson. What can I say? She makes me smile. Her dancing is ooey gooey, graceful and elegant and her costuming and jewlery make me *drool*. She is my techno-chocolate haha.

she not only dances "like butter", she is an amazing person. Dancing with her has benefited me in so many ways. I have learned much about dance and yoga, but more importantly, I have learned to, through her love and support, to appreciate myself more.

Kim is an amazing package! A beautiful dancer, designer and person. I feel very fortunate to have found her in such a big city. She is a woodland pixie in a metal city, so she's not that hard to miss ; ). I love you Miss Kimmy!!!!!!! Never go away!

Kim makes my world beautiful. She makes it a world of laughter, fun , love and affection. A world with everything I desire. She fills my head with knowledge, and knows how to make me feel good. She shakes her cute little butt in a way that I can't even believe. She's strong, gorgeous, and would be a worthy adversary if she had any enemies. She's the best thing that has ever happened to me. She's the one I adore.

My Profile

about me
My ultimate goal is to be a point of emanation for honesty and joy. I want to put love and beauty into everything I touch, and I want to be strong enough to be strong when those around me need it most. I'm the kind of person who never quite gives up the idea that I can be friends with someone, even if that person snubs me or ignores me or makes me angry. I'm also the kind of person that can aim very accurately at her mouth with her foot and get it in there almost every time. This shouldn't be taken to mean that I tolerate bullshit--I don't do that very well at all.

So if you're reading this and you're thinking to yourself that I've left you a few voice mails, or called while you were eating dinner, or I emailed you something stupid, then just know that it's because you mean something to me.

I dance all the time, I sing random songs at surprising times, I can do the meanest animal noises you've ever heard, and I often swear during otherwise-polite conversation.

This is me. And if I left you a message, call me. I love that kinda stuff.

Moved to London in July 2005. I've missed a lot about the SF Bay Area: the dance community, Ocean Beach, my friends, Muir Woods... I know there are always exciting adventures ahead, and I'm super stoked about breaking new ground. But to all of the people I love that I'm saying goodbye to--I'm really going to miss you. If I am or ever am anything good, it's thanks to you. Much love.

Tribal Fusion Bellydance Course in Central London

Lusciously situated near Angel and Farringdon tube stations. The walk from Angel station is ten minutes or less, and
takes you by Sadler's Wells. Dreamy. :) It's super easy to get to by bus as well, with the Hardwick Street stop right in front of the building, serviced by the 19, 38, and 341 buses.

Thursdays, April 10-May 15 @ Urdang Academy, 6:30pm-8pm

We'll be dealing with a choreography in sections, and along the way covering tribal fusion posture, basics of movement, feeling and technique, and experimenting with shapes in choreography. Each class will start with stretching and conditioning, which is really key to tribal fusion, so bring a yoga mat, water, and dress like you're going to move--some variety of trousers will serve you better than a skirt!

This course there are going to be some new experiments with expression and improvising to connect the minutiae of muscles to fluidity in form.

Bring an adventurous friend and a sense of humor! Here are dates and details:

Thursdays, April 10-May 15 @ Urdang Academy, 6:30pm-8pm

Studio 5 at The Urdang, Finsbury Town Hall
Rosebery Avenue
London EC1R 4RP

Course (6 weeks): £60
Drop-in: £12.00

Nearest tubes: Angel and Farringdon
Buses: 19, 38, and 341

And ongoing clasees @ ULU Energy Base Gym, on Malet St
Nearest tube stations: Russell Square and Goodge St

Monday nights, 4pm-6pm

Cost is £8.50 for non-students
(concessions for students and staff of the University of London, since it's the University of London Union and all...)

But that cost is a day membership--for that price, you can take classes with me and pretty much whatever else you might fancy as well!

Concentrating on stretching, finding and isolating muscles and working up from there!

My Blog

So exams 1 & 2 both went... at least okay. I'm a bit uncertain about the second one, as I seem to have a lust for personal torment which drives me to answer the most complex questions available to me in situations under pressure. For exam 1, I actually got my course paper back just before, which was essentially award-winning--major confidence boost, and also useful to have in mind since the exact same topic came up again on the exam. So here's hoping it means that one's in the bag.

However... read more

Just a quick note to explain why I've dropped off of the face of cyberspace: I'm teetering on the edge of five exams to finish a degree in International Development and Social Anthropology, which means I'm reading some heavy shit and trying to trick my brain out with some knowledge. I will resurface in earnest some time in June, methinks... I have a bunch of rad stuff going on over the summer, like dancing at Larmer Tree Fest with Sam Hasthorpe and Shisha Soundsystem, and I'll also be running... read more

... Been up all night, having my last all-hours essay party, and it's all getting pretty weird! I'm moving pretty slowly through some very convoluted theoretical terrain, and my brain keeps dropping the ball. Like, when you're having a conversation with someone and you continually cannot remember what you just said? That's me right now, except I'm having an important conversation with my professors. Great!

I'm one month away from the end of my degree. I'm sitting here, writing lengthy treatises on transnationalism and eating jelly beans. They're Jelly Belly beans that I had the luck to stumble across, and they're making me really happy. Unfortunately, there are only about five left, and I can't burden myself with the stress of rationing them on top of the stress of trying to make good on my investment in three years of university.

I'm at turns bored, fascinated, and thrilled to get a coconu... read more

So it's study time, and I must confess to going quite nocturnal. One of the last nights I was up in the wee hours reading and thinking, there was an earthquake. Tonight, a tiny news headline almost slipped unnoticed, but having clicked it open it is clear that an earthquake of the figurative sort is about to be unleashed.

Thomas Beatie is pregnant. Those of you that follow Oprah may have already heard this story and may have seen the interview with Thomans and his wife Nancy. The long stor... read more
