For years, my beer friends have been telling me to come to Ommegang Brewery for the "best beer festival ever" Because it normally fell on the same weekend as GreyFox (see below post) - I could never make it..but this year they switched the dates, so last weekend I found myself in a car with my friend Mike Fava, a keg of Dock Street in the back and greatest hits of the 80's on the ipod player, for a five hour ride to Cooperstown, NY (home of the baseball hall of fame, fyi).

I love my festivals and GreyFox is one of my favorites - since 1999, I've been getting my bluegrass on in the Catskills mountains with some of the best people I know from up and down the East Coast. My GreyFox family is about 20 strong - and we only get to see each other once a year, so we go full on whenever we see each other. I rode my bike to meet a friend for dinner tonight and my bike ride home has been amazing...
its raining in Philly - not a steady rain, but an intense - almost blinding rain for a few minutes, and then a slight drizzle - and then an intense, lighting striking, hail coming down rain storm...for a few hours now.

The best dog in the world turns 8 this week!

Shelia, Sharpie and I headed down, on the hottest day of the year so far, to the Roots Picnic on the waterfront. It was WAY hot -- so it took us a few bar stops (and a mani and pedi) before we actually got to the show. Sharon Jones was great, I only hope to have her energy when I am her age, the Roots were the best, we danced in the DJ tent to Diplo and then headed out after a few Gnarls Barkely songs -- we were spent, but the day was fun.
