if this woman is not a part of your life, MAKE A CHANGE. i haven't known karli that long, but what i do know is that i could sit down with this woman and talk for hours - and that the light in her eyes and the deep deep place that her laughter comes from is infectious and inspiring. she's vibrant and she has embraced the chaos - if you need some inspiration, spend some time with her and she will open your eyes to a very exciting way to live. i adore her, and i'm glad that serendipity (email on tribe resulted at her showing up at my door, IN GUATEMALA) brought us together. she's really, really special. lest i've painted her, however, as a fluffy ball of light, rest assured there's some bite and spine behind it all - if she ever had to i'm sure she could kick some ass, and i am thoroughly impressed that she rides a skateboard around portland (and wears the bandaids to prove it).

Karli and I met at a coffee shop when she asked me what the heck “Tlingit” was. So obviously she's inquisitive, but she's also smart, funny, energetic, and outgoing. She also has this wonderful excitement and childlike glee when she encounters new things that intrigue or interest her. Unfortunately she's dead set on going back to Portland for her RN instead of doing it in Hawai'i, but of course she'll be back...
