Akasha was very professional and yet down to earth when I ordered my pants. Being a dancer made her very aware of my needs and concerns when ordering my pants. I can't wait to see them when they're finished! Thanks Akasha!

Akasha was awesome at working with my tight deadline (like a week!) and flexible with the pants I needed/wanted. She was quick and efficient...and a great person to deal with. Her passion for the dance makes her a great costumer; she understands the importance that the costume also helps in setting the mood and adding to the performance. I say if you have ANY costuming needs, she's the gal to call!!!

I LOVE my DanZ PantZ!
My first pair were bought already pre-made. When you're a plus sized gal like me, you get a little nervous that pre-made stuff like costumes just won't fit quite right. But these were SOOO comfy and SOOO easy to move in that I just had to have them! I could not believe how stretchy they were and how well they fit me as a result! Now I am so excited that she is making me another pair, customized JUST FOR ME!! As a person, she's just super and a great friend. As an artist, she is very talented, with a keen eye for fun and flair. When conducting business she is professional and so easy to work with. So what's not to love? She's a cool, talented lady, artistic, fun and has a passion for the DanZ PantZ - custom designed and sewn pants JUST FOR YOU too!!! Help support this talented, burgeoning business woman - get your DanZ PantZ today!! August 24, 2007
Akasha is an amazing person, and equally amazing designer. I have one of the first Danz Pantz she sold, and I love them. You will not be sorry, give her costuming a try. She is always trying new fabrics and ideas, and will make you something that you will love for a dance lifetime.
Thank you Akasha!

www.akashawear.com Although I make DanZ PantZ (5 designs), and they are featured on the site, I also make several styles of tops, yarn and chainette fringe belts and skirts, hip drapz, and arm warmers and gloves. I needed a name that encompassed more than just the pants I make, so Akashawear made sense, since it's all things I would and do wear. Secondly, MY WEBSITE WILL BE UP BY THE END OF MARCH!! I've got a promise... read more
Belly Cats is a fantastic fundraiser put on by the lovely Saahira of Mischeivous Djinn, benefitting the wildcat sanctuary. Most of the vendors there will be donating some or all of their proceeds to the great cause. DanZ PantZ is no exception. I will be there with new PantZ styles, tops, hip drapes, fringe belts, panel skirts and more!

about me
I am a self employed clothing and costume designer and seamstress. I was able to quit the rat race in the fall of '06 to dedicate all my time to making fabric creations and dancing. I started sewing Renaissance costumes for my husband and myself in '01. Since then I've ventured into many other areas...Victorian wedding dress, bellydance costumes (tribal, folkloric, and cabaret), and "every day" clothes. I've been interested in bellydancing for a long time, but only took up the art a couple years ago. I've taken classes at Jawaahir and Ammala Middle Eastern Dance, starting out in traditional cabaret classes, but quickly realized my true passion - Tribal/Fusion style bellydance. I'm learning more about it all...American Tribal, Tribal Fusion, Gothic style and many other dance style outside of bellydance. LuuLuu is my dance partner, and together we make up the Afsana sisters. Afsana means to "story" or "fable", and we like our performances to tell a story, even if we only understand it. ;-) I also collaborate with other talented dancers, infusing fresh ideas and cool choreography into performances.
I am passionate about animals - the treatment of them, what wonderful influences they are, NOT eating them. I've always been involoved in animal causes and non-profits benefitting animals. Some of you were able to attend our fabulous bellydance animal fundraiser, "For the Love of Bunnies and Cats and Dogs..." The older I get, the wiser I become - realizing the effect I have on the world; people, animals, & planet. I try my best to do what I can, and lead by example.

we aren't planning a show - Sharon was on board with that - and the rest of us know how tiring it can be doing 2-day, 2-session, 3-hour workshops AND a show. Some of us are old (well, at least my body protests it is when I think I'm not!) and nee...
