derek is a good man.
there's not much to say, other than that.
but hell, -what more would you want?
this is one very open hearted, relentlessly positive
and at the risk of being repetitive,
he is all in all,
a very good man.

A wise grasshopper. A kind, smart and very funny grasshopper. Truly a one of a kind, sparkly high calibur creature of light. Thank you for everything.

the 2 's's' and the 2 'p's' in the word grasshopper remind me of a grasshopper hooping and a hopping from lily pad to boulder on a sunny sunday afternoon

A slight rotation in my field of vision
Caused a double-take to take your hoop into my heart’s mission The webs you weave are such a tease With each new thread I become more pleased By your passionate, almost blasphemous circle dance, At first glace you enhanced my journey as you spun me into a spiral trance. The moment I tried to look away, your wise eyes captured mine and convinced me to stay. For the first time in this life I stuck around to feel the love of a circle surround my body, but this was only the beginning ‘cause then your well rounded ground presence graced mine and allowed me to experience the rotationally divine. Yet again, this tends to be not the end For you then revolved me in your circle’s bend And showed me what a euphoric dance can be tenderly romanced when two souls who fill the holes between them take a chance. In the instant that our aureole’s were united, Loneliness was dissolved, love was requited, Not onlyin this situation, but for that common purpose Suddenly intention in this world began to surface Personal passages passed through with walls lined Shed the padding we needed until we could find A tunnel through which to channel our energy And commit to inspire open minds by lending free Miracle moments, mile upon mile Gyrating paths for each to create their own revolutionary style. ~Ilanamous~ February 24, 2007

We were watching television and Barack Obama came up in the news. I told my mom that i was really looking forward to the next 8 years. She agreed and stated that she hoped nothing bad would happen to him! It struck me as to how awful it would be if, God forbid, something bad DID happen. Then, later that same night, i happened to watch this amazing old 1984 documentary: www.hulu.com/watch/49577...-harvey-milk (and NO, this is NOT the current theatrical drama starring Sean Penn) I couldn't believe I had never heard this story before. I also couldn't help but relate this incredible man and this fascinating story to 2 events that are happening now in our present American society. 1. the election of the first black U.S. President who embraces a revolution of evolved thought 2. and the success and silliness of Prop. 8 in California It baffles me that, even today, more people do not realize that an assault of this nature on one minority group is a threat to ALL minority groups. With the passage of prop. 8, are we one step closer to embracing a culture akin to fascism that is thinly veiled behind a corrupt judicial system of perverted puritanical beliefs? Or are we closer to embracing the true depth and meaning of freedom? So before I sleep tonight, I will give up a prayer and request of protection for Barack Obama, "Please do not let one of your flock rise in hateful violence against this individual who represents so much hope for so many!" And then I think about what John Stewart said recently to Bill O' Reilly, "Relax! Breathe. Don't be so afraid anymore. It'll all be okay... Here.... Have a cup of cocoa!" (he handed him a nice hot cup of cocoa) I smile because this thought comforts me, and I can sleep... sincerely, a white, hetero, marginally-educated, hula-hooping male in his mid-upper 30's
