about me
I am both an artist and a musicians muse. Puerto Rican,Mexican, and cowboy Okie by birth. Or as my mother once called it "Okirican". I am the Goddess of perpetual motion.Born a dancer,I was dancing before I walked. most of my pieces are meant to be worn in dance and praise. Dance is a wonderful way for us to connect with our Gods,Spirits and Angels. Nature's Bling: My background is reflected in my work and I pray over my work while I work and dance for the spirits as I go. I Pray my work will bring a connection to to the earth, our ancestors and bring joy. Each piece will have one or more of three vital components.(1)Feature a nature's bling ie.stone,wood,leather,shells etc..(2)Have something recycled.(3)Inspire resourcefulness. Due to my heritage and a product of the 70's I am that odd mix of tribal/hippie/scooter-tramp/cowgirl/mountain woman. Yes there is such a beast. So, beliefs come down to, get-r-done right,be happy while you work(don't be a slave,work were you shine),heal they self(smoke a bowl),ride fast,ride hard, and always give praise and seek wisdom and LOOK GOOD DOING IT. I'm not saying my beliefs are right but they are what I know now. I am a staunch supporter of LEGAL MARIJUANA,"The Sacred Herb" the "Tree of Life".It saved my life. The Pills Kill. The sacred herb allows us to heal ourselves.

The next day...yesterday I called to checked on Miss Helen again. She had just gotten back from dialysis. I was having a hard time understanding her on the phone, she was excited about something, I thought she was upset. "I'll be right over" , I told her. Late the other evening I received a phone call from my dear sweet 71 year old neighbor Miss Helen. Having returned from the hospital in the final stages of Kidney failure she was offered two choices...go to a nursing facility or return home with little or no words of encouragement from the doctors. She was sent home to wait to die. She had not been eating. She complained of all the pills the doctors had her on. She said to me "Alana"(she pronounces it Alaina), "I'm not dying of kidney failu...
