Amazing. Saw wonderful things, were treated like queens by my friends. Took Zeybek classes, tried on beautiful costumes, went to Sufi ceremony and UNESCO/CID Istanbul International Dance Congress. Now very, very tired.....but would do it all again right now given half a chance.

Got dunked in 'beneficial' mud and thermal pools (benefit seemed to be smelling of eggs); swam in sea, lakes' river and various pools; wents on lots of boats and a few coaches; ate lots of marvelous food 'bin et, baluk, tavuk, yemiyorum'!; saw pig nosed turtles and logerhead sea turtles; visted lots of good ruins - Kaunos, Ephesus and Temple of Artimus(one pillar, but it was a wonder of the ancient world); lots of cats and dogs to play with - kittens and puppies ahhhh; sa... read more

I didn't tread on any jelly fish... I bought some rock... I visited every souk lots of times... I spent all my money.... I saw lots of lovely people... I had a nice time... I hope you all did too.....

Fun and games in Amsterdam on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - buckets of food, museums ans aimless wandering - marvelous time had there again as always. Thursday, gave up smoking. Again. Friday, hated everyone, did a load of prep for teaching and didn't smoke. Saturday, rehersals and caberet performance at the Guildhall theatre in Derby - nice change to be on a proper stage peering into the gloom and wondering if there was anyone there! There was. Excellent workshops and marvelous company. Ford castle was bathed in sunshine all weekend (though the teachers from Italy and California still found it hard to take off their coats!
